JANUARY 2026

LETTER FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL SEASON IS HERE AND YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

Dear Members,

Membership renewal season is here, and we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of the Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe (CATT) and I also want to thank the members that have already renewed their membership. As you may or may not know, CATT is 100% funded by its membership. Your continued membership is more important than ever, and renewing on time helps ensure we can continue the independent work that supports you, your business, and our industry. While many members are familiar with our events, educational programs, and networking mixers, the true value of the Association often happens behind the scenes. Your dues allow us to actively engage in regulatory and policy discussions that directly impact how you do business. We work to ensure that regulations are practical, fair, and allow tradespeople to continue working, remain competitive, and maintain profitability in an increasingly complex regulatory environment, while it may not mean a lead or job you can easily trace back...CATT ensures your business is not hindered.

Timely renewals provide the stability needed to:

Advocate for policies that protect contractors and skilled trades

Maintain a strong voice with local and regional decision-makers

Support meaningful networking through mixers and events that build real business relationships

Offer opportunities for leadership through Board and committee participation, where members can directly influence the direction of the Association and our industry.

I encourage every member to not only renew but to consider getting more involved. Serving on the Board or one of our committees is a powerful way to shape our priorities, strengthen our collective voice, gain visibility and ensure the Association continues to reflect the needs of its members. Your support makes it possible for us to do this work consistently and effectively, even when it’s not always visible. Together, we help create an environment where contractors and trades professionals can succeed today and into the future.

Please renew your membership promptly and remain an active part of CATT. We look forward to another year of collaboration, advocacy, and opportunity.

Happy New Year and thank you for your continued commitment.

Sincerely,

In service to one another,

EdwardC.Vento,DBA

Dear CATT Members,

This year is an election year for several districts that directly affect our industry. To ensure the CATT Political Action Committee (CATT-PAC) focuses on the issues and races most important to our members, we will be sending out a member survey in early February. Your input will help guide which races the CATT-PAC prioritizes and which candidates it considers for endorsement. We encourage all members to participate and share their perspective once the survey is released. Thank you for your continued support and engagement and I look forward to your input.

Sincerely,

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT-2026

Dear CATT Members,

My name is Matt Mede, owner of M. Renovations LLC, and I am honored to serve as the 2026 President of the Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe Board of Directors. I want to thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me and for your continued support of this Association.

As I step into this role, my focus is on ensuring that CATT delivers clear, measurable value to our members while strengthening our long-term effectiveness as an organization. We have already begun taking meaningful steps toward that goal.

One of the first initiatives underway is the appointment of volunteer CATT Ambassadors. These ambassadors will mentor new members, helping them navigate the Association, make connections, and fully understand how to take advantage of the benefits available to them. Membership should never feel passive, and this program is designed to ensure new members see value early and often.

We are also in the process of renovating the CATT office to better reflect the professionalism, credibility, and leadership role the Association plays within our industry and community. A strong physical presence supports stronger partnerships, engagement, and visibility. If anybody would like to volunteer their services, we would certainly highlight them.

Internally, we are reexamining and consolidating committees to improve focus and efficiency, while on the local government affairs side aligning our efforts more closely with the regions where our members are most actively working. This approach allows us to better direct our time, energy, and expertise toward the areas that matter most to you.

Another key focus is evaluating how the Association invests its resources to maximize long-term returns for our members. This includes prioritizing investments that enhance relevance, expand opportunities, and position CATT for continued strength and effectiveness in the years ahead. This is an exciting time for CATT. With engaged members, focused leadership, and a renewed commitment to accountability and strategic direction, CATT is well-positioned to continue serving its 470 members as a strong voice for our industry.

I encourage you to stay involved, share your perspective, and consider participating in committees, events, or leadership opportunities. Together, we can ensure that CATT remains relevant, effective, and member-driven. Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to working alongside you in the year ahead.

Sincerely,
