CONDITIONS AND GUARANTEE: All entries sell with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of any unlikely dispute whatever, regular TERMS AND CONDITIONS recognized with Sales Management shall apply, and in accordance with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association Code of Ethics.
CATTLE INSPECTION: All carry permanent identity tags, corresponding to Sale Lot Numbers. All shall be available for inspection prior to sale.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.
EVERY ANIMAL: Sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final.
RELEASE: No cattle will be released until the conclusion of the sale. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.
INSURANCE: Ownership risk to purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s hammer falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the Clerk’s desk from the appointed representatives on sale day.
TERMS OF SALE: Are cash or cheque at par, payable to Clerks of the Sale on Sale Day. No release will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made. We reserve the right to withhold animals from export shipment for whom payments have not been received.

Welcome
Exciting, exciting, exciting times in the cattle industry. Even better times to be a cowcalf producer. Seems like every year we keep thinking this has to be the high in the market and yet it gets stronger. It’s showing more and more how profitable it can be to have a good functional set of cows with longevity and fertility. With big demand for good replacement heifers, they are out selling the steers right now. We have always tried to keep a base set of foundation cows that cover all the boxes well, with high maternal traits first and foremost. We do understand as much as we need maternal, we still need to sell marketable animals with enough growth and performance to meet the buyers’ demands. That is the beauty of the Angus breed, there is enough diversity in the breed that you can almost get a hybrid vigour within our own breed and still maintain the good Angus cow that does everything flawlessly.
We feel this year’s set of bulls check most of the boxes - high maternal bred bulls with enough balanced traits that make them appealing to commercial cattlemen. We try to develop these bulls so they last and you, the customer, can get as many years as possible out of them.
We look forward to seeing everyone sale day and hopefully before. We love having people come out before the sale to look at the bulls and cows.

This is a bull we have enjoyed watching grow up. 37M has lots of length, exceptional feet, and lots of eye appeal. His dam was a cow you’d love to have a pasture full of. She was good uddered, great feet and weighed 1400lbs in a very moderate package. All of our Eureka bred daughters were beautifully made with lots of body and just did everything right for us; they seemed to stick around until they were 10 years old or older. Having Coleman Donna 714 in his pedigree, I think this can only add to the merit of this bull that comes from a cow out of the heart of the Bowerman program.

Welcome to our 20th Annual All Black Bull Sale!
All aspects of the livestock industry look promising for the next several years. The cow numbers are down across Canada and the US and are not showing much sign of rebuild yet, so this indicates strong prices for the future. Remember we are getting paid by the pound for our calves or yearlings so selecting a top-notch bull from proven genetics is relatively inexpensive and will pay off dividends in the long run.
Once again, this year’s offerings are from the younger cows and the older proven elite cows that have stood the test of time. So, if you’re looking at retaining heifers for rebuilding or increasing your herd, there is longevity here. With that being said, the group of bulls are top tier and from all great maternal lines. We select sires for a balance of performance, calving ease, fleshing ability and strong maternal traits. This fall we weaned September 16th after very little rain in June; it turned the tap off in July and there was basically no rain the rest of the summer. It is amazing how good the pastures came back after abit of rain in the fall and ended up with excellent pastures and average haycrops.
The bulls have been fed Masterfeeds Bull ration and free choice hay. They have been vaccinated spring and pre-weaning with Vista Once SQ, Vision 8 Somnus vaccines and Inforce 3 to aid in the prevention of respiratory issues.
We were so fortunate to go on a holiday to Austria for 2 weeks the end of August to visit one of our past exchange students and her fiancé. Vienna was beautiful but the highlight of the trip was travelling to the countryside and a tour into the mountain pastures to see cows!!!
Ranch life continues to keep us busy and is a great way of life. We are so fortunate to have children and grandchildren who love this as well. Chris, Jenna and girls keep busy in Smiley with work and school and come to helps with the cows as often as they can. Lacey and Blair are busier than ever with 2 little girls. Our son Sheldon, Lori and family are close by and are always there to lend a hand. We now have 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren! Very blessed!!!

This year we're including commercial females as a part of our sale. These heifers are influenced by Wishbone Cattle Co and Nesset Lake Angus genetics - we are proud to be able to showcase some of our customers breeding programs. The heifers will sell in uniform packages with the option of gaterun five or more. All are replacement quality females. All females will have been palpated for breeding soundness prior to sale day.

Kyle & Leah Lantz - 10 heifers
Kyle & Leah run a large herd of commercial Black Angus cows. These cows run in rough country and Kyle is very harsh when it comes to culling for fertility. These heifers will be the most condensed offering of our genetics. Kyle has bought the front-end of the bulls at the sale for the last 10+ years.

James & Rachelle Jensen - 10 heifers
James & Rachelle have a very nice set of Angus cows that raise a very uniform set of calves every year - they take a lot of pride in their cows. James is the Service Manager at Lazar Equipment and Rachelle is the face behind Vast Wildnerness Clothing Company. While staying busy with a young family they also make 4000-6000 bales a year.

Richard & Kolten run a nice set of Black cows just north of Glaslyn. They are excellent stockmen that do a great job of feeding and looking after cattle. This is our (Wishbone) 4th winter of working with them on getting commercial cows and feeder cattle fed at their place.
