Welcome to the 26th Annual Double Bar D – Best of Both Worlds Bull Sale.

The Dimler family’s dedication to agriculture and the Simmental breed has never been stronger. With three generations actively involved and a fourth already up and coming, this is truly a family operation built for longevity. What began years ago under the guidance of Richard Dimler has grown into a cow herd that has not only stood the test of time but continues to adapt and evolve to meet the demands of today’s North American beef producers.

This year’s lineup once again starts where it all began —the fullblood bulls— and they set the tone for the entire offering. The Lot 1 bull comes out swinging, representing the strength, performance, and consistency that Double Bar D is known for.

Double Bar D has long invested heavily in both sides of the program: powerful walking bulls that service this elite cow herd, and strategic additions of new cow families through the purchase of top-end donor females. The result is a balanced, forward-thinking breeding program.

The red and black divisions feature the first sons of Capital and Lethal Weapon, and both sires have left their mark with an impressive, uniform set of bulls. Across all three divisions— fullblood, red, and black—the depth of quality and consistency remains as strong as ever in both the extra-age bulls and the yearlings.

Whether you are a seedstock producer or a progressive commercial cattleman, you will find bulls suited to your program in every pen.

You owe it to yourself—and your cow herd—to make the trip to Grenfell , where you’ll be met with outstanding hospitality and a high standard of Simmental bulls ready for your appraisal. Double Bar D takes great pride in a large base of repeat buyers, many of whom are now second-generation customers.

If you’ve never attended this sale before, rest assured the Dimler family stands firmly behind the bulls they sell—with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to their customers. If you are unable to be with us on sale day or need any assistance prior to, feel free to reach out to any of us on the T Bar team, as we are familiar with the offering and would be more than happy to assist you in any way we can.

CAPI TAL

Capital caught the eye of the purebred world in the fall of 2023. He gained his popularity by winning supreme All Breeds Champion at the Immortals Show in Stettler as the crowd favorite and continued his momentum to Agribition where he was declared grand Champion Bull.

A month later he then commanded a $240,000 sale price at FNL and we are so pleased to have him call DBD home. What really drew us in after analyzing Capital at Agribition was his perfect skull and crest, matched with so much natural thickness yet being so fluid in his motion.

Capitals pedigree is so current with the times as Caliber cattle continue to be at the forefront of the Simmental breed. The Sheila cow family has everything we admire in a donor female. Super udder, feet, big bodied and angular.

Capital continues to look the part and impresses every visitor as a young 3 year old bull.

At FNL 2025, Capital daughters were highly sought after with heifer calves commanding $65,000 and $18,000 from Wallgren Farms and DBD respectively.

We are very pleased with Capitals first calf crop as he sires beautiful females and outstanding beef bulls for you to appraise here at the Best of Both Worlds Bull sale.

Really soft made and attractive Capital calf. I think 464 is only going to get better from here on out. Dam is a low maintenance type of cow with longevity built into the pedigree.

Length and style to burn. Big yearling weight and comes from a royal cow family around here.

His Cobra x Payton dam is a personal favourite here and is only getting started!

Moderate and thick. These Capitals have great hair coats. It’s -46 with the wind chill as I’m writing this and the 2-weekold Capital calves seemed unfazed by it this morning. That’s worth something!

Capital bull with a ton of length and performance. Masculine look and incredible feet. Dam is a beautiful Perkin cow.

Boomer was a strategic purchase in the summer of ‘23 at the Family Matters sale to get some more “Flirt” influence in our herd. Boomer is a stud in the flesh, exhibiting length second to none and jaw dropping depth of body. His bull calves exhibit these same qualities, and it’s his females that really excite us for the future, reminding us of daughters that Boomers maternal great grandsire, the legendary SVS CAPTAIN MORGAN produced for many years, here and around the entire industry. Boomers progeny excel with a Boomer daughter from Ranciers topping FNL at $205,000.

BOOMER 512N

Impossible to ignore the sheer power in this Boomer son. Big boned and huge ribbed. Ranked #1 for weaning weight. Dam is an ‘A model’ but you’d never guess it.

Soggy capitalist son with great length. Full brother was the high selling Capitalist son last year sold To Jarret Bieber, Wolseley.

Length of body and structural soundness. Much like his C model dam. We love when bulls come right from older mothers that have proven themselves.

The last calf we’ll ever get from Dutchess 613D and he’s put together real nice. Dutchess produced an awesome CM son a few years back that sold to the Koberstein family. Reports from them have been great!

Big time performance and heavy haircoat. Dam is a bright young cow from Ryan Cook’s great herd. Going back to the original Chubs Flirt cow.

Solid built baldy bull. Length of spine and dam is as sound as they come.

The most moderate Capitalist son. Really thick built and deep bodied

Another really nicely made Capitalist son out of an older cow. 560A has really earned her keep around here. If there’s any cow that’s gonna stick around for 14+ years, good chance it’ll be a JF AMERICAN PRIDE daughter.

The Circle G Lariat bull calved like a dream and his calves really took off from there. 456 comes from a good milking first calver that helped him along to great performance numbers.

Really stylish and thick made bull. The 7909K sire is one we raised and used on heifers for a year before selling to great cattleman Rod Williams last spring. He’s an ES RIGHT TIME X STF ONYX et son that calved really well. With genetics like that the guesswork is done.

Meat machine! This bull is a stud and should sire heavy steers. Comes from a beautiful young fullblood cow with an udder built to last. He’ll be easy to find on sale day.

Who doesn’t love a good baldy? This young bull is as stylish as any bull in the sale and his young DBD Certified dam will make you stop and stare. Half fleck 7909 son with great presence and a good smooth shoulder

DONOR DAM WSF Hoop N Hollar

Here’s a bull we are very excited about. Dam 1083 is still as good of a bred heifer that we’ve ever seen in the flesh and she really shines through in 495. So extremely soft made and mellow but attractive at the same time. 495 can really make an impact on a herd whether you’re looking for calves to push the scales down or filling your replacement pen with the highest quality of heifers.
