Welcome to the second annual National Select Sale! The proceeds from last years sale went toward sending two teams to compete in the Young Breeder Competition at the World Hereford Conference in the USA. We have a variety of items in this year’s sale that have been generously donated by Hereford breeders from coast to coast. This past year, in alignment with the Better Your Beef Strategy, the Canadian Hereford Association board of directors approved moving forward with the creation of the Canadian Hereford Foundation.
The Foundation is designed to bring together the Hereford breed for the purpose of advancing youth development, research, and education. The Hereford breed has been a leader in junior programs in Canada through Bonanza for nearly 50 years. This next step is designed to do even more for juniors but also for the NextGen age group that will lead the breed into the future. We believe that developing our young people into leaders and lifelong Hereford enthusiasts will benefit all of us.
We thank all those who contributed their time, donated auction items, provided sponsorship, and placed bids on the donated items. Thank you for your generous support.
Regards,

MICHAEL LATIMER CHA Executive Director

Andrew Kopeechuk and Jessy Milne-Smith are 2nd and 4th generation livestock producers located north of Douglas, MB. We raise purebred Hereford and Black Angus cattle and operate a Commercial herd based with Hereford x Angus x Simmental cows under the name of RSK Farms and Rideau Angus Farms.

When a bull strides into the arena as a carload anchor and the crowd freezes in awe, you know he’s special!! We were beyond excited to acquire our next herdsire, Harvie EXCLUSIVE ET 43M from the 2025 NWSS Champion Hereford Carload.
His dam is one of the most proven females in the Hereford breed and his sire has made a splash. Exclusive is power and performance, backed by a predictable and proven pedigree! This will be one of the only chances to acquire Exclusive semen for the 2026 breeding season. If you want to add power, performance, predictability and improve structure, than look no further.
Semen is qualified for Canada and the US, and stored at Alta Genetics.
Owned with Steven Knutson, Bujold Farms and Harvie Ranching.
Together we breed around 240 head annually and help with the cropping side which consists of 1300 acres of annual crops and 1000 acres of pasture, hay and silage.

RSK Farms and Rideau Angus Farms uses AI and ET breeding strategies to source some of the breed’s top genetics and in turn use our top producing females to create quality offspring that display improved consistency, performance maternal traits and carcass. Our herd are true beef cows, developed over generations of sound breeding, elite genetics and balanced traits. Genetics from both farms have been consigned to many sales over the past years and can be found throughout North America and the Globe. We have had great success over the years showing and exhibiting cattle across the country exhibiting numerous national champion and reserve champion females and bulls.
RSK/RAF is proud to host the Elite Genetics Bull Sale in March as well as host the Elite Genetics Online Production Sale which features our best females in October. Both sales are at the RSK sale facility north of Douglas, MB. We always encourage visitors to stop in and see the herd and what we have to offer.

Cattle Co.

ANL Polled Herefords owned by Anthony and Anne Lischka, registered their first Hereford in 1957 and have been active in the Hereford breed since that date having just hosted their 30th Annual Female Sale with guests Glenlees Farm, Brooks Farms and McCoy Cattle. The third Sunday in March is set aside for the Annual Bull Sale with Brooks Farms.
ANL is currently running about 300 cows, each year attending CWA and with the new generation, Jeremy and Rachelle and their boys purchasing the farm, they are now taking in Manitoba Ag Ex. As well ANL has shown many years at Denver, and a few times travelling to Edmonton.

After this past winter and a big volume of semen in storage, for the first time to the public we offer semen on the very popular Mohican Handy Man 40K Bull.
Handy Man him self has a great set of feet and legs with the right amount of bone and set to his legs. As well as a big foot, with a deep heel. Very deep sided, big ribbed with exceptional style. He has the pigmentation, short marking and dark cherry red colour that many are looking for in a herd bull. In the two years we have used him, he has produced far beyond our expectations in all categories. He sires cattle that are low in birth weight and short gestation. More importantly he also adds performance into his calves. He simply does a lot of thing right in our minds.
Owned with Mohican West Polled Herefords & Brooks Farms

C ARLO 2135 ET was the 2023 high-selling bull from the Colyer Hereford Production Sale, after being a member of the 2023 National Western Stock Show Champion Pen of 3 and prior to being named 2024 National Western Champion Polled Bull.
ARLO’s combination of outstanding maternal pedigree, premier genetic predictions and visual distinction made him a valuable sire in the Little Fort program. Prominent pigment, muscle shape, boldness of rib and body length set his sons apart, while daughters are sound, attractive and maternal in their character.
Genetically, he charts strong figures for yearling, milk, scrotal, udder quality, fertility, ribeye and marbling.
Buyer to pay all shipping cost.

The Jim family of Little Fort Herefords of British Columbia were one of four breeders to purchase the Canadian semen rights on ARLO and have utilized him extensively through AI and ET. Little Fort Herefords have been tremendous supporters of many Hereford initiativesincluding the Keith Gilmore Foundation, Alberta Hereford Showcase and now offering to support the Canadian Hereford Foundation. They are longstanding consignors to the Williams Lake Bull Sale and market Hereford and Polled Hereford bulls off their beautiful ranch adjacent to Hwy 5 at Little Fort.
