My name is Elle Flaig and I’ve been apart of the High Steaks Junior beef club for 6 years. Outside of the beef club I compete in hockey and High School Rodeo. As a grade 12 student this is my last year showing a steer, Big Bang has been a delight to work with and I’m proud of how he finished. After I graduate I plan on becoming an athletic therapist and working with athletes of all sports. Your bids toward my steer mean everything to me and my future, thank you for coming to support the High Steaks Beef Club.

I’m Sloan Walker & I guess time really does fly when you are having fun, as this is already my 6th & final year in the High Steaks Jr Beef Club already. I was fortunate to place 2nd in our Senior Public Speaking Competition this year. I’m proud to be selling my black white-faced Simmental steer, Senor Dominique that will offer prime beef ready to fill your freezer. I picked him from Riley Stormoens herd and its been a great year of feeding & halter breaking him. High Steaks has taught me so much over the years — responsibility, work ethic, communication skills, and friendships I’ll always be grateful for. After graduation, I’ll be heading to the United States on a bull riding scholarship for college rodeo. I’d be proud to promote my steer buyer as a partner helping support my next chapter in schooling and this summer with my LRA, WRA Rodeos & Bullridings.

Kashton is 17 years old and in Grade 11. Kash is a huge animal lover and competes in Team Roping & Tie Down Roping in High School Rodeo and local amateur rodeos. This year he has qualified for the High School Provincials in Team Roping. Kashton enjoys working with his Steer. Koncho has been great to work with throughout the year. Next year his goal is to get improve his showmanship and to get better at Clipping/Fitting. Kashton plans to upgrade to a different truck if there is a profit from the sale of his steer.

I am a sixteen year old who has been attending junior beef for six years. Over this time I have won the rate of gain, and spirit of the youth award, I am also the junior secretary for my club this year. Over the years in junior beef I have learned about showing, grooming and how to work cattle. It has also helped me get into the cattle business and I have been growing my own personal herd for the past few years. This year’s steer I purchased from Harvie Ranching. They have been great mentors and have always raised top quality steers.

Hi my name is Stella Mader and this is my sixth year in High Steaks. This year I am the youth a president for the club. My steer is a solid black sim/angus with a bit of white on his face. He is projected to weigh 1480 by show and sale time. I look forward to utilizing my high steaks money to further my education in the ag sector.

AURORA MIERKE

Hi I’m Aurora, I am 15 and this is my 2nd year in the High Steaks Junior Beef Club. My steers name is “Wonder” named after my favorite Megan Moroney song. He is a Hereford-Black Angus Cross And I purchased him from Harvie Ranching. Wonder has been a project for sure but slowly I have figured out which buttons to press and not to press. I am looking forward to the years to come in this club, as the past two years I have participated in it have been amazing!

Welcome to the 6th annual HSJB show and sale. I have been a member of the club from the beginning. I am 15yrs old and enjoy hockey, golf, fishing and welding. My steer “Rusty” is home raised and has been very easy to feed and get finished for the sale. I would like to again, thank my last years steer buyer OTIS EXCAVATING and thank you all for your support of our club.

It’s been a great year with my Homegrown Hereford Cross steer. He’s been great to work with and his conformation is quite impressive. I enjoy showmanship, fitting and the crowd at the show & sale. I’ve been in this club since the beginning & have learned so much. I’ve had a great Rookie year in Alberta High School Rodeo and would be happy to add your business logo to my sponsor lineup! This steer supports my ability to be in the sport as I aim to hopefully attend college on a rodeo scholarship in the future.

Hi! My name is Harper Walker and this year I’m excited to be selling my steer, Omar! I chose Omar from the Westway pen because he was compact, had nice hair & good temperament. Omar has been raised with a lot of love and care & will offer great quality beef ready to fill your freezer. Being part of beef club has taught me so much about responsibility, confidence, public speaking, teamwork, and animal care over the years. This year I won our Sr Public Speaking Competition and hope to show & sell well. It’s rodeo season and I’m excited to partner with Omars buyer and proudly market them as one of my rodeo sponsors as they help get me down the road to LRA, FCA, CARA, and High School Rodeos this year. Thank you for supporting local beef, youth in agriculture, and kids like me chasing our goals both in and out of the arena!

KARSEN VAN SICKLE

Hi my name is Karsen Van Sickle I’m 14 years old and I’ve been in the high steaks jr beef club for 6 years. This year I have home raised red baldie angus cross steer named Joker. I am projecting him to weigh about 1375 lbs on sale day. Some things I like to do in my free time are work on the farm with our cattle, or running a tractor (doing almost anything) or riding dirt bikes. I would like to thank Jenkins Trucking, R & D Trucking & my Auntie Louise, Uncle Rick for purchasing Black Ice in 2025. Hello, my name is Riley Breuer and this is my first year in the High Steaks program. This year I have a show steer named Freddie he eats a TMR ration and a grain mixture containing soaked beet pulp and show feed. I would really like to take Freddie to Calgary Stampede for the steer show! Come talk to me sale day. I’d like to introduce myself and tell you more about my steer!

AUBREY FRASER

Aubrey is a grade 8 student who stays busy balancing school, sports, and her passion for the cattle industry. When she isn’t in the barn working with her show cattle, Aubrey enjoys hockey, badminton, skiing, and golf. This year she is exhibiting “Chicken Nugget,” a steer she selected from our family herd last fall and has already campaigned at several junior shows this spring. Chicken Nugget was sired by Monopoly and Aubrey successfully showed full siblings of his previously. Aubrey is grateful for the friendships, opportunities, and lessons the High Steaks Junior Beef Club continues to provide, and she would like to sincerely thank Steelhaus Technologies for their generous support of her previous steer projects.

Kaislee loves horses, Junior Rodeos & her Market Steer. She is 14 years old and in Grade 8. Kaislee qualified for her 3rd Alberta Junior High Rodeo Provincial Finals in 4 of her 5 events. She is a Two-time National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) World Qualifier in Pole Bending. Kaislee enjoys working with her Steer and she is looking forward to a summer of riding her horses Dash, Beetle & Jigs. Kaislee’s 6th year with a Market Steer has been great with a lot of learning. Donny was great to work with throughout the year. Next year her goal is to do more clipping & fitting and to improve her showmanship skills.

Bella is 13 years old, and worked very hard on her sim-angus steer Hank this year, she calved him out last winter and has enjoyed watching him grow into the big guy he is today. Bella also plays hockey and competitive fastball.

Hi my name is Hayden Kamlah, I am 14 years old. My steers name is Curtis and he is a clubby cross steer I bought from RJ Cattle Co. He is a How Great Thou Art x Kyra 704E, Curtis is getting fed silage and a total grain ration. I like him because he’s super long and wide topped and clean fronted. This is my fifth year in High Steaks. I have really enjoyed learning so much about the cattle industry. It has been so awesome being surrounded by so many knowledgeable cattle farms. This year my steers name is Phil, and I purchased him from Harvie Ranching. He is a very quiet and nice steer, and was easy to work around. Thank you for coming to our show and sale!

GRACIE BOHRSON

My name is Gracie Bohrson and I turn 13 years old on steer show day. This is my 6th year in the High Steaks Junior Beef Club and I love being in this club with my friends and I’m proud of my steer this year. My steer, Big John is a big beef steer, who is an angus cross. Besides showing cattle, I also like playing hockey, volleyball, badminton, and spending time with friends and family. Special thanks to last year’s steer buyers, Mader, Girletz, Tykem, Hay City, Abbotsford Vet, Kamlah, and Joco/Brayden/Promold/Alta/DRI/McLeod/Crossfield Agencies from prior years.

My name is Chick Harvie, I’m 13 years old, and this is my sixth year in the club. This year, I’ll be selling my steer, “WINCHESTER”. He is a home-raised SimAngus steer that has done really well on a silage mix ration and Game Changer show feed to help maximize his carcass size and quality. I’ve worked hard with him all winter, and I’m proud to say I can now show him in his pen without a halter! The name “Winchester” was the perfect fit because it combines some of my favorite things — hunting, trapping, fishing, and raising cattle.

Hi my name is Riley Kamlah, I am 12 years old. My steer Franklin was bought from RJ Cattle Co and he is a In God We Trust x129 (Holy Smoker x Heat Wave). I have been having fun showing him this spring at junior shows. He is gaining weight steadily on a silage and grain ration. I hope to see you at the show and sale and I can tell you all about Franklin!

Hi my name is Isabell and I am 12 yrs old. This is my first year in the High Steaks Jr Beef Club and I am excited to present my Steer project Dip n Dot. He is a Simmental-Hereford Cross and I bought him from Harvie Ranching. So far he has been a calm and exceptional Steer this year! Not only do I enjoy being involved in High Steaks, I also enjoy Club Volleyball and Cross Country Running!

DANE DEEG

Dane has a passion for everything cow related, so for him to be in High Steaks was a no brainer. Dane is becoming a huge asset on the farm and his knowledge on our cowherd blows everyone away when he’s doing the tours. He picked T-Bone out of our home raised steers early in the fall and got to work! The effort he has put into T-Bone has created a great bond for Dane to really enjoy this process. Dane looks forward to the social aspect that comes with show and sale day and can’t wait to talk with you May 30th on his steer!

Ryles Tucker is 12 years old and this is his second year in High Steaks. This year his steer is named Winchester and he is an Angus cross. When he’s not working with his steer, he likes to ride steers. And he also loves helping on the ranch chasing and doctoring cattle. He also loves to trap and hunt.

HAILEY LIESEMER

Hello, my name is Hailey Liesemer. I am 12 years old and this is my 5th year as member of the HSJB club. I enjoy Hockey, Volley ball, baking, and hanging out with friends in my spare time. Thank you to Lochend Energy services for purchasing my steer last year. This years steer “goose” is home raised and I picked him my self. He will be a very good addition to your summer BBQ plans. I hope you all enjoy our show and sale and thank you all for your support.

SYDNEY VAN SICKLE

Hi I’m Sydney Van Sickle, I am 11 years old & this is my fourth year in High Steaks Jr Beef Club. This year my steers name is Pine Lake! He is a home raised ¼ Simmental & ¾ Red Angus steer. Pine Lake loves getting brushed and scratched. He has a great personality and always enjoys the attention he gets at the barn and at cattle shows. I like spending time on the farm working with cattle, riding bikes, and hanging out with family & friends. I would like to thank CCHMS for their continued support of the HSJB club & also a big Thank You for purchasing my steer in 2025. On May 30 I’ll be waiting for you at the Olds Mega Dome so you can meet my steer ‘Pine Lake’

LYLA HARVIE

My Hereford steer “Homer” has been a great project this year. He’s quiet and stayed on feed, he is finished so I’m proud of how he looks. I purchased him from Simpson Ranching and as always the quality of steer has been fantastic. I enjoy showmanship and so I am looking forward to getting Homer in the ring. I have had a successful Jr High School Rodeo season, especially in pole bending and made it to Provincials in light rifle & ribbons.

28 AINSLEY VAN SICKLE

Hi, I’m Ainsley Van Sickle I’m 11 years old and this is my fourth year in HSJB. This year my steer name is Cola, he is a brother to my last year steer Rooty, I’d like to thank Poplar Grove Vet Clinic for purchasing Rooty in 2025. Cola is a home raised Red Angus Steer that has been super quiet to work with this year. He weighs just over 1300 lb, & I think he’s going to be a AAA steer just like his brother was.. Things I like to do in my spare time are working with my show cattle, hanging out with my friends & going to the lake. THOMAS BOHRSON

My name is Thomas Bohrson and this is my 4th year in High Steaks. My steer, Big Steve is super quiet, powerful, big bodied, and is a steer that l am proud of weighing 1,600+. This year I learnt more about showing, public speaking and marketing cattle through the club. I also play lacrosse, hockey, ski, swim and enjoy camping with friends and family. I would like to thank last years buyers Complete Concrete, Brayden Reno, Rona Olds & Kamlah plus my previous buyers of Western Litho, Prairie Ad, Abbotsford Vet, DMI, CattleVids, RME, Cam Clark, Venture and Joco.

GENTRY HARVIE

My name is Gentry Harvie, and I’m 10 years old. My homegrown steer is named “THRILLER”, and he’s the biggest steer I’ve raised in my four years in the High Steaks Club. I’ve worked really hard on getting him halter broke and ready for this big day! Hand feeding him twice a day has helped get him quiet but he has been really stubborn at getting halter broke. My favorite part of High Steaks is public speaking. I also love school, running, and, of course, my cows!

Hi, my name is Piper Steckly and I am 10 years old. This is my fourth year of high-stakes Junior beef and I am so excited to show and sell my steer Greg. I am thinking of buying him back and keeping him as a pet forever. My thing to do is give him hugs. He is very cool looking because he has a heart on his head.

BRYNN DEEG

Brynn is a second year High Steaks member. When she is not in an arena playing Ringette she is eager to help at the farm especially to work with her steer Salt ‘n’ Pepper! The two of them have had an early bond as he trusted her before anyone else and it has only grown. Brynn looks forward to growing her knowledge in the beef sector and accomplishing goals along the way to her future dream job as an embryologist or veterinarian! She looks forward to meeting more cattle enthusiasts and visiting with you on May 30th!

Hi my name is Carter Kamlah, I am 10 years old. My steers name is Gary. He is a homegrown Simmental steer, he is long and friendly, he likes to be scratched. He is 1600 lbs and he will fill your freezer! I also like to play Hockey and Soccer. Hope to see you at the show and sale!

Brigham is proud to be in his second year with the HighSteaks Club alongside his steer, Wolf. He has been learning more about responsibility, sportsmanship, and the dedication it takes to raise and show cattle. He enjoys being part of the club and looks forward to continuing to learn and grow each year. When he’s not working with Wolf, Brigham enjoys hockey, quadding, hunting, and spending time outdoors on the ranch.

WYATT MCRAE

Hello my name is Wyatt McRae, I’m 9 years old and this is my first year in the High Steaks Junior Beef Club. My steers name is Zeus, and I purchased him from the Harviecrest Ranch. Zeus weighed 780lbs when I got him and I am hoping he will weigh 1350lbs come sale day! Zeus loves to have his tail head scratched. He always licks his lips while I scratch him. He gets plenty of TMR and finishing ration. I hope to see you at our show and sale on May 30th. Please come and say hi and I will introduce you to Zeus.

My name is Tel Harvie, and I’m 8 years old. This is my second year in the High Steaks Club. “TOMMY” is a home-raised commercial Simmental steer that has been fed a balanced ration of silage and grain twice a day to ensure he’s the best Alberta beef you’ve had! I love everything about cattle — feeding, halter breaking, fitting, and showing. You could say I live and breathe cows! When I grow up, I hope to take over my parents’ ranch and continue raising cattle.

SADDIE TUCKER

Saddie Tucker is 8 years old and this is her first year in High Steaks.Her steer is named White Boy Rick and he is a Charolais cross. He has been very easy to work with. When she’s not working with her steer she loves barrel racing and helping on the ranch.

DALTON DORRAN

My name is Dalton Dorran, and this is my second year of the High Steaks Junior Beef Club. I am 8 years old and live in Didsbury, Alberta, where my family has an annual commercial bred heifer sale. I love to show cattle! This is my steer Brick – he’s built like a brick house. He’s been quiet to work with and a great project. In the club this year I enjoyed learning about a cattle liner and doing my speech on the History of the Stanley Cup. I hope you can join us at the show and sale!

Hi, my name is Cole Steckly and this is my second year in High Steaks. I really enjoy playing with my friends and learning about the beef industry. I’m excited to show and sell my steer! He is a real beauty, and very quiet.

My name is Reina Sullivan and I am 7 years old and this is my first year in High Steaks. My steers name is Dotty and he is 14 months old. My favourite part of the club this year was learning and practicing grooming.
