Welcome to our 16th Annual Bull Sale! It’s a great time to be a part of the livestock industry. e prices we’re seeing in the commercial sector and the demand for our product has been a long time coming! ank you to all the bidders, buyers and everyone who has attended our past sales.
We feel we have put together a very useful and high quality set of bulls for your appraisal. We have everything from power bulls to some easier calving options, reds, blacks, and eckvieh. Last fall we took three red bulls out as part of our show string. ey stood strong in some very competitive classes at both Farm Fair and Agribition. As a group they were named Reserve Senior Champion pen at the Medicine Hat Pen Show. On the black side we may be down in numbers to prior years but not to sacri ce quality as it was a heifer kind of year. e eck bulls are once again a very strong set as well.

e bulls have been developed on the same program as years past. If it isn’t broken why x it? ey always have a feeder full of alfalfa/brome hay and are pail fed a 14% textured ration along with brown oats in the “feed pen”. ey are housed in a large hilly pen that provides lots of exercise and our feeding method provides a great deal of human interaction. No feet have been trimmed. As always it is a pleasure to work with Jessica Hextall from Trouw Nutrition. Mineral for our entire herd comes from Bulls Eye Feeds under the recommendations of Matt Criddle. As in the past the bulls have been developed on the Zoetis herd health program, have received Ivomec and Clean Up II.
Joining us once again is Abound Livestock and Gold Bar Livestock with an elite, powerful set of Black Angus bulls.
Every fall we like to take the opportunity to exhibit at Farm fair and Agribition. It’s a great chance to catch up with our “show family”, see what’s out there for new genetics and showcase our own. is past year we also decided to exhibit at the Medicine Hat Pen Show, the feedback on our pen of three bulls was truly awesome. anks to Joe and Aaron for being our traveling partners and helping out whenever needed. Also a big thanks to our son Brody and longtime friend Joho for looking a er things at home while we’re away.
ank you to our 2026 sponsors: Farm Credit Canada, TD Bank, Trouw Nutrition, Masterfeeds Moose Jaw Coop and Young’s Equipment for the use of the BBQ. Also thank you to Pittman Print Media, Twin View Livestock and Golden read Livestock Images for putting together our catalog , pictures and videos.
We welcome you to the farm anytime for a herd tour, go through the bulls and evaluate our program. Bohrson Marketing will once again Nate and Cody and Don Oberg will be on hand to conduct our sale. Feel free to reach out to any of them or us if you have any questions.
As always, join us the night before for a casual viewing and refreshments. Pizza will be served at 5pm. On sale morning, come for co ee and donuts along with our delicious steak dinner. Hope to see everyone then!!

Welcome to the 16th annual sale! It’s hard to believe how fast the years go by but here we are still looking ahead and planning for the future. We are pleased to be working along side City View Simmentals and guest Gold-Bar Livestock once again. e sale is held in a video format with the number one goal being less stress for the cattle and to provide a laid back atmosphere for everyone to enjoy a hearty meal and fellowship before and a er the sale.

is business has allowed us to meet some of the best people in the purebred and commercial industries. I just want to say congrats to everyone for hanging on and seeing our way of life get the rewarding prices we all deserve! Cows are talked about daily around here. What worked, what didn’t, who’s next and who’s gone. A mother cow with high maternal traits, good udders, and sound feet are very important to us. Our herd is for the most part still young and these mother cows are still developing themselves as well as raising calves that meet the mark in some less than ideal conditions. Put them in a good scenario and things could get pretty exciting I think. Disposition of our cows and bulls is taken very seriously as we have a very actively involved 3 year old that helps with all aspects of the cattle. From carrying feed pails, to riding her gator through the bull pen, to screaming through the barn like a dinosaur, our cattle have seen and heard it all.

e bulls have been developed on a textured 14% ration from Trouw and the best hay we can produce. ey spend their time in a 20 acre pasture with steep banks and we space the hay feeders to make them walk as much as possible so they are hard muscled, t and ready to go to work in all conditions. anks to Jessica Hextall for making sure we are always looked a er nutrition wise.
is past summer we were fortunate to be able to acquire the remainder of the Ivanhoe cattle. I am sure the barn cats there are livin’ large now that the old barn is quiet. We can’t thank Ron and Marilyn enough for the opportunities they have sent our way since the start of Abound Livestock back in 2017 and we couldn’t have done it without them.
As always, you are more than welcome to come for a tour at Abound anytime where we take pride in what we do and what you see is what you get! We aren’t perfect and there are no ashy show cattle, just realistically managed cattle that work for us. anks again to everyone has supported us in the past and we can’t wait to get to visit with everyone.
Talk to you soon, Brian, Lisa and Ca ie

Here is one of the younger bulls in the o ering but a very impressive bull. is Playbook son is a stout, dense made bull that has lots of eye appeal. You can’t help but stop and admire this bull when he gets out on the move. His dam is a daughter of Harvestor 66D, a bull that we used widely in our program for many years. Females are top notch mothers with good udders, easy eshing, and just all around honest hard working mama cows.
Lot 36
Playbook 512N is a perfect calving ease option. He is sired by our walking bull Hi Low Playbook 46L. A bull that we have used on both our purebred and commercial heifers with great success. His dam is a granddaughter of S A V Rainfall, one of the most widely used calving ease bulls in the Angus world. Playbook 512N is densely made with lots of hair, large scrotal, a good temperament and a frame score that will keep in him your heifer pen for years to come!
Harvestor 66D, grandsire
Ivanhoe Royal Pride 52B, maternal sib to BARN 307L
Playbook 503N is an absolute meat machine. Starting with the essentials, he has an excellent foot with a wide base and lots of bone. Pro ling much like his sire, he has plenty of mass and muscle expression, an explosive top, and a moderate frame. e maternal side of this bull comes packing some punch and this young dam raised a hell of a good one for her rst crack!

ELLA MINA 315L
ELLA MINA 5A
Out of a rst calf heifer, Playbook 524N is a very thick bodied, solid made calf with a great foot composition. In typical fashion of this sire group, this bull has a middle of the road frame size and solid EPD pro le. His dam is a Jack Daniel daughter and we really like these young females. ey have good udders and teat size, exceptional temperaments, and excellent mothering abilities. You can count on this more calving ease option to make sure that your rst calvers o spring come easy and perform.
Despite our best e orts to get these bulls clean for picture day…shit happens. Playbook 513N is your calving ease specialist. His dam, Pollyanna 308L is a beautiful young female with a picture perfect udder and a very feminine style. e Pollyanna cow family has very high maternal calving ease values which always helps to keep birth weights in check. Here is a bull with a nice moderate frame which really showcases his dimension and shape. If you want a sleep easy
for your heifer pen, here is your guy!

Here is just a March 10th calf that keeps getting better and better by the day. It’s always exciting to watch these younger bulls grow, develop and mature over the winter. He really showcases the true Jack Daniel features with that frame that allows them to get out and move, feet that are made for longevity, a disposition that makes them easy to handle, and a smooth muscle pattern that will put some style in the calf crop. e Lassie cow family is no strangers to raising bulls for our sales. is year we have two maternal sisters Lassie 915G and Lassie 205K, dam of lot # 45, both showcasing Jack Daniel sons in the o ering. Max 530N is a very honest well put together bull and he is the perfect man for the job if you want to add some frame and length. With a respectable birthweight, a solid EPD pro le and lots of eye appeal, this bull doesn’t push any extreme tests but at the same time just does everything right!

Most people know that we like to play with re sometimes and Max 531N is a bull that bleeds power. He stands on a strong foot with tree trunk legs and has an incredible wide top. He went about a week passed his due date so his birth weight crept up a bit but we aren’t going to lie, on the right cows this bull is throwing you 100 lbs calves and nothing but pay weight steers come fall. We really like how consistent these Jack Daniel bulls pro le. Cleaned skulled, good neck extension and very smooth made. One of the key qualities that we will not budge on as a producer is foot quality. As environmental conditions continue to put pressure on pasture and water quality, it goes to show everyday the importance of having cattle that have a solid foot composition so they walk. At the age of 5, Jack Daniel 9J still has an impeccable foot and passes along those same qualities to his progeny.

is is Lassie 205K’s second calf and her second time raising a bull for the sale. ese Alcatraz females are moderate made with lots of milk and no doubt put everything they have into raising their calf. Here is another March born calf but doesn’t give up anything that his older pen mates have to o er.
Here is calf #10 for the Ivanhoe Black Lucy 41B cow and we think she keeps giving it her all at raising powerhouse bulls just so we never have a reason to send her to town! Mama cows like this who are made to withstand whatever Mother Nature throws their way and consistently raise top end calves are your true mama cows. ey just can’t do that and have functional longevity unless they have all the core fundamentals in place. GBL 101N is the result on an “in dam” purchase from Sandra Je ery. His Mama is built as good as it gets - superior feet and a beautiful udder. is bull is a great combination of a light birthweight followed by an accelerated growth curve. He’ll work in either the heifer or cow pasture probably for the next 10+ years.
GBL 211N was unfortunately kissed by mother nature. However, should he ever lose his tag, it will be pretty easy to remember what year in February he was born! His moderate-framed Bravo dam has the best udder in the herd. If you follow the show circuit, his granddam was also the 2018 RBC Beef Supreme Champion Female at Agribition. is handsome devil will dance with the heifers for years to come.
Welcome to the 2026 catalogue edition! And thank you for taking the time to peruse our o ering. ree of our bulls are sired by our latest herd sire Freyburn Temptation 97L. Temptation was chosen for maternal attributes - with HF Tiger 5T and U2 Erelite 109Z in the pedigree, there is no doubt that we will want to keep every daughter. His calf crop has been consistently good for hair coat, performance and temperament. We can’t wait to see what the future brings for his progeny. ank you to the following Buyers who invested in Gold-Bar Genetics in 2025: Deer Hill Ridge Angus Farm / Log &
