FARM LOCATED IN CEYLON, SK

We’re excited and humbled to welcome you to our very first bull sale. Although this is our first sale we have been involved in the angus breed for 18 years now dating back to when I was hired by Justin Morrison and Roger Hardy in 2008 as the herdsman at Soo line cattle co in Midale that later evolved to being the herdsman @ Brooking Angus in 2017. In the fall 2018 we purchased our own place and in the 2020 we set out to start Burnett Cattle and work closer to home for Mark and Ashlee Vermuelen. Over those years of experience that we’re thankful for I learnt that quality over quantity should be a priority. Our herd now consists of a small group of donor quality purebred cows and 60 commercial cows. We put our focus on the very best cow family’s in the breed and mated with mature proven herd sires. The offering consists of mainly ET offspring giving consistency with several full and 1/2 brothers. As Kelli and I both have off farm jobs; we have a keep it simple management approach . The purebred pairs and their bull calves are managed and graze right along side the commercial herd with no creep. We strive to select cattle that are naturally stout easy keeping cows that raise heavy calves. This group of bull calves were weaned on Sept 10 coming off native pasture with an average actual weaning weight of 928 lbs.
Over the last 5 years we have marketed our females through the Angus Collection Sale with 6 females averaging $21,000. We’re excited to offer their brothers in this sale and feel they are an excellent set of herd bull candidates suited for both Purebred and Commercial herds. We invite you to come and tour through to bulls but we understand everyone is busy this time of year. If you cannot make it we’d be more than happy to go over the bulls with you and help select the bull that is the best fit. The count down to the sale is on and we look forward to working with both new and repeat customers.
Thanks ,
Alastair
& Kelli Burnett

Welcome to the 1st Annual Online Bull Sale for Burnett Cattle. It is with great excitement that we welcome you to the inaugural online sale for Burnett Cattle. Alastair, Kelli and family have poured their passion for the cattle industry and the Angus breed into building a program that reflects discipline, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
The Burnett program is built on a powerful foundation of elite Angus females, with a strong emphasis on structural soundness — particularly foot quality and udder quality — combined with true Angus character. Their cow herd is comprised of productive, attractive females backed by strong, proven cow families that consistently rise to the top. This disciplined approach to female selection has created a program centered on longevity, maternal strength, and realworld functionality.
The nine Angus bulls offered in this first annual sale are a direct result of that strict breeding criteria. Each bull represents a careful mating decision, combining outstanding cow families with some of the most exciting AI sires in the industry today. The result is a uniform, highquality set of bulls that offer performance, phenotype, and predictability. Consistency is a hallmark of the Burnett program. These bulls are structurally correct, balanced, and built to go to work. They offer the kind of maternal strength and structural integrity that will add value to any progressive operation, while maintaining the look and character that define the Angus breed.
Alastair and Kelli’s passion for Angus cattle is evident throughout this offering. Their attention to detail, commitment to continuous improvement, and focus on building cattle the right way have positioned Burnett Cattle for long-term success. This first annual sale is not just a milestone — it is a reflection of years of thoughtful breeding decisions and hard work.
We encourage you to study this offering with confidence. The foundation is strong, the breeding is intentional, and the quality is evident. We congratulate the Burnett family on their inaugural sale and wish them continued success as they build a program that will positively impact the Angus breed for years to come. If any of us from BMS can answer any questions or assist in any way possible, please reach out Best Regards,
The Bohrson Marketing Team

Leading things off we have a group of 4 flush mates from our number one cow ; Beauty 7100. If you talked to me a year ago I probably told you how impressive these Emerald baby’s were right from birth. These power heavy weight cow bulls are hairy, big ribbed, long bodied, muscular with awesome feet. These guys are all proud one the move holding their heads well while still being strong topped. These boys came off their mothers on native pasture on Sept 10 with an impressive average actual weaning weight of 958 lbs without creep with the lot 1 leading the way at 1020 lbs. The Beauty 7100 donor cow has been nothing short of amazing for us. Shes a wedge shaped female that is massive in her rib shape, long bodied, great uddered and exceptional footed. At the start of her career she raised 4 natural born heifer calves that went on to average $21,000 with a high of $34,000; all of which I wish we could have back. That being said we will breed 11 of her daughter this coming breeding season. These brothers sire; Emerald, one of the industry’s most highly regarded sires for breeding quality sons and females that are now in production raising the bar to a higher standard. Each one of these brothers has taken a turn throughout the year being the favourite and we look forward to seeing your pick come sale day.

When we did the flush to National I remember Dave Longshore telling me how good it would work. The calves were only 2 weeks old when I texted Dave to say how awesome they looked. Coal black, Shaggy haired, square bodied and all ready looking like herd bull material. Well it’s 13 months later and I’m still excited. These bulls are masculine with big crests and ripped with muscle from front to back. They stand square on a good foot and proud with a classic angus herd bull skull. These are the kind of bulls that look absolutely tremendous standing in a group of cows. In 2021 and 2023 we sold 2 3/4 sisters in the Angus Collection Sale for $25,000 and $34,000. The Beauty 7100 cow simply doesn’t miss and has been outstanding for us. Combine that with Rose 1019 on the bottom side makes these brother not only powerful but highly maternal as well. It’s going to be exciting to see where these 2 brothers end up and the progeny they produce.

BROOKING ROSE 201 Maternal Grand Dam

BAR-E-L ERICA 74A
Paternal Grand Dam
Here’s a bull that we’ve been excited about for a long time. He’s masculine with a ton of muscle shape while remaining square in his build. We admire him for his sound structure, good feet, docility, soft hair, and good head. With his true herd bull appearance I can’t help but think about how awesome he’ll look as mature bull out with cows. On the maternal side of things this bull comes with a pedigree full of some of the most influential and valuable females in the entire industry, Rose 9076, 201, 918 & Erica 74A. His dam; Rose 9076 is one the most stunning and treasured females in the Brooking program that consistently produces progeny with power and the high end phenotype that we strive to replicate. External Law is building steam and is becoming highly regarded for producing high quality cattle. This bull is also complimented by his 2 flush sisters that stand among the best we have ever raised and will be a key part in our program moving forward.

A calving ease anthem son that isn’t hard to find in the pen. He’s a hard one to fault when you admire his length, muscle , overall smoothness and large scrotal while being excellent on the move. If this bull makes it on your list his mother will seal the deal when you see her. A beautiful Lookout daughter thats long bodied, perfect uddered, big hipped, hairy , sleek necked, good footed and youthful for her age while being a cow that ranks in the top of the breed for calving ease. 7146 is also the dam to one of our most productive young cows in the herd that’s raised 2 Angus Collection females selling for $16,500 and $30,000. Not only did these Anthems come out small but they chub up fast and keep up the pace with the cow bulls in the offering. A for sure herd bull candidate in the making here.

Here’s an Anthem son that would be an excellent choice for the heifer pen. He’s deep ribbed and smooth built from front to back while maintaining a masculine crest and skull with a large scrotal. This is a bull we love for his breed character and when you see his mother you’ll know exactly where he gets its from. A gorgeous female with an ideal silhouette you can spot from anywhere. At 11 years of age she looks as good as ever and has stuck to her first AI service every single year. She raised a very attractive 3/4 sister that sold to 606 Livestock for $10,000 as well as a herd sire for $27000 to Rivercrest Angus and another to G2 at Macoun. This Anthem son brings a highly decorated maternal package as well combing the now deceased 3145 with the Forever Lady’s tracing back to the famed 57D.

HOW TO BID IN A TIMED AUCTION
Now that you are logged in and your account phone number / email is verified you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.
PLACE NEXT BID
To place the next bid on the item, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.
MAX
To place a max bid you put your max bid in the second box listed as “Max Bid” on the item, and then click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the max amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidential from the seller during the sale process.
If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder
is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot competing against each other.
If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch with out having to scroll through the entire list you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button, by clicking this “watchlist” Icon that item is added to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of just your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.
Most Farm Gate Timed Auction sales close racehorse style with extended bidding.
Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.
When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
After the clock has gone to “ENDED” and no bidding has occurred for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot. Or as the winning bidding you can contact the sale consignor / sale manager to confirm payment instructions.
Please make sure that your account info is up-to-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this is how the billing is sent to Sale manager and/or Sale consignor.
