Welcome to the 4th annual Country Roots Bull Sale!!!
I honestly can’t believe it’s already the 4th one, it just doesn’t seem real. In 2014 we went out and purchased 4 purebred black Simmental cows - Amanda and I bought 3 and Pat bought 1. We had no idea what we were getting into. We had really no intention of anything even close to what we have done, we just thought it would be cool to have a few papered cows. I’ve always loved genetics and trying to cross different genetics to try and get the best possible outcome.
Well here we are in 2026 and we have over 60 bulls in the catalog! We are very proud of the cow herds we have built over the past decade. We have always ran commercial cattle alongside the purebreds and have never lost sight of the importance in sound, functional, easy doing cattle. As cattle producers, our biggest expense is feed, so feed efficiency cattle is one of the most important parts in being a profitable operation.
It’s an incredible time to be a part of the cattle industry with record prices that still don’t seem real. It’s so nice to see so much positivity within the industry with more demand for beef than ever and a record low cow herd in North America. It sure looks like these prices are going to stick around.
We are so thankful for the continuous support in our program and want to say a heartfelt thank you to all those who have supported our program over the years. This is by far our largest set of bulls on offer and also the most consistent in terms of quality. It’s not easy trying to grow numbers and keep the quality high but we truly feel that we have accomplished just that. All the bulls have had a 100K DNA test to improve the accuracy of their EPDs, they have all been sire verified and have had a Homo Polled and Coat Colour test done as well. We are very proud of this set of bulls and females and can’t wait for you all to see them. We welcome visitors to come out to the farm and have a look at the bulls before we move them into town for the sale. They always look the best in their own environment.
We are pleased to announce that Pat and Kennedy are finally engaged and we couldn’t be more excited to “officially” welcome Kennedy to the family. She is an incredible person that is always willing to help with everything, does it all with a smile on her face and a cheerful attitude which is how we all like to do things. I’ve always said that you can make almost any job fun if you’re with the right people and have the right attitude.

No Limits has been leaving a mark on the Simmental breed with offspring topping sales all across the country. He is one of those bulls that seems to work well on any cow. His calves have incredible growth, awesome foot quality and a great temperament. I don’t know if I’ve seen a bull that makes his calves as consistently long bodied as No Limits does, you can pick his calves out just by the length of spine they have. His first set of daughters are now in production and they are making very nice cows.

A set of twin half blood bulls out of a real nice angus cow we got from Crosby Cattle co. These are the only two half blood bulls this year and they are real nice. 19N is the sharp fronted and attractive blaze faced bull and 20N is the more rugged power house of the two that is HUGE middled and real stout.
Burnout has bred very well for us. His calves are very vigorous at birth and have a ton of performance. Hard to find a bull that can produce great females and bulls alike but we are finding Burnout is doing just that. He is an impressive bull to lay eyes on. Big framed, so much presence, travels like no other and stands on a big square foot. He will increase frame size and make them sound from the ground up.

Incredible set of flush brothers packed full of meat and muscle. I have been a big fan of these 3 right from the beginning. They are very hard to fault and they are so consistent I would just love to put all three of these bulls on a cow herd together and see the consistency in the calf crop. These boys are all extremely deep bodied, loose hided, and big hipped. They are backed by one of the best cows we have on the farm! We purchased her from the historic R Plus dispersal a few years back. Her udder and foot quality is impeccable, and she’s overwhelming in terms of body mass. I really like this bull and think he would work well on a pen of heifers but definitely has enough grow he could go out and breed cows and leave an awesome set of calves.

Great calving ease EPD’s on this guy being double digit on calving ease and negative on his birth weight number. He does have an actual BW of 80 lbs but he is out of a big impressive cow so I wouldn’t let that number worry me on this heifer safe bull.

We are extremely happy with the few Four Mile calves we have had and will continue to use him in our AI program. 101N came as an in dam purchase when we bought a group of cows from the Yarrow Creek dispersal. The 68C Burnout flush just clicked so well. All four of the flush mates offered in this sale are all top notch calves. Outstanding heifer here out of one of our too producing cows. The 474H cow just doesn’t miss, we have sold everyone of her natural calves through this sale, which is probably poor management on my part as we should be keeping her daughters not selling them but we are committed to offering the ones we know will work. She has averaged almost $19,000 on her first three calves to sell! This is a pretty cool heifer. Incredible birth to weaning spread on this girl matched with an incredible EPD profile. This heifer has brood cow written all over her.
