Welcome to Geis Angus Farm

Welcome to The Second, 2nd Annual Geis Angus Farm Bull Sale. The reboot of Geis Angus holds a huge amount of respect and gratitude towards where we came from. We would have not made it to where we are today without the support from where it started. It’s taken many years to rebuild the herd back to a point where we feel confident enough that the quality of cattle are a strong representative to the legacy that we were built from.

We have built our herd by trying to be the best we can be. By focusing on the little things when we started our herd is a lot better than trying to fix them later. We have been focusing on raising females that have perfect clean udders with no extra teats, strong udder suspension, appropriate teat size and placement. Cows that are made on a good solid and attractive structure while also possessing the ability to raise progeny that perform in the beef business. With that being said, that is our dream female that we are striving to create a cow herd full of. We are not perfect but we are proud to say that we have built a handful of foundation cow families that possess the traits that we are striving towards. We believe that this group of bulls come from cow families that we believe in and have proven themselves in our operation and are confident that they will prove themselves in your operation as well.

Please come to the farm any day for a tour, coffee is always on and drinks are always cold. On sale day, March 23, we will have hospitality all day at the farm and in the evening we will have a bar and supper as the sale comes to a close. Hope to see you on sale day!

How to Participate in a Farm Gate Timed Auction

After you are at the Farm Gate Timed auction site click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button.

First time Farm Gate users:

- First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. (please note due to some of the text notification features the Farm Gate Time Auction Site requires a new account separate account from your DLMS Live sale site)

- After you create your Farm Gate account you will receive a txt message with a pin code to verify your account.

- On your first log in to Farm Gate Timed auctions we recommend you go to your profile and confirm your notifications are set to YES. This allows the site to send you text and/or email notifications when you are out bid and if there is activity on your favorite lots.

Returning Farm Gate users:

- If you have used Farm Gate Timed auctions in the past simply enter your user name and password to continue. After you have logged in you are able to browse the timed auctions on DLMS Farm Gate Timed Auctions.

How to Bid in a Timed Auction:

Now that you are logged in and your account phone number / email is verified you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.

- Place Next Bid – to place the next bid on the item, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.

- Max Bid Amount – to place a max bid you put your max bid in the second box listed as “Max Bid” on the item, and then click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the max amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidential from the seller during the sale process.

Example of How the Max Bid Works - If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot competing against each other.

Watch List Feature

If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch with out having to scroll through the entire list you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button, by clicking this “watchlist” Icon that item is added to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of just your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.

Sale Ending / Closeout

Most Farm Gate Timed Auction sales close racehorse style with extended bidding.

What is Racehorse Style Close?

Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

How will Extended Bidding works?

When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

Bidding Close & Follow-up

After the clock has gone to “ENDED” and no bidding has occurred for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot. Or as the winning bidding you can contact the sale consignor / sale manager to confirm payment instructions.

-Please make sure that your account info is up-to-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this is how the billing is sent to Sale manager and/or Sale consignor.

Calving Ease, Cows/Large Heifers

Heifer Bull

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Geis Angus Farms Bull Sale. OBI Livestock Ltd. Is very proud to once again be working with the Geis Family. A constant with the Geis Family is you will get a bull that fits your needs either purebred or commercially. They continue to strive for top end genetics to go with their awesome cow herd. Last year’s sale was a huge success and with the cattle market where it sits, the industry is in such a good spot. This year’s bull pen does have some calving ease options for you and a lot of power bulls that will put the pounds on your calf crop. Big strapping bulls with that extra rib and shape on them fed in a large pen with athleticism kept in mind. The cows behind these bulls is the key to the operation, you can count on them to keep all the females from this group of bulls. Updated Sale Day Weights and Scrotals will be available as well. Please feel free to call myself, Roger or the Geis Family to discuss the offering. I will be at the farm Sale Day if you need any assistance.

The Investment sons are led off by a pair of brothers out of one of our foundation cows YHB 35E. They are a pair of calving ease bulls that we have always been high on. YHB 35E has been a staple in rebuilding our herd, she has raised many females that are retained in our herd creating the very deep “April” cow Family at Geis Angus Farm and also has raised bulls that have gone into other herds and succeeded. She is a cow that we will continue to flush and continue to be a pillar in our breeding program. These are two bulls that are calving ease bulls. GEIS 27N is a sure shot heifer bull and GEIS 26N we would trust on our own heifers, but will be a calving ease bull in any program.

GEIS INVESTMENT 40’25 (ET)

Our next set of Investment flush brothers is out of another dominant donor cow in our herd that we purchased from Miller Wilson Angus. DMM 49D raised a set of brothers that show a promising amount of performance along with maternal qualities. She is a cow that has built a very impressive cow family with many females and has produced other donor females for our breeding program.

GEIS INVESTMENT 43’25

GEIS 43N rounds out the Investment sons, he is out of a Georgina cow that we are really impressed by her udder quality. He is a heads up attractive bull that has the genetic quality and possesses the ability to raise quality females.

GEIS BLACKMAN 80’20

GEIS BLACKMAN 65’25

We are very proud of this bull, he is out of a bull that we raised ourselves that goes back to the prominent Geis Backman 271’11 that was sold in the Geis Angus Dispersal to Kummer Farms and raised many quality females and stamped the same udder on every one. On the cow side he goes back to the April cow family. This bull on the top and bottom has the pedigree to back him up. For being one of the younger bulls in the sale we are very impressed about his performance along with his complete package. We are very proud and excited to offer this breeding piece.

Another April son out of 35E, this time out of a bull that we have used fairly heavily the last couple of years, Brooking National. We sold many National sons in the sale last year and have raised many females in our herd. Along with his three other maternal brothers in the sale he carries the same quality maternal characteristics that we love so much about the April cow family.

GEIS YEGUADA EL 3 TRIBUTE 32’24

GEIS 32N

Here is a bull that is complete outcross genetics for us, he is out of the $80,000 high selling donor cow that Yeguada El 3 from Mexico and us bought together from the MWC dispersal. This bull came in calf and he brought a new look for us. From a powerhouse of a cow family of MWC Rosebud 12G he has all the maternal characteristics to build females.

GEIS 63N is out of a home raised SITZ Major son that we raised and have walked on our heifers the last couple of years. Out of a heifer that we showed a couple years back that we are very high on possessing all the quality maternal traits that we are focusing to build

YOUNG DALE DIXON 104D

A bull that has caught our eye right from day one. Being out of a cow family full of donor cows, his mom herself is a cow that we have started to flush the last couple of years, his granddam is the real superstar, on her last year here on the farm producing 8 full brothers and three full sisters all who are powerhouse impressive breeding pieces. GEIS 23N isn’t far behind himself either, showing all the traits of his relatives growing into a potentially great breeding piece.

This is a Maternal brother to the leadoff High selling bull Geis She Said Yes 24’24 in our first sale last year. We showed GEIS 24M this last fall and won the Black Angus Bull show at the Barrhead Beef Bash qualifying for the Supreme at Farmfair International. Merit M’Brook Lass 8064F has been a very good producer for us since we bought her as a calf. Producing some very good females that have been sold in the Northern Select Female sale and now two very strong breeding bulls.

Another son out of one of our donor cows, this is DMM 49D’s Natural son to round out the Four Mile sons. Another 49D son that follows the pattern of the earlier flush mates, in his rugged performance while carrying the maternal potential as well.

Keeping 50% Semen Rights

Leading off the Heifer bulls here with a Syndicate son. Out of an LLB heifer that dad bought, dad looked high and low laying in the straw looking up trying to find the heifer with the best teat placement and no extras and he found her. She came here and gave us a very nice bull calf and then one morning we went out and found her not with us anymore. GEIS 22N is her one and only and from the beginning he has been one of dad’s favorites.

Final AnswerREFERENCE

Moving into another group of calving ease bulls with the Final Answer Sire group. KBJ Apex and KBJ Ultimate are bulls that have the calving ease quality, again bulls that would be trusted on larger heifers, one of the highest performing calving ease bulls we have to offer. Larger frame built bulls that are impressively built for calving ease and putting steers in your pen.

Here is a bull out of a cow line that started the whole reboot of Geis Angus Farm. The Pride cow family is something that we hold in high regard just for their raw performance and consistent production. This is a sure shot heifer bull that will fit in your heifer pen nicely and as he grows will also fit into your cow herd as well.

To round out the black bulls in the sale we

He excelled with his carcass and performance data. He had great feet and would stand at the top of any bull sale today. He produced a tremendous set of cows at Get-Along and Brox.
