W elcome to the 21st Annual Cutting Edge Bull Sale. It’s hard to believe how far things have come since the very first bull sale. Each year, we build on the decisions of the past, and when we look at this year’s offering, we couldn’t be prouder of the set of bulls we present to you. There has never been a better time to be in the cattle business. With record prices across the industry, it’s rewarding to see fellow producers receive a strong return on their investment and hard work.
We are a family-run operation, and that is something we take great pride in. From the cow herd to the crop side of the farm, everything is managed by our family. However, it’s only because of the continued support of our customers that we are able to do this together. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.
Our bulls are developed with longevity and functionality in mind. At weaning, they are pail-fed oats while grazing fall rye grass through September and most of October. They are then transitioned to a high-roughage TMR once penned for the winter, ensuring soundness and durability. These management decisions are made to produce easy-handling bulls that are built to go out and work for their new owners. From a cow base of just under 400 head, only the very best bulls make the cut.
This year we are excited to introduce a new major Angus sire group—the SAV Magnum 1335 sons. These bulls are packed with muscle and style while also offering an added calving-ease option, as all are out of first-calf heifers. Once again, we feature sons of our proven Aquifer sires, 29K and 43K, whose consistency continues to impress. Be sure to watch for the fall-born, extra-age 29K sons if you’re looking for a herd bull with the ability to cover more cows.
On the Simmental side, our Mader Brazen 819J herd sire has hit it out of the park again, producing thick-sided, softmade, good-haired bulls. For those seeking calving ease in the Simmental offering, be sure to evaluate the MRH 98H sons, a bull that worked exceptionally well on our heifers and whose progeny are shaping up to do the same. With that said, please don’t hesitate to give any of us a call or stop by anytime to view the bulls. We look forward to visiting with you and appreciate your interest in this year’s sale.
