We would like to say “THANK YOU” to our family, friends and customers for taking the time to show your interest and support in our program. It’s been an exciting time to be in the beef industry. With prices and demand at record highs and the North American cow herd depleted, it looks like it will be a strong period for some profitability for the cow/calf producers out there. Congratulations for sticking it out through the hard times and enjoy the next part of the ride.
We are very proud of our bull offering this year! We always try hard to cull our herd if the animal does not check all the boxes. Foot structure, udder quality, temperament, and longevity are at the forefront of our program. We have done more embryo work in the last few years to help improve our herd. We are confident that our customers will also gain from the benefits of this work by obtaining any of these bulls. Our goal is to make cattle that will go out and work for their owners making them more profit with less inputs. Whether you need a calving ease bull, power cow bull, or somewhere in between, we will help you find that bull to suit your specific needs.
Sarah has two started stock dogs on offer this year! Tig, the 2025 sale dog has been a great fit for his new owners; he has been a definite asset to their operation. We would love to share how these working dogs are able to make life a little easier and maybe a few less steps come chore time. It has long been said, a good dog will take the place of 2-3 hired men. And the great thing about dogs, is that they rarely complain and are willing to work for kibble!
We are very happy and excited to have my parents, Murray and Lil, join us in the sale. MJM Enterprises has offered up another very strong set of females from the top of their pen. There will be a great selection of top quality replacement heifers and first calf heifer pairs on offer.
We encourage everyone to stop by the farm and view the cattle anytime prior to the sale. The bulls do change a great deal from picture/video day to sale day, so please try and come take a look. If you are unable to tour the farm please feel free to request some updated information. As it has become a bit of a tradition we are offering a sale credit for this years bull purchase to everyone that takes the time to come and tour the bulls at home before we move them to the sale facility. SALE DAY INFORMATION
• SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASES If you are unable to attend the sale and wish representation, please let any of the sale staff know and they will be happy to assist you. For sight unseen purchases we guarantee satisfaction upon delivery.
• DELIVERY Golden Sunset will rebate $150/lot OR if you live over 150km away, will rebate $1/loaded km/lot if taken home within 7 days of sale. We will start delivery 1 week after sale to central points in Western Canada. Transport of bulls not taken on scheduled delivery runs will be the buyers responsibility. For bulls headed to the Eastern provinces, the transport cost will be the responsibility of the buyer. Rebate for bull purchases only.
• USA DELIVERY Golden Sunset will assist in arrangements for the cattle to be shipped to wherever you are in the US, at the buyers cost. All bulls sold to the USA will be charged an additional $250/bull to cover testing and border crossing cost. Payment for export cattle must be 50% prior to testing and the balance will be due prior to shipping.
• PAYMENT OPTIONS Payment is cash or cheque payable par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until settlement is made in full. Please call Kyle prior to the sale if you would like to make alternate arrangements.

• RIGHT TO SEMEN Golden Sunset reserves the right to collect semen at Golden Sunsets expense and the buyer’s convenience. Any semen collected will be for Golden Sunsets in herd use only, unless specified in the terms of a sale lot.
• HOOF TRIMMING No feet have been trimmed on any of the sale bulls.
• BULL WARRANTY All bulls are guaranteed breeders. All bulls are semen tested and vet inspected, and under a full herd health program. The standard CAA guarantee applies. We do not warranty against injury or illness after the sale, and encourage the use of insurance for that purpose. If the bulls are left at the farm, insurance is recommended. Golden Sunset will have replacement bulls on hand to cover your breeding season should you have any issue with your bull. Under no circumstances shall Golden Sunset be responsible for more than the purchase price of the said animal.
• PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. In an effort to protect the buyer’s interest, we strongly recommend insuring the bulls. An insurance agent will be available sale day.

INSTINCT is one of the most talked about bulls purchased in the 2024 season. He was the $55,000 lead off bull from the respected program of Leeuwnburgh Angus. He is a bull full of authentic Angus character in a thick muscular package. He has incredible phenotype, performance, and maternal cow power. He is in a league of his own for center mass, rib shape and depth. Massive top and chest floor, standing square and wide on all four corners. Navigation was selected for his overall completeness, foot structure, and his dam 802F who is an absolutely beautiful cow. Welcome to our 9th Annual Bull and Female Sale. We know it is a busy time of year for everyone and appreciate you taking time to visit the farm or attend the sale. We would like to thank our past buyers and hope everything has went well for you.
Last year was a trying year as far as weather goes. We had less than three inches of rain right at the farm. Pasture was tested to the limit and feed was tight, but we managed to make it through and got enough feed (we think). We downsized our cow herd while Kyle and Sarah are trying to increase their herd. “Changing of the Guard”. Besides there is fresh cow hands coming as you can see in the picture.
But what a pleasant surprise last fall wise. Calves sold for record prices. Finally we are getting paid for all our hard work. Hopefully prices hold.
Again we are offering 35 palpated open simmi cross replacement heifers. They will be sold in packages of 5. We will also be offering 35 1st calf simmi cross heifers with calves at side. They will be sold in groups of 5. All animals will be ready for grass.
Please feel free to stop by the farm to view the cattle. As coffee is always on, beer is cold, crib lessons are free, and BS plentiful.

HERD HEALTH
ü All cows and replacement heifers are MJM Enterprises’ home raised and on a full herd health program. They will have had their pre-breeding shot within 1 month prior to sale. Bovi-shield Gold FP5-VL5, Ultra Choice 8 Blackleg + Somm, and Ivomec.
ü All cows selling are 2 year olds with first calves at side. All cows were vaccinate/boostered with Scour Bos 9 last fall. All calves have received Merck Nasal Spray, Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot, Black Leg + Somm, Ivomec, and Toltrazuril pills within 1 month prior to sale.
