LETTER FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear CATT Members,

As we approach renewal season, I want to take a moment to speak directly to all of you, especially our new members, about the importance of staying engaged and connected with your Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe family.

We know that after a long day on the jobsite, the last thing you might want to do is attend another event. But I assure you, our mixers are worth it. There’s always good food, cold drinks, and great company — and our dress code is simple: come as you are. Whether you arrive in work boots or business casual, you’re among friends who understand the challenges and triumphs of life in the trades. These gatherings aren’t just social they’re where real connections are made, business relationships begin, and community is built.

Behind the scenes, CATT is working dutifully and diligently with multiple government agencies throughout our region to defend your right to build and to ensure that public policy supports, not hinders, the trades. We’re advocating to abandon and or suspend regulations that don’t make sense, while championing those that do. This month we began building code reviews and selection of permitting software with the Town of Truckee. This means we must stay at the table, weighing in on ordinances, fees, planning processes, workforce housing, and everything that affects your bottom line.

But our mission doesn’t stop at advocacy at over 14 different districts. CATT continues to invest in trade scholarships, workforce development, and housing initiatives to strengthen our industry’s future. Every membership dollar helps us do this work, and it’s why, as you consider your yearly subscriptions and dues, CATT should be right at the top of your renewal list.

Your membership isn’t just a subscription, it’s a statement that you stand with your peers, that you believe in the trades, and that you want to see our community and industry thrive. Our collective numbers alone are impressive. Over 465 member companies strong gain attention and influence.

Thank you for your continued support and for being part of something larger than any single company or jobsite. Together, we are building more than structures...we’re building the future of Truckee Tahoe.

In service to one another,

CATT CP: THANK YOU FOR A YEAR OF GIVING, BUILDING, AND COMMUNITY

Dear CATT Members and Friends,

As we start looking to 2026, I know it's only October....On behalf of the CATT Community Project (CATT CP) Board of Directors, I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of you, our members, volunteers, donors, and sponsors, for your incredible support this past year. Your generosity and dedication have allowed CATT CP to continue fulfilling our mission of being a conduit of funds, materials, volunteerism and project coordination towards the restoration or construction of selected structures that are deemed beneficial to the community.

This year has been one of remarkable success and impact. From community restoration projects to assisting local veterans and seniors with critical home repairs, your contributions of time, talent, and treasure have made a real difference across the Truckee-Tahoe region. Every nail driven, every dollar donated, and every hour volunteered represents the heart of this association and the strength of the trades.

A special thank you goes to all the donors of the Jay Lebel Scholarship Fund. Your support helps keep Jay’s legacy alive by empowering the next generation of young men and women entering the construction and building trades. We are proud to see this program continue to grow each year all because of you.

CATT CP: THANK YOU FOR A YEAR OF GIVING, BUILDING, AND COMMUNITY

We also want to recognize the sponsors of the Austin Ridge Mixer, what a beautiful venue and a fantastic evening of camaraderie, music, and generosity. Events like this remind us why CATT is more than an association, it's a positive force in the community.

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to announce our next major fundraiser: the CATT CP Poker Tournament, coming this February. All proceeds will go directly to support CATT CP’s charitable efforts, scholarships, and community service projects.

It’s a night of friendly competition for a great cause and we can’t wait to see you there! You don't have to be CATT member to participate.

From all of us at CATT CP, thank you for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping make a difference in our community. Here’s to another year of building together!

With gratitude,

CATTPAC: BE PART OF THE VOICE THAT PROTECTS THE TRADES

Dear CATT Members,

As we head into another campaign season next year, I want to remind you how important it is for all of us in the construction and building trades to stay engaged in the political process. The Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe is more than a trade group it’s a powerful force representing over 465 companies and more than 6,000 hardworking men and women who keep our region growing and building.

Our Political Action Committee, CATTPAC, serves as your voice in government. It’s where we make sure the people who make decisions about fees, zoning, housing, permitting, and workforce development understand and respect what it takes to build in Truckee-Tahoe. CATTPAC helps ensure that candidates who are friendly to the trades who support local builders, respect the industry, and value economic growth — are the ones elected to office.

In 2026, we’ll have several critical races that will directly affect our members and our ability to work efficiently and fairly. This is your opportunity to get involved. Members will have the chance to participate in candidate interview meetings, where you can meet candidates faceto-face, ask tough questions, and help shape CATTPAC’s endorsements. These meetings are where decisions are made and where your input truly matters.

CATTPAC: BE PART OF THE VOICE THAT PROTECTS THE TRADES

We also invite all members to join us at our CATTPAC Mixer this November — details will be released soon. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the PAC, upcoming races, and how you can get involved in supporting pro-trade candidates who share our values and priorities.

If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference in how policy affects your business and the trades at large, this is your chance to do it.

To get involved or learn more about CATTPAC, please contact me directly at execdir@ca-tt.com or reach out to Megan Behm, PAC Chair at sierracrest@ltol.com.

Together, we can ensure that the voice of the trades remains strong, informed, and impossible to ignore.
