Gò0dNews for Men

Quit You Like Men t is often exciting to see different animals out in the wild: to walk upon one or to even see one in your yard. To think about one of God’s creatures becoming extinct is just troubling. We put a lot of emphasis this day and time on protecting the earth and the creatures of the earth. I do believe that we should be good stewards of God’s creation, but have you noticed that sometimes it would seem that we have forgotten about some of the most important things that are rapidly going extinct? The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 16:13 “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” The one phrase that stands out to me in this verse is “quit you like men”. This statement only appears in this verse within the New Testament. It basically means to be a man. Out of all the things today that we have come to put emphasis on to try to maintain or keep around, it is men that should be put on the endangered list. Yes, there are some good men still around, and praise the Lord for that, but with the attack on the home, the man’s roll has become the casualty. When I was in the Army years ago, one of the responsibilities of a leader that was stressed was to seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions. This simply means to be responsible. Someone once said that someone who is immature is someone who has never been

tried with responsibility. Satan has been attacking the family from the first marriage in the garden, and today he is continuing to attack by the destruction of man’s position. This attack must be stopped. Children must be allowed to experience the results of their decisions without being sheltered from their responsibility. Teenagers must be held accountable. Men, you must take responsibility for your actions whether you have made the right decision in life or not. As the Bible says, “quit you like men.” It is time that men seek responsibility and take responsibility for their actions. Men, we must make a stand for the roll of men. We must acknowledge our God given roll and perform it to the best of our ability. We must stand and be a man. We must lead our family to Christ and be the strong one of faith. We must be the role model our kids look to. We must accept the challenges of being a man head on and trust the Lord for the things we cannot do. Step up and be encouraged today. It is not popular to be defined as a man in this day, but God made us who we are. Trust Him in all our decisions. When you feel overwhelmed and alone, know that at that moment, God is giving you strength. Paul said, “…for when I am weak, then I am strong.” Quit you like men.
