• $100 off of your bull if taken home sale day

• All bulls are backed by the seller and guaranteed to be satisfactory breeders as per the Canadian Simmental Association Bylaws

• All bulls 12 months of age will be semen tested, palpated and scrotal measurement taken by an accredited vetrinarian. Information will be available sale day.

• All bulls returning to sellers’ farms MUST be insured. Bulls can be kept at the consignors farms at no cost until April 1, 2026. Delivery will be arranged as soon as it’s mutually agreed upon by the seller and purchaser. Bulls will be delivered free of charge within 300km of Sundre. Delivery beyond will be arranged at cost.

With such a busy sale calendar, it looked like our sale was going to be pushed into April. So to keep our sale date within March, we made the decision to go with the Farm Gate DLMS Online. We will be hosting an open house starting two days before the sale. Visitors are welcome, and we would love to see everybody.

I thought I would also give a quick explanation of the relationship between Bar CL Livestock and 2K Springs. Really, we run it as one operation with a few different families involved. Even our Verified Beef Plus Program and Herd Tracks incorporated into the program are all handled as one operation. So, if you’re looking at a bull, it really doesn’t matter which operation you have purchased from.

2K Springs is Larry and Julie Koop, Eldon and Kim Koop and their two boys. We also get a lot of help from Larry’s daughter, Robyn, who handles much of the bookkeeping for 2K and some of our joint stuff. Larry has an extensive background in business, and his experience has been a great help as we have grown our operations and numbers to the point where we will be gathering 200 head.

On the Bar CL side, it is myself, Linus, my wife, Shari Leedahl and our kids, Jaycee and Carlee. Although not actively involved, Shari is a big support and always willing to lend a hand when we need it. She has just recently opened up a new business called the Trailhead Wellness Collective in Sundre. Our oldest daughter, Jaycee, has always been very active with the herd and wants to continue to make it a part of her life. She is currently attending SAIT and is in her first year of the Graphic Design program. Carlee is in grade 11, very active in softball, and is involved with the Bergen 4H Club.

I think we have a great selection of bulls. They don’t all look the same, which is something we all strive to do, and we have something to offer everybody. We have been actively purchasing some very good females in the fall sales, along with semen packages and embryos, to drive our herd forward as quickly as we can. This has allowed us to offer some bulls that have really strong bloodlines, performance and calving ease, but perhaps not for the dollars you pay at an established herd program.

We think very highly of his dam and granddam and they have been 2 very successful producers for our herd. His dam has produced a bull for our sale almost every single year, all of which have been very similar in type and kind. Make sure to check out this guy!

751N is another bull who goes back to our Twin Chief cow purchase. His dam Miss Bar Cl 751F has produced a few bulls who we have sold in the sale throughout the years all of which have been built much like this guy. 751N is out of MOES Skinner 200K, a sire group we think very highly of. 751N is a deep body bull with lots of great pedigree to back him up.

362N is another bull along with both bulls 7N and 87N going back to the 548 cow family. 362N is sired by WLB Top Tier 456G who we have used on many of our heifers throughout the years. 362N has had that herd bull look to him since weaning. He is a smooth made bull with many great qualities that are topped of with that dark cherry red hair coat.

324N is sired by WLB Top Tier 456G who is a bull we have used on multiple heifers over the years. We are always super happy with the Top Tier bull calves because they are much like 324N. Nirvana is big balanced bull with lots of length and depth of body to him. Since weaning Nirvana has grown and definitely stands out to us. He has lots of bells and whistles and even has that additional white face.

Neon Moon is a bull we can see being a calving ease prospect. This smooth made hairy calving ease bull has so much going for him! We purchased his dam from Maxwell Simmentals as a bred heifer and we are very happy with her. Our belief that this guy will be a good calving ease bull is backed by his sire WLB Top Tier 456G who has been awesome to use on heifers for us throughout the past years. 429N is a bull whos bottom half of his pedigree goes back to the great BGS/BM Captain Scream 63D. Novel’s granddam Twin Chief Thyme 42T is a cow from our original group of twin chief cattle and she is a cow we could talk on and on about. 429N’s dam is one of the embryo calves we got from the flush we did with 42T and Captain Scream. Novel is a hairy dark red, white face bull who we think will be a very easy keeper.

Nash is sire by our herd sire Rendezvous Express 21H who is a very easy keeping bull who has sired many of the females in our herd throughout the years, as well as a few bulls that we have sold each year. 837N is a true beef bull, who we think will be an easy keeper just like his sire.

We purchased Noble’s dam WILC Lara 2L in 2024 from Wilcox Simmentals as a bred heifer. This guy is really smooth made and we think he could make a great calving ease prospect. He is in the top 10% of the breed for calving ease and the top 15% for birth weight. He himself was born at 73 pounds and he is sired by the popular Rust Henn Rambler who is also known for his

birthweights.

844N is a long and thick bull with great pedigree on both the top and bottom. 844N is sired by the outstanding $280,000 Mader Walk The Line 92J. North is the embryo calf from the powerhouse of a cow Springcreek Pearl 36H whos natural calf (36N) is also selling in the bull sale this year! When walking our herd his dam easily catches your eye with her structural correctness and overall eye-appeal. 844N is definitely hard to miss in the bull pen and top top things off he is in the top 10% of the breed for both weaning weight and yearling weight.

This bull has been one who has looked awesome since he hit the ground. He is stacked with great pedigree. We purchased these embryos from Westbrook Ventures. 860N’s dam JR Brooke 16B is an attractive big bodied female and he is sired by RF Boomer 262K who came out of the great Rancier Farms program. 860N has a full sister in our heifer pen and she too we are very happy with. 860N is in the top 15% of the breed for yearling weight and the top 20% for weaning weight.

304N is out of Mader Opal 4L who we purchased from the great Mader Ranches program as a bred heifer. He is sired by Mader The Rookie 204K who goes back to the popular Mader Walk This Way 224B. 304N is in the top 3% of the breed for weaning weight and the top 2% for yearling weight! Nifty is a very attractive solid black bull with lots of length and great structure.

Neptune is a very neat individual in our bull pen this year. We purchased his dam ANDI Black Valentine 3025L from the Westway Farms Female sale in 2024. She is a big framed, long bodied cow who we really like. Neptune has some different breeding on his paternal side. This guy has great calving ease and birthweight EPD’s and still achieves great weaning weight and yearling weight EPD’s. Make sure you take a look at Neptune!

Milwaukee is a flashy big bodied feature in our bull pen this year with that extra age advantage. He was born in late March of 2024 but we saw his potential at a young age so we decided to keep him to sell as a 2 year old. Milwaukee is sired by Scott Horatio 7H who sired many of our favorite females and bulls since we purchased him and this guy will be the last son sold sired by Scott Horatio 7H. Milwaukee’s dam is a cow with some awesome pedigree with CMS Soda Pop 417B on her maternal side and WS Stepping Stone B44 on her paternal side. Miss Bar CL Jade 420J is a cow who definitely stands out with her chrome, structure and picture perfect udder. Milwaukee is a bull who expresses great length and depth of body and he is packaged in an awesome chrome package

Nemo has been a favorite of mine from day one. His dam is a big-bodied cow going back to Twin Chief Bloodlines. We changed up our breeding program a bit last year by using our amazing Herd Sire, BEE Primo, on all of the purebred cows. This group of calves have been a real nice combo of Fullblood/Purebred. They are thick made and polled, have very reasonable calving ease and increased the milk numbers on our purebreds.

This guy is very similarly made to Nemo. He is out of our sleep easy heifer F.B. Polled bull, Wizard. He is a really nice option for anyone looking for a heifer bull or even just calving ease on the big-cow herd. This guy is very tame and has been hand fed all winter. It sure quiets them down and makes for easy, enjoyable handling.

Nattalie is my favorite fullblood heifer. She is solid red, has a nice thick square build but is still very feminine in her make. She would fit right in for the purebred breeder wanting to outcross some genetics. The Wizard offspring seem to have very calm personalities and are a pleasure to work with.

1. Visit https://farmgatetimedauctions.ca, then click on the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minute if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after 6 PM will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished.

5. Within 24 hours of the sale close DLMS will contact winning bidders via email with an invoice payable to the consignors. Transfer of papers and delivery will be arranged with each consignor upon sale completion.

What is racehorse style sale close? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

How will extended bidding work? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
