Wednesday, FEBRUARY 27, 2013
Dear Brahman Enthusiasts:
On behalf of the American Brahman Breeders Association we would like to invite you to the 2013 International Brahman Sale. This year's sale is undoubtedly one of the most exciting as we have assembled one of the highest quality most elite set of females to have ever been offered in the sale.
In the cattle business, success depends on the power and productivity of one's cowherd. In life, success depends on taking advantage of opportunities. As you take the time to look through the catalog we hope you realize the opportunity to add strength to your breeding program. You will notice many opportunities to own some outstanding females and purchase genetics from some of the most sought after animals in the breed.
As in the past we have videoed the offering for your further inspection of the cattle. The videos and sale catalog can be viewed at www.brahman.org. On the day of the sale, the pre-sale cattle viewing and cocktail party will begin at 5PM with the sale starting promptly at 6:30. Immediately following the sale will be the annual semen sale, benefiting the ABBA Research & Breed Improvement Committee. More opportunities will abound at the semen sale with many lots being offered to the public that are not available on the open market. You can view the semen offering prior to the sale on the ABBA website or pick up a catalog at the ABBA Booth in Reliant Center.
In closing, we would like to thank you for your continued support of the international Sale and of the Brahman breed. Please remember success is where preparation meets opportunity. Are you prepared to take the steps to ensure your success? Hope to see you sale day! If any of the sale committee or consignors can provide you additional information or assist you in any way please give us a call.
Sincerely,
CONSIGNORS

1 Unbranded Heifer
We are extremely pleased to be able to donate the 2013 AJBA Foundation Heifer. We have been involved with the junior program at different levels for the past 25 years and know the role it plays in developing young people and hope this heifer will help further the program. This halter broke ready to go baby doll was born on September 6, 2012 and will sell unbranded and unregistered so the new owner can have the naming and branding rights. She is sired by the popular CJV Billy Bob Manso who accumulated 11 Grand or Reserve Grand Champion Titles in addition to countless Class and Division wins in ABBA Approved Shows. The top side of this heifer’s pedigree has six Register of Renown’s and boasts some of the breeds most popular and proven animals with +Maddox, +Double Take and the great +Leala 243 cow that is the dam and grand dam to many of the recent winners for Heritage Cattle Company. The dam to this outstanding female is a donor for our elite program that we purchased for our son to show. She is an own daughter of the great +JDH Sir Lawford Manso who has sired many of the recent winners for J.D. Hudgins and out of a top (=) JDH Westin daughter for Steve Hudgins. This female is a result of incorporating the best genetics available with the most current technologies as she is a result of in vitro fertilization with reverse sorted semen. We are extremely excited about this heifer’s potential not only as a great show prospect but a top producing cow.

Here is a rare opportunity that is sure to take your program to the next level, as MISS BF 292/2 is the first female out of the 314 family ever to be sold at public auction. Her grandsire is the Register or Renown bull BNA DEACON MANSO 253/0 and her sire is MR KC JUSTICE MANSO 847/5, who is our most consistent herd sire in terms of producing functional females with outstanding maternal abilities. This stylish, moderate framed female has great pigment and is very eye appealing. When she is out on the move, you see that she is fluid in her movement, deep bodied, big footed, and heavy boned. Yet she maintains a balance of femininity that is desirable in any female. 3 Pregnant Recipient
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a pregnant recipient carrying some of the most sought after genetics in the Red Brahman breed. The dam to this great mating is the winningest Red Brahman show cow in history, CT Lady Rhineaux Ray 8/9. Over her show career she has garnered 45 Grand Champion titles in both Junior and Open shows. These wins include the 2010 Reserve National Champion as a calf, 2011 International Champion, 2011 National Champion, 2012 International Champion, 2012 National Champion all culminating with the 2011 and 2012 ABBA Red Show Cow of the Year awards. To further compliment this great dam, the resulting offspring will be sired by SRS Mr. Pasco 812, the 2006 National Reserve Champion Red Bull. Pasco is a beautiful dark red bull with plenty of bone, muscle and volume that has one of the most popular Red Brahman pedigrees in the breed. This will be one of the few opportunities to purchase an offspring from Pasco due to his early death in 2006 and limited semen being collected. The due date of the recipient is March 28, 2013. She can be picked up immediately following the Houston Show or we will be happy to assist with the delivery of her to the new buyer. We hope you seize this rare opportunity to purchase a proven mating that could be a breed changer for the Red Brahman breed.

Her first natural calf sold in the 2011 International Sale to Myra Neal Morrison. 663/6 is featured in our new 2013 Herd Reference Guide. She sells with a 11/13/2012 bull calf at side sired by Mr. V8 675/6. Please note that when 351/7 calved she had a mastitis infection in her front right quarter and we cannot guarantee that on future calves the teat will function. This was a management error, not genetics. This is a great female from a line of great ones. +MR. V8 901/4 +MR. V8 189/4 MISS V8 663/6+MISS V8 287/3

17 Miss V8 505/7
ABBA# 899742 • Born: 01/09/11 • Gray
Miss V8 505/7 is an outstanding 2-year-old heifer out of Brandon & Rachel’s best donor cow, +Miss V8 797/6, and sired by the extremely powerful and popular +Mr. V8 380/6, our best bull on the ranch. Both of these bloodlines are very hard to get and only offered in places like the Houston sale. She is the first daughter to sell out of +Miss V8 797/7. 505/7’s flushmates include Mr. V8 135/7 “The Butler” and Mr. V8 139/7, two of the best polled bulls in the world. She is also a full sister to Miss V8 274/7, the 2012 Reserve National Champion Female. On the bottom side 505 also goes back to the legendary +Miss V8 98/6 polled donor. So though she is horned, she does carry a lot of polled influence through 797/6 and 98/6. We invite you to pick up one of our new herd reference guides at Houston to learn much more about this cow family which is one of the most important cow families impacting the ranch today. This cow family produced the 2010 National Champion Female and the 2012 Reserve National Champion Female. She has been AI’d to Mr. V8 675/6, who is also the sire of her full sister’s calf at side when the pair won reserve at the national show. Pregnancy status will be available by sale time.

Miss V8 363/7
A very muscular, deep bodied daughter of our leading sire
+Mr. V8 380/6. This is a powerful “front pasture” female that should calve by sale date to Mr. V8 675/6, a former champion and top young sire for the ranch. The dam, Miss V8 630/5, has produced seven daughters that are in the V8 herd now, including one being the 2005 National Champion Female. She has had a $6,300 average on 23 calves sold and has seven donor ancestors in her four generation pedigree. This is the type of female that will always be a source of pride for her owner and with an aggressive ET program, one that a family dynasty can be built around. She'll be one of the favorites sale day.
