Welcome to our 10 th on-farm bull sale...

and our 39th pen of bulls for sale at Excel. It is a very exciting time to be in the cattle business, and with that we are very proud to present our 2026 bull pen. This bull pen is extremely strong from top to bottom, and we have culled very hard. We are very proud of the success our prefix has accomplished in the past, with cattle being sent across Canada and providing strong returns on investment, as well as front pasture animals. We are constantly striving to improve our herd by bringing in new herd sires, AI sires, and females to continually test our genetics against cattle from across the country, and only allowing the top animals to be put into the Excellence Sale.

We AI 150 head each year on natural heats, while bringing in genetics from across Canada, the US, and Australia. Many of the most exciting Limousin sires were originally imported at Excel Ranches, and we continue to invest in genetics that advance our program as well as our customers. We only use sires that have high fertility, calving ease, capacity, docility and foot structure. At Excel, we believe in treating our cattle the same way commercial cattlemen do. If an animal is open or loses a calf, it is not retained. We travel all over the country

to source animals with strong foot shape to help ensure natural longevity. We have installed the 15 day natural AI program followed by a 45 day exposure to support natural fertility.

The bull pen is naturally fed to test for performance while also ensuring natural longevity and consistent results. The bull pen will not be the fattest around, but it is fed a diet meant for consistent and predictable results to work for everyone. The pedigrees in the pen were bred for easy performance, not a special pellet ration. We continually strive to have bulls the commercial sector looks for, easy doing yet still growthy, and our bull customers are known to top the market. Our bull pen is very female oriented, with pedigrees selected for actual calving ease, maternal calving ease, udder quality, and vigor.

Winter calving to spring calving can change actual birth weights, as well as age of dam. Use the EPDs as a guide when comparing herds, they are likely to be as reliable as actual BWs. As these databases grow each year, they become more reliable, with accuracies now more than quadruple what they were 10 years ago. As well, with the BOLT EPDs, use them with confidence

to compare breeds. You will find some of the bulls we have created are not only at the top of the Limousin breed for growth, but competitive across Exotic breeds while still maintaining great vigor. As producers striving for the best cattle, there are now often greater differences of phenotype within breeds than across breeds, so do not view these simply as Limousin and Angus genetics, but as Exotic and British cattle that we have worked hard to improve.

This is a video sale. Bulls will be on site for viewing, but will not be ran through a sale ring.

IN-HERD SEMEN INTEREST

Excel Ranches reserves the right to collect 100 doses of semen for in-herd use on any bull in the offering, at Excel Ranches’ expense and the new owner’s convenience.

SALE DAY PICK-UP CREDIT

If you bring your trailer and pick up your bulls sale day, or anytime up until Thursday, March 19, 2026, you will receive a $500 credit towards a purchase at our 2027 sale.

DELIVERY

Bulls will be delivered free of charge within 300 km of the ranch at the seller's convenience and owner's risk. If this delivery time is not convenient for the buyer, bulls can be picked up at the farm on or before April 15, 2026.

BOARDING

Excel Ranches will board any bulls staying at the farm free of charge until April 15, 2026. A boarding fee of $3.00 per bull per day will apply after that date. All bulls remaining at Excel Ranches must be insured.

SIGHT UNSEEN GUARANTEE

We understand how busy life can be with hockey, 4-H, calving cows, or frozen water bowls. If you’re unable to attend the sale, we have a fully guaranteed sight unseen plan. Just give Cody or our ring staff a call prior to the sale and we will discuss what you’re looking for and find a bull to meet your specific needs (you will have the final decision). Any purchases made in this manner will be 100% guaranteed for customer satisfaction.

HEALTH

All animals are on a full herd health and complete vaccination program. All bulls will have passed a semen test & breeding soundness exam prior to sale day.

Calves are given Nasalgen at birth, BoviShield Gold 1 Shot & Vision 8 prior to pasture and are boostered again in the fall at weaning. They receive Ivomec in the fall and are then treated with Boss in the winter prior to being sold. 2-year-olds have also received another booster of BoviShield.

All bulls have received their first dose of Fusoguard for foot rot protection at semen testing time.

Cattle sell under the standard Terms & Conditions of the Canadian Limousin Association.

LIABILITY

Liability for bulls passes to the buyer as soon as purchase is made, we reccommend insuring your purchase.

In today's bull sale world there is an unprecedented amount of information when it comes to making purchasing decisions! While selecting on phenotype and EPDs is extremely important, you can find so much value in selecting on indexing traits that are specific to your operation. We take pride in inputting all our data, and pay attention to the small details including gestation, fertility, calving intervals, foot quality, calf vigor and more. These factors all play a role in the science behind the choices we make, and will hopefully help you too when you are making a choice in selecting the right sire. Index $ valuation tools are a multi trait approach, designed to simplify your decision depending on your long term objectives. Keeping in mind it’s still just a selection tool in your toolbox to use along side other key factors such as phenotype. We don’t feed to create a phenotype, we breed to create the phenotype.

MATERNAL $ VALUATION - ($M)

An index expressed in dollars per head, that predicts the profitability differences from conception to the valuation of the direct progeny. This valuation will predict the likely hood for progeny to be profitable in maternally focused traits to improve profitability in herds that retain females. Adaptability, fertility, longevity and functional efficiency are key. The traits included in this Maternal $ Valuation are; calving ease direct, calving ease maternal, birth weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, milk, heifer pregnancy, stayability, gestation, docility and scrotal.

$ WEANED TERMINAL VALUE - ($WT)

An index expressed in $ per head, to predict difference in progeny due to more terminal type traits. This index is designed to improve profitability for cow/calf producers selling calves. In terminal animals, the fundamental traits remain vital. The traits included are weaning weight, docility, calving ease direct, birth weight, foot score, frame score, yearling weight, and scrotal.
