Hunter Charolais 15th Annual Bull Sale - Roblin, MB
HUNTER CHAROLAIS
THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2026
1:30 PM CST -at the farm, Roblin, MB
WELCOME FROM THE THE HUNTER FAMILY
On behalf of the family, I would like to welcome you to our 15th annual bull sale. If you are a past or present customer or reading our catalog for the first time we would like to thank you for your interest and support of our program. It really just feels like yesterday that we hosted our first one way back in 2011. One change that we are seeing this year with the sale is that BY Livestock Helge and Candace By have retired and will not be here helping us. We thank them for their professionalism for the past 14 years and wish them all the best in their retirement.
We are seeing unprecedented highs in the cattle market in Canada. It’s a good time to have cows and all signs point that it’s going to continue through the fall run this year. The Charolais premium is a real thing - we see it every fall with Charolais cross calves commanding top dollar in auction marts across the country. There is nothing more identifiable than a char cross calf. Now is the time to try and get every pound out of your calf crop at a premium.
The bulls are on a whole herd health program and they are fed balanced TMR ration to develop them. We feed these bulls to develop them to their potential and to maintain longevity. This year the bulls were weaned on to a 15 acre paddock in the hills at Michael’s till Christmas time. Our breeding philosophy has remained the same for the last 40 years. We strive to produce bulls that are long made easy fleshing individuals that are structurally sound with depth of body and natural thickness. We love cattle that are free moving and know how to travel or as I like to say are “thrifty”. We are continually trying to increase the performance of our cattle without sacrificing calving ease or vigour at birth.
The bulls are available anytime for viewing before the sale. If you are unable to make the sale we are more than happy to assist you with making your purchase. Please contact us or our very qualified sales staff to help you assess the bulls and to make an optimal selection to achieve the goals for your operation. Your bids will be handled in a confidential and professional matter. We still absolutely encourage you to come and appraise the bulls yourself and to have a visit with us. The sale is also being broadcast using DLMS for those of you that wish to bid online. The bulls will all be videoed and these videos will be available by the middle of March.
Lastly there are a lot people that help us make this operation and sale run. We’d like to extend our gratitude to them. The Hunters

Nightlife is one of biggest performance bulls we have ever produced. He is long made, heavy muscled and just an absolute truck with a big solid foot under him. His sire the HRJ Limitless 303L bull was the winner of the 2023 Players Club in Brandon. We admired him for his length of body, attractive look and how powerfully made he was. We flushed the dam of Nightlife the Zelma 372L female to Limitless and the results were spectacular. Two maternal sisters sold through our inaugural female sale this past fall and commanded twenty thousand and fourteen thousand.

In the spring of 2023 we went looking for a bull to add hair, guts, nuts and found Default. We were fortunate to wind up being able to partner with the good people down at Turnbull Charolais on Default. Default has done what we expected of him stamping his calves with an impressive coat of hair, impressive testicular development and has left a soggy set of sons that we are excited to offer for sale this year. His first daughters have entered production this year and we are excited about their udder type and how easy doing they are.

North Bounds dam is one of our most consistent producing females. This will be her 6th son that she has put through the sale with bulls working in purebred and commercial operations alike. All of her daughters have been retained and are also working here. We really appreciate how much natural muscle North Bound displays through his hip and how easy doing he is. He is soft made, stout and extremely thick. He is sure to sire steers that are going to have order buyers fighting over them.

On tour in the spring of 2024 we ran across a group of baby calves down at our good friends the Wilgenbusch’s at Halbrite sired by King Kong and absolutely loved them. We knew we wanted to incorporate his genetics into our cow herd. He has sired calves that came easy at birth and continually impress us with their growth and type. His sons will add hair and with King Kong being in the top 1% of the breed with his Milk EPD the daughters are sure to be front pasture females. CE: 7.8

Lithium is a bull that we found at Agribition in the fall of 2023. We admired him for how complete and balanced he was at that age. He is extremely sound footed and attractive made. He is consistently siring progeny that type just like him. Square made, stout with super attractive skulls. He is stamping his progeny with nice hair coats and we can’t wait to get his daughters into production.

Ransom has been a mainstay here in our program for several years. He is consistently siring calves that are deep made with extra dimension, rib shape and impressive hip muscling. We have been using him for several years now and more than ever when I think of the Ransom progeny they are maintenance free type cattle that are solid footed. His daughter’s are turning into cornerstone females of our program with one entering our flush program this past spring.
Nolan is a bull that we think would be an excellent candidate to enter a heifer pen. There is built in calving ease with the Ransom x Tank cross. He is sound and long made with great extension through his front third. His mother is a maternal sibling to the lot 6 bull in the catalog and the grandmother is the super consistent 1298 female.
Norseman is a smooth and long made feature Ransom son. He has plenty of shape through his hip and is sound footed on the ground. He is smooth shouldered and has an attractive skull. His dam is a heavy milking Johnstown female. We think that Norseman is just a perfect calving ease option without sacrificing performance.
HC HIGH COUNTRY 2H
High Country was the high selling bull through our 2021 bull sale going to the top commercial operation of Greg and Logan Els. He consistently sires bulls and females that have super dispositions, have hair to burn and plenty of performance. His daughters have neat and tidy udders and are super easy doing consistent producers.

Nike is without a doubt an absolute sale feature. We love how stout based, big hipped and free moving he is. He has been a standout since the day he was born. His dam is one of our best International daughters. This is a bull that we feel can add value to any program.

JUSTIFIED X 7106
We purchased a small pack of semen on the LT Justified bull with flushing HC Georgia 7106E in mind. When the smoke cleared she had one of best ever flushes and the lots 30-36 are all full sibling brothers out of this flush. Georgia is a big power house cow that we absolutely love around the farm. She has huge round foot underneath her that we think is absolutely ideal. She is a huge volume, big ribbed female that is powerful in her design. We thought the cross of her power with the style and correctness of the Justified bull would be a homerun. Georgia is the dam of our 2023 high seller the HC Kenworth 242K bull who has one son in the sale also. The resulting offspring are exceeding our expectations. They are correct in their design and are extremely sound on the ground. They are long bodied and have a pile of muscle through their lower third. If you’re looking to buy a consistent group of bulls to turn out with cows we think that these full brothers are definitely worth your consideration sale day.

The Wheaton bull was brought in on an AI basis to breed heifers. He has exceeded our expectations— calving ease without sacrificing performance. We love how these cattle are built, plenty of depth of body and super stout made. All of the Wheaton sons are out of first calf heifers and they absolutely fit in with everything else in the bull pen. We have had Wheaton daughters enter into production this year and they have ideal udders and mother extremely well.
New Level is one of the most attractive made bulls in the pen. He is square hipped and super smooth made through his front end. He has an impressive hair coat and with his genetic makeup of Wheaton x Johnstown we think he is a sure fire heifer bull.

Network is one of the most intriguing Tank sons that we have ever had on offer here at the farm. He is smooth made through his front end and extremely sound on the move. He is deep sided and has plenty of muscle expression through his hip structure. We think Network is a sure-fire heifer bull option especially being out Tank with a Garcia cow on the bottom side.
DC/CRJ TANK E108 P
The Tank bull doesn’t need any introduction in our program, being a mainstay for several years. He was for brought into the herdbull battery as an outcross power and performance bull. We use him very successfully on heifers and he consistently shortens the gestation on cows by a week. The vigour of his calves at birth is second to none. His EPD spread is impressive to say the least being in the top 10% of the breed for BW, top 25% of the breed for WW and 2% of the breed for YW. One thing with his numbers with his numbers that are so impressive is that his numbers are good and his accuracies are extremely high. Not only does he have direct progeny in the sale but he is the grandsire of several feature lots. I expect nothing but good things the longer his progeny are in production here. The old expression is “If it’s not broken don’t fix it”, is an accurate statement as to why we are still using Tank since we started in 2019.
