Tim and I are excited to have our first offering of bulls and semen for sale through DLMS Farmgate. While we may seem ‘new ‘ to the industry, our roots run deep in the cattle/agriculture industry. For four generations our family has raised Hereford and Hereford influence cattle on the farm at Blaine Lake, SK.
We pride ourselves in raising cattle that work for the commercial and purebred cattle producers. We like the longevity and versatility of a good bull in our herd, that works with our F1 cows and our purebred cows.
All our cattle are vaccinated and dewormed in accordance with our herd health protocol. We have a great team of veterinarians at Norsask Veterinary Group that help keep our herd in tiptop health.
It is an exciting time to be in the cattle industry and we would be honored to have our genetics in your herd. While this is our first sale, it will not be the last. We are already looking at the yearlings we are keeping back and the newborn calves and making plans!
Brookhill’s History: The first Purebred Herefords was purchased in the 1960's. John & Christine Serhienko took over the family farm with their daughter, Lorraine in the early 1980's. While purebred Herefords were always a part of the herd, the attraction of the F1 crosses started a larger commercial operation. In 2019, Tim Wood joined Lorraine and plans were soon in motion for the expansion of the purebred side. Tim’s three children immediately took to the cattle and joined 4-H and never turned back. Lorraine and Tim were married in 2022, at the farm.
The cow herd is a place of peace for all of us and its common to see any of us walking through the herd, scratching the ‘pets’ and sitting on bunks/fences just watching the cattle. We do have a behaviour policy on our farm, since we now have both seniors and kids working with the cattle.
Over the decades, we have had raised beef, dairy, pigs, and chickens. The farm is currently a 2500-acre grain farm, with approximately 20 purebred cows and 30 commercial cows. We use our commercial cows to feed our purebred habit, make some 4-H steers, great replacement heifers and to have a few recipient cows for embryos
We welcome Just Acre Farms as our guest consigners this year. They are great people, dedicated to the livestock industry and really enjoy what they do.

Please join us at the farm March 21 or 22 from 10am until dark to view the bulls and our herd. We would be happy to tour you. You can stay to visit, as we will have food and beverages available. If you are unable to make it sale weekend, please contact us for viewing.
Wintering/Delivery
Bulls will continue to be developed free of charge and delivery dates will be determined. All bulls must be delivered or picked up by May 30 , unless other arrangements are made. Free delivery within 500km of our farm. For bulls going to the US, we will cover the export testing. th
CHA Registration
Each purebred animal is registered with the Canadian Hereford Association. The registry certificate will be transferred to the buyer after payment has been made. All semen lots are in the domestic noncertificate program. The semen is stored at Bovigen. Semen will be released to the buyer after payment has been made.
Breeding Soundness Payment
All bulls in the sale will be Bull Breeding Soundness Evaluated (semen test). If a bull is a deferred decision it will be re-tested prior to delivery.
Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale. Insurance is recommended but not required. We will be invoicing each purchaser and payment can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer. Live lots and semen will be released upon payment.

Just Acre Farms is a mixed grain and cattle operation located west of Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
Our cattle herd consists of commercial Hereford, Charolais, and Angus cows, as well as a small herd of purebred Herefords. We strive to raise functional cattle with sound feet, good udders, and strong maternal traits.
Our Hereford cattle are exhibited at several fall shows each year, including Harvest Showdown, Manitoba Ag Ex, and Canadian Western Agribition. We sell bulls and commercial females by private treaty off the farm each year.
