Welcome to our 33rd Annual Adair Ranch Bull Sale. We are very grateful to everyone that has expressed interest and supported our program this past year. 2025 has been an exciting year to be in the cattle industry. Cattle producers are finally being rewarded for their hard work and perseverance.

We calve our cow herd in May aligning the cow’s nutritional requirements with peak seasonal grass production. We have applied heavy selection pressure to our cowherd for sound udders, feet and fleshing ability. Adair Ranch cows are functional in a forage-based least-cost environment while maintaining profitable performance in their progeny. Rest assured that behind every Adair Ranch bull is a high-quality functional dam.

The first year the bulls are wintered on a moderate growing ration and then on grass from May to November. Then developed on a high roughage ration consisting of alfalfa hay, corn silage, oats and Riteway bull pellets. Thanks to Yaremcio Consulting Ltd for providing the rations. New this year the bulls were on a 70 day Vytelle feed efficiency test in the spring of 2025. The Angus bulls are all DNA Tenet tested for tenderness. The bulls are conservatively developed to remain sound and breed for years, genetically engineered with calving ease, fleshing ability, feed efficiency and performance.

Simmental sires represented in our 2026 sale include Adair Ranch 853K, Adair Ranch King 687K, Adair Ranch Knox 662K, Adair Ranch Knock-Out 22K, NGDB Structure 34D, RF Patent 283K, TNT Metric G435, Ultra Banknote 59H. Angus sires represented are BAR KT 3K and BAR KT 55J.

Included in this year’s sale offering is an elite group of homegrown red Simmental heifers from Heidi’s 4-H beef pen as well as a 4-H beef pen consigned by Kirby James.

The sale will be a video auction in Brownfield. Sale day bulls and females will be sorted and penned for viewing at Ken and Treena’s ranch.

VYTELLE FEED EFFICIENCY TEST

RFI: Residual feed intake. RFI is a measure of feed efficiency calculated as the difference between an animal’s actual feed intake and its predicted feed intake for a given level of production. Selection of animals with low RFI will lead to reduced feed intake and improved feed efficiency. Lower RFI values are favourable. Every bite a bull takes during their test is measured.

AVG: Average daily gain during the Vytelle test period.

Raw F:G: Feed to gain ration. Also referred to as feed conversion ration. F:G ration refers to the amount of feed consumed per unit of weight gain on a dry matter basis.

I’ve been pail feeding these 3 deep red replacement heifers. They are quiet and will make great cows. Maple, Amber and Rosie are red Simmental heifers that I chose from Grandpa’s herd for my 4-H beef pen.

KIRBY’S 4-H BEEF PEN

Hi, my name is Kirby James. I would like to thank the Adair Family for allowing me to sell my 4-H beef pen of heifers at their bull sale this year.

I bought these four heifers from my Grandpa Hagstrom this fall. I have been pail-feeding them all winter. There are two red heifers and two money strip heifers. Their names are Honey Garlic, Shari (after my mom), Natalie, and Snowball. They are very quiet and I think they will make a great group of commercial cows in the future.

Thank you for your support of the 4-H program.

Terms: The terms of this sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released.

Bid: Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

Disputes: In some cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

Announcements: Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Bidders are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

Certificate of Registry: The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after the settlement has been made.

Breeders Guarantee: Bulls – Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will then have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that the semen collected from the bull will be suitable for artificial insemination. Heifers – All have been palpated and guaranteed open and in good health by a local veterinarian.

Exception to Guarantee: In cases where the animal is subject to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

Settlement: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are the responsibility of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as fee, A.I., signing fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal a breeder then said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal is a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. the ranch or the refund of the actual price. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of the replacement animal, the Sales Management will appoint a mediator.

Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, Auctioneer, or Sellers assume any responsibility in this manner and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of the accident or loss of property.

Rights and Obligations: The above terms and conditions shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction. The rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

Bull Semen Retention: We are selling full possession, full salvage, plus 2/3 semen revenue. This means any semen sold on any of the bulls, Adair Ranch will receive 1/3 the selling price per unit. We also reserve the right to collect semen on any of the sale bulls, for our own use. This semen will be collected at our expense and the buyer’s convenience.
