CTS Mission

We believe in helping people to discover, nurture and share their faith, by providing honest and compelling answers to life’s deepest questions. Everything we do is authentic, accessible, and authoritative. You can rely on us to tackle the important issues of life and faith, to make the complicated easy to understand, and that the works we publish are in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

As a charity and a publisher, we use the written word to support and encourage people at every stage of their journey; from parish priests to those exploring for the first time.

I am pleased to present the 2026 CTS catalogue.

It has been a busy year at CTS as we continue to share the beauty of God’s truth with the world.

We are excited about our new publications, including a series celebrating Catholic contributions to different professions: Holy Nurses and Holy Scientists. New in our “Deeper Reads” line is a gripping study of JRR Tolkien as a Catholic, A Light from the Shadows: the Spiritual Heart of JRR Tolkien.

We are also amplifying our distinctive voice from nearly 160 years of publishing into modern media . Our podcast, Into the Truth, available on all major platforms, has attracted 300k views on YouTube alone. It features interviews with our authors and with Catholic figures such as Sir James MacMillan and Sr Carino Hodder OP. We also produce audiobooks, panel discussions, and have filmed podcasts live.

In 2026 we will be releasing a beautiful video companion to Fr Lawrence Lew OP’s book, Entering Heaven on Earth, exploring the meaning behind the beauty of Catholic churches, and filmed on location in London. There’s also more digital content with some of the most engaging Catholic voices of today.

To support this work we are building a state of the art podcast studio in our new offices. Because most of our content is free, we are looking for donations to support this project and the ongoing production of video and podcasts. To support us in this mission, please scan the QR code.

Thank you for joining us in living and sharing the Catholic Faith. From all of us at CTS, we wish you a blessed year ahead, and hope our books and digital content will continue to accompany you.

God’s truth, beautifully told. since 1868

New SAINTS

St Carlo Acutis

Saint of the Young

Mgr Anthony Figueiredo

£7.95 B776 | 127 × 178 mm Paperback | 104pp

ISBN: 9781784696528

“One day, Brother Masseo, one of the earliest followers of St Francis, asked why everyone wanted to follow him: “Say, why is it that all the world seems to be running after you, and everyone seems to want to see you, and hear you, and obey you?” 800 years later, the phenomenon of St Carlo Acutis raises the same question. The simple answer is that Carlo, like Francis, does not point to himself, but to God. “Not I, but God,” as he repeated. The secret to the holiness of the saints is “losing themselves” to become one with God through Jesus, especially in the Eucharist and charity, allowing His smile to shine on their face, making it glow and attract with the “Smile of Heaven.” This “smile” illumines the life, miracles and graces, and the call to be a saint in the “five steps” of Carlo Acutis. I invite you to read this truly beautiful, agile, and inspiring book with the desire to be a saint. It is historically well documented. Theologically profound. Offering everyone, at whatever stage in their journey, a roadmap to Heaven in the footsteps of Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint.”

Robert Cardinal Sarah Prefect Emeritus, Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments

Pope LEO XIV

Dilexi te On Love for the Poor

Pope Leo XIII

£4.95 DO981 | A5 Paperback | 68pp

ISBN: 9781784698591

“[Love for the poor] is not a matter of mere human kindness but a revelation: contact with those who are lowly and powerless is a fundamental way of encountering the Lord of history. In the poor, he continues to speak to us.” (Pope Leo XIV)

In his final months, Pope Francis was preparing an Apostolic Exhortation on the Church’s care for the poor. Giving it the title “Dilexi Te”, he intended it to be a follow-up to his final encyclical, “Dilexit Nos”. The title is a message of love from Jesus to the poor, referring to the Book of Revelation: “You have but little power,” yet “I have loved you” (3:9).

Now, at the start of his pontificate, Pope Leo XIV has chosen to make this document his own, by adding his own reflections to those of Pope Francis, “since I share the desire of my beloved predecessor that all Christians come to appreciate the close connection between Christ’s love and his summons to care for the poor.”

New & NOTEWORTHY

Light from the Shadows

The Spiritual Heart of JRR Tolkien

£9.95 B781 | 125 × 170 mm | Paperback | TBCpp

ISBN: 9781784697709

A Light from the Shadows offers a commentary on the distinctly Catholic framework of Tolkien’s writings - shaped by his experiences as a scholar, army officer, husband, and father. Each of these aspects of his life helps to unlock his unique perspective on his own work.

In this book, Fr Michael Halsall takes the reader on a journey through Middle-earth, alongside characters who vividly embody the key themes of Tolkien’s literary vision: the urgent need to re-enchant our narratives, the ongoing struggle between good and evil, the question of what it means to be virtuous, and the inescapable reality of death - and what may lie beyond it - for every human being.

A Light from the Shadows is essential reading for every Tolkien or Lord of the Rings fan, and for anyone interested in the Catholic influence on one of the greatest fantasy writers of all time.

After Secularisation

The Present & Future of British Catholicism

Stephen Bullivant, Hannah Vaughan-Spruce, Bernadette Durcan

£19.95 CP001 | 127x203 | Paperback | 184pp

ISBN: 9781784698539

The Catholic Church is not dying out – far from it. While this claim may seem to directly contradict the numbers, After Secularisation: The Present and Future of British Catholicism gives both principled and statistical reasons for hope regarding the future of the Church in Britain.

Building on prior work, the authors examine where “creative minorities” can currently be found, specifically in groupings that contain committed, Mass-going young adults. The strong attachment to and observance of the Catholic faith displayed by young adults in certain settings seem to offer signs of hope and renewal against an otherwise worrying backdrop of decline.

The fervour that Bullivant et al. uncover is starting to seep into the statistics. These numbers might not predict a wholesale revival of Christian society, but the future of the Church in Britain looks devoted, faithful, passionate, and very real.

Holy Nurses

Gosia Brykczynska

£3.95 B784 | A6 | Paperback | 80pp

ISBN: 9781784698522

Holy Nurses tells the remarkable stories of nine modern women whose faith led them to become qualified nurses and to offer their expert care to people experiencing tremendous suffering through infirmity, sickness or war and conflict. Some women plied their skills with quiet, simple devotion, but in some dramatic cases the Catholic nurses accepted danger, injury, assault, and even death in order to practice their skills where they were most needed.

Dr Gosia Brykczyńska, herself a nurse, teacher of nurses, and the current European President of CICIAMS (International Association of Catholic Nurses), tells these remarkable stories in a way that highlights the vocational aspects of the nursing profession and the virtues of the holy nurses for whom nursing was a road to Christ.

ISBN: 9781784698515

Holy Scientists tells the story of several of the remarkable men and women who have made profound contributions to science without experiencing any conflict with their Catholic faith. Radioastronomer and Catholic priest Fr Douglas McGonagle doesn’t shy away from the controversial issues: he refutes the idea that faith and science have any innate incompatibilities, demystifies the whole Galileo versus the Church episode, and reveals the remarkable work of some unambiguously Catholic scientists: Nicholas Copernicus (astronomer and Canon to the Bishop of Warmia), Sr Miriam Michael Stimson, O.P. (chemist and Dominican nun), and Mgr Georges Lemaître (astronomer and priest) before asking the question: could God be calling you to be a scientist?

The Second Spring

St John Henry Newman, Dr Andrew Nash

£7.99 CP002 | 133 x 203 mm

Paperback 40pp

ISBN: 9781784698577

St John Henry Newman’s famed Second Spring sermon still bursts with the same fervour that brought Newman’s listeners to tears when he preached it. An introduction by Dr Andrew Nash explores the context in which Newman made his impassioned appeal for the re-evangelisation of England to the Catholics of the late 19th century, an appeal that will resonate as deeply with Christians of today as it did then.

“So thoroughly did successive Protestant governments do their work, that Catholicism in England appeared to be dead or at best only a vestigial survival. So things do die in the natural and human order. But now something extraordinary had happened. The dead church had risen to life! The Catholicism which had been written out of English history had suddenly been found not dead but alive – and growing! This, says Newman, this unforeseen, apparently miraculous resurrection of the Catholic Church, was what had sent Protestant England into such an uproar in 1850.”

Dr Andrew Nash

“[The Second Spring] is a moving sermon – at the end many of the bishops were in tears. It quickly achieved a remarkable status among English Catholics. It set the agenda, one could say, for the work of the church in the years ahead, inspiring generations since Newman’s time.”

Dr Andrew Nash

CTS at the Cabrini Community Campus

In November, 2025, after over twenty years in Vauxhall, CTS moved our offices to the Cabrini Community Campus in Honor Oak, London. The Cabrini Campus is a remarkable site, located in a former primary school founded by St Frances Xavier Cabrini herself, and housing other Catholic charities and artists. The CTS offices now have access to a beautiful chapel, where staff can attend Mass. The original convent is still on site as well, with the room St Frances would use whenever she stopped on her way to New York or back home to Italy preserved exactly as she had it. In these venerable surroundings, we look forward to continuing our mission for decades to come, and are grateful for all your prayers and donations that give us such crucial support in our work.

CTS Studios

British Catholic Faith Formation

But the podcast is just the beginning, as 2026 will see many new projects go into production. At CTS, we create ways for people to grow in and share their Catholic Faith, or to discover it for the first time. CTS Studios will build a platform of British Catholic voices to answer the questions that people are searching.

Into The Truth Podcast

Since launching our podcast in 2024, we have created over 40 episodes and our YouTube channel has amassed 290k+ views and 25k+ watch time hours. This year, your generosity funded the production of podcasts with Biblical scholar NT Wright, Theology of the Body expert Christopher West, renowned Catholic composer Sir James MacMillan, Archbishop John Wilson and Archbishop of Sydney, Anthony Fisher, OP. We also had our first live podcast, a panel discussion of renewal with the authors of ‘After Secularisation’ in front of a live crowd at the fantastic ‘WeBelieve Festival’!

We will be creating YouTube videos, shorts, audiobooks and podcasts that help people to take the next step in the life of faith. We hope that through this work many will discover Jesus in His Church, here in the UK. Our video work will stay true to the mission of CTS, to help people to discover, grow and share their faith.

Help Build The Studio

You can be a part of this mission. To reach as many people as possible through the algorithm and search, we will offer most of our content for free. This means that we need your help to cover our production costs. If you want to see this studio of evangelistic British Catholic content succeed, please consider supporting us in this appeal.

Our Patreon Community

Another way that you can support the work of our Studio is through Patreon. On Patreon, we hope to grow a community of British Catholics passionate about online evangelisation. By joining, you will gain access to:

• Full uncut episodes of Into The Truth, our fortnightly podcast.

• Early access to CTS events, including book launches and live podcasts.

• Book Discounts on selected new CTS books.

• The Podcast Guestlist and the ability to submit questions to upcoming guests.
