Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I am delighted to welcome you to the Eucharistic Congress! During these days of our Eucharistic Congress we joyfully gather as the faithful of the Diocese of Charlotte to celebrate our faith and our love for the Eucharistic Lord. The Lord sets before us the task of the New Evangelization, and in the Eucharist He nourishes us and strengthens us on His own Body and Blood for the work of bringing Him and His Gospel to the world. Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life whom we desire to bring to the world. Jesus is the Way. He is the way to heaven. He is the way to eternal life. He is the way to happiness. In the Eucharist the Lord nourishes us on His very self as we continue to follow in His way from the day of our baptism onward. Jesus is our holiness and our sanctification, and because He is really and substantially present in the Holy Eucharist, He causes the Eucharist to be for us our way of holiness and sanctification. Jesus is the Truth. Pilate asked the question, “What is truth?” but we know that the real question is, Who is truth? The Truth is a person, Jesus Himself, and the Truth speaks to us concerning the Eucharist when He says: This is my Body; This is my Blood. Jesus declares the reality of His presence in the Eucharist. In the Eucharist the Lord nourishes us on Himself and roots us deeply in His truth, so that we may bring His Gospel truth to others. Jesus is the Life. Jesus wants His divine life to be constantly nourished within us, and so He gives us Himself in the Eucharist, the Bread of Life. “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.” If you want life, if you want eternal life, then here it is in the Holy Eucharist, the pledge of eternal life. Jesus is our life. He lives in us and we live in Him. Jesus’ teaching that He is the Way and the Truth and the Life becomes real for us in an amazing way in the Eucharist. In Holy Communion He calls us to nourish ourselves on the Way and the Truth and the Life. He is our Way. He is our Truth. He is our Life. In this Eucharistic Congress renew your friendship with Jesus, who is really and substantially present in the Holy Eucharist. A Charlotte native, Bishop Peter J. Jugis is the fourth bishop of the Diocese of Charlotte. Ordained a priest in 1983 by St. John Paul II, Bishop Jugis has served in parishes throughout the diocese. Under his guidance, the diocese began holding the annual Eucharistic Congress in 2005.
His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan Archbishop of New York Holy Hour homily: “The Holy Eucharist: The Way and The Truth and The Life of the Intentional Catholic” Hall A – Saturday, Sept. 12, 10:15 a.m. DOLAN
His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan was named Archbishop of New York by Pope Benedict XVI on Feb. 23, 2009. A native of Missouri, he was ordained to the priesthood in 1976. He has served in ministry as a parish priest, a seminary rector and as secretary to the Papal Nuncio in Washington, D.C. Cardinal Dolan also served as president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. On Jan. 6, 2012, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI announced that Cardinal Dolan was to be appointed to the College of Cardinals. Following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Dolan participated in the conclave that elected Pope Francis in March 2013.

Father Patrick J. Winslow Pastor, St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Charlotte Bible Study: “The Gospel of St. John” Hall A – Friday, Sept. 11, 8 p.m. Father Patrick J. Winslow serves as the pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and as a canonical advisor to the bishop. He completed the ecclesiastical degrees of Sacrae WINSLOW Theologiae Baccalaureus (S.T.B.) and a Juris Canonici Licentia (J.C.L.) from The Catholic University of America. Before his theological training, he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and after completing his coursework toward a doctorate in analytical chemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology he left the program to enter the seminary and discern a vocation to the priesthood in 1993. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1999. He has gained great popularity among Bible study students around the world through his DVD lectures with Catholic Scripture Study International.

In January 2000, Forrest founded Movin’ With The Spirit Inc. (MWTS), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to boldly proclaiming God’s eternal Truth and love. Since then, he has had the opportunity to speak to hundreds of thousands of teens and adults across the country and internationally. 4
Eucharistic Procession and Adoration 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 The Eucharistic Congress presents plenty of opportunities for the faithful to come and spend time with Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Adoration is a focal point for the Congress, as the Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. Adoration offers a source of inspiration and peace for the thousands of Catholics who attend the annual two-day event. Adoration will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, starting with a procession from Hall A of the Charlotte Convention Center up to St. Peter Church, 507 S. Tryon St. Participants are welcome to carry electric candles. Adoration will then be held overnight at St. Peter Church from 9:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday. Starting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, the faithful of the Diocese of Charlotte are invited to join in the Eucharistic Procession from St. Peter Church through uptown Charlotte to the Charlotte Convention Center, where the Eucharistic Congress will be held. The Eucharistic Procession will culminate inside Hall A of the convention center, where a Holy Hour will be celebrated starting at 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Following the Holy Hour, silent Eucharistic Adoration will be held in the Chapel in Hall B, adjacent to the Confession Area. Members of the Knights of Columbus will stand at the entrance to the Chapel, where everyone is invited to come in, kneel and pray for as long as they like. Adoration will conclude at 4 p.m., and the celebration of Holy Mass will begin at 4:15 p.m. with Bishop Peter J. Jugis as the main celebrant.

The Procession route The Eucharistic Procession will begin at 9 a.m. at St. Peter Church at 507 S. Tryon St. It will continue north on Tryon Street, then turn onto East Third Street. From there, the procession will turn right onto South College Street, then turn left onto Stonewall Street and continue on to the Charlotte Convention Center. Father Daniel L. Mode is a U.S. Navy chaplain with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services. Father Mode is the author of “The Grunt Padre,” the biography of Vietnam War hero and Navy chaplain Father Vincent R. Capodanno, MM, whose 1967 death in battle while assisting U.S. Marines posthumously earned him the Medal of Honor, the U.S. military’s highest decoration. The Church has declared Father Capodanno, a Maryknoll missionary from Staten Island, N.Y., a “Servant of God,” formally initiating his cause for canonization.

Father Tadeusz Pacholczyk, Ph.D., is a priest of the Diocese of Fall River, Mass. He earned degrees in philosophy, biochemistry, molecular cell biology and chemistry, as well as a doctorate in neuroscience from Yale University. He serves as director of education for the National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia and directs the Center’s National Catholic Certification Program in Health Care Ethics. He has given presentations and participated in roundtables on contemporary bioethics throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe, and he writes on timely life issues – from stem cell research to organ donation, abortion to euthanasia – addressing topics we all may confront at some point in our lives.

Youth Track K-5 Track: Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Room 217 – 12:15-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 The Children’s Track at the Eucharistic Congress is built to resemble a one-day “Vacation Bible School” atmosphere. The Congress’s theme and Eucharistic-focus is explored with crafts, music, storytelling, guided Adoration, and other supportive materials presented through a variety of media. As with last year, the St. Cecilia Nashville Dominican Sisters will participate in the afternoon’s activities and enthusiastically bring their love of our Lord in the Holy Eucharist and model true service to Him.
Middle School Track: Katie Dunne Knoefel Room 213 – 12:15-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 Ever feel like you’re spending your middle school years struggling to find your way, seeking truthful answers to your questions, and just trying to enjoy life? Imagine if there was one relationship that could make all of that possible. One person that could bring you all the happiness you could ever imagine. What if I told you that you are not too young to fall in love? What if I told you that I know the Way? What if I told you I know the Truth? What if I told you I know the Life? What if I told you that His name is Jesus? Katie Dunne Knoefel serves as the director of faith formation at St. John Neumann Church in Charlotte. She has a degree in youth ministry from Pfeiffer University and has experience in youth ministry, camping ministry and faith formation. She has had the privilege to speak at Life Teen Camps over the past seven years as well as several youth conferences along the East Coast and in Louisiana. Her dream is to open a Catholic retreat center and camp in North Carolina. She and her husband Blake welcomed their son Liam in March 2015.

He has released his sixth album. “Live, Love, Lead,” which he recorded in Nashville with popular Christian musicians and a Grammy-Award winning producer. He has also mobilized a team to help the poor of Haiti. MWTS’ “Haiti180” constructed and operates a lively orphanage and state-of-the-art school, and has been housing, feeding and caring for children and villagers in desperate need of support. The organization is also in the process of building a medical clinic for the local and surrounding communities. Adam Trufant, a Belmont Abbey College graduate, will also provide musical entertainment.

Child safety, lost children There will be unmanned Child Safety Sticker locations at the various entrances to the Eucharistic Congress in Halls A and B and on Concourse A. Parents can write their phone number on a sticker and affix it to their child’s back. Lost children will be taken to one of two locations (whichever is closer): the Eucharistic Congress Information Booth in Hall B (look for the gold drape), or the Volunteer Check-in area on Concourse A.

Nursing mothers room A Nursing Mothers Room will be located in Suite 106, located on Concourse C (near the Youth Track Registration Check-in).
St. Paschal Baylon (15401592) was a shepherd and lay brother of the Franciscan Friars. His life was noted for BAYLON his devotion to Eucharistic Adoration. In 1897 Pope Leo XIII declared St. Pascal the patron saint of all Eucharistic congresses and associations. His feast is on May 17.
Hearing impaired assistance Once again this year the Eucharistic Congress will offer signing for the hearing impaired in Hall A. Volunteer signers will translate the Holy Hour, English Track speakers and the Vigil Mass. Ushers will direct those seeking sign interpretation to appropriate seating in the front of Hall A.
Gain a plenary indulgence
Vietnamese Track
A plenary, or full, indulgence is offered to those who attend the Eucharistic Congress, go to confession, receive Holy Communion and offer prayers for the Holy Father within one week of the Congress. “An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporary punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven,” according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
There will be programming in Vietnamese from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in Room 208B. Father Tri Minh Duong, CM, parochial vicar at St. Mary Church in Greensboro, will speak from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The sacrament of confession in Vietnamese will be available from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

However, it costs approximately $30 per attendee to cover the building rental, the audio/ visual support and the transportation and other costs associated with the event. ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.’ The theme for this year’s Eucharistic Congress, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” lends itself to deep spiritual reflection of the words at face value and at particular value to the Christian. Today’s concert will hopefully lead the listener into such a reflection. Christ says “I am the Way.” What does this mean and how does it call to His followers? The first segment of today’s concert touches on discipleship, mercy, and the Blessed Mother. “Go to the World,” arranged by James Chepponis, is set to the familiar tune used as “For All the Saints.” The text of this piece gives the command to go into world and preach, live, seek, struggle, bless and pray all in the name of the Gospel – all in the name of Christ. Because Christ is the Way, He becomes our call to action! “If Ye Love Me” by Thomas Tallis uses Jesus’ words in John 14:15-17. Christ is the Way and we follow Him because we love Him, and this piece reminds us to keep His commandments. He promises to send an advocate to help us continue in His way. Interestingly, Thomas Tallis was writing music during the reign of five English monarchs of disagreeing religious views. Tallis was always a faithful Catholic but is considered the father of English-Reformation church music. One cannot help but wonder if this passage helped him to maintain his faith while he was writing music for the Anglican movement. “Kyrie from Schubert’s Mass in G”: “Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.” We pray these words so often as a request to God but they are also a request by God. To be a disciple of Christ and walk in His way means to have and show mercy to others in the holy name of Jesus. St. Isaac the Syrian encourages us, “Let mercy outweigh all else in you. A hard and unmerciful heart will never be pure.” Soloist: Joan Kelly “O Sanctissima” by Kevin Keil is a contemporary setting of this well known Catholic hymn to the Blessed Mother. Why would a piece in her honor be placed in such a category? Mary, the Mother of God, is our greatest model of discipleship. Through her intercession the faithful are strengthened in their task of walking with and presenting Christ to a world that has become confused. Brass Interlude The second segment of our concert touches on Christ’s claim to be the Truth. Many truths regarding our Lord are put into question however this section leans toward His incarnation and His true presence in the Most Holy Eucharist. “All the Earth Doth Worship Thee” by G.F. Handel is a joyful setting of phrases from the Te Deum. To worship the Father everlasting is to also worship the Son. Although we are in a time when people question objective Truth, we know the Father and the Son are one in the unity of the Holy Spirit. We know through Psalm 19 that all creation worships God; He is the Truth! “Ave Maria” by Joques Arcadelt is one of many beautiful settings of this prayer. Why is the Blessed Virgin included in this segment? Through the incarnation of our Lord we have the holy gift of the Eucharist. Mary’s fiat allowed God to grow within her and be born into humanity, into history. It is certain that many ask the question, “What if she had said no?” But she did not. Instead, she offered herself and gave birth to Truth so we all may experience it, follow it, eat it, and enjoy everlasting life. “O Esca Viatorum” is a Eucharistic hymn written around 1647. The first verse expresses the desire of the faithful to be united with Christ in Eucharistic communion with His body. The 11
second verse prays that through this holy food believers will be strengthened on earth and hopefully be counted amongst the saints in heaven. The Council of Trent (1545-1563) gave the declaration of transubstantiation being the way by which the elements of bread and wine become His Body and Blood. Many have died protecting this understanding. As we know, Jesus said, “For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.” (John 6:55). There is no denying He is the Truth. Soloist: Bill Peterson “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” is a version of the Cherubic hymn from the Liturgy of St. James which dates to the late fourth or early fifth century in Jerusalem. The tune used today, “Picardy,” is commonly known. As the faithful pray this hymn they are transported to the image of the heavenly liturgy, the pierced lamb on the altar of God. One can see the angels kneeling before our Eucharistic Lord in His eternal banquet. In a first century homily, Origen expresses, “You are accustomed to take part in the divine mysteries, so you know how, when you have received the Body of the Lord…” (Homilies on Exodus 13:3). Brass Interlude The third section of our concert is about Jesus being the Life. The Way focused on discipleship, the Truth focused on the Eucharist. Through this Life the faithful are given the strength to follow His commandments and maintain identity with the Truth. This is not simple. The following songs are prayers asking for the strength and encouragement to face the task of believing and giving oneself completely to Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. “O Sing A Joyful Song to God” is a song of praise to God inspired by the Psalms. Patrick Liebergen wrote the text and set it to the music entitled “Psalm XIX” by Benedetto Marcello. No matter the struggles and difficulties our saints endured, they were always ready to live the life of Christ by singing joyfully to God. “Servants of Peace” is an adaptation of the prayer of St. Francis by Father James Quinn, S.J. Choosing to live in the life of Christ brings the challenges of the beatitudes. St. Francis certainly realized that the grace to live in Christ’s life was impossible without prayer. Francis gave the world beautiful words that help the faithful with their own desires for humility and service. “O Lord, Increase My Faith” by Orlando Gibbons is a prayer asking for wisdom, charity, chastity, and patience in order to stay grounded in the true faith of Christ. The first to say to Jesus “increase our faith” were the disciples in Luke (17:5). Uniting oneself with the life of Christ can certainly take its toll on the faith of the individual if prayer for strength is not constant. “Nada te Turbe” is an adaptation of a prayer by St. Terese of Avila. It means “let nothing disturb you.” Having complete confidence that God has full control is part of the essence of the example of Christ. Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you, he who has God lacks nothing: God alone suffices. Vs. 1: Everything passes. God doesn’t change. Patience reaches all who have God. Segunda Lectura Lectura de la carta a los Hebreos (Hebreos 9:11-15) Hermanos: Cuando Cristo se presentó como sumo sacerdote que nos obtiene los bienes definitivos, penetró una sola vez y para siempre en el “lugar santísimo”, a través de una tienda, que no estaba hecha por mano de hombres, ni pertenecía a esta creación. No llevó consigo sangre de animales, sino su propia sangre, con la cual nos obtuvo una redención eterna. Porque si la sangre de los machos cabríos y de los becerros y las cenizas de una ternera, cuando se esparcían sobre los impuros, eran capaces de conferir a los israelitas una pureza legal, meramente exterior, ¡cuánto más la sangre de Cristo purificará nuestra conciencia de todo pecado, a fin de que demos culto al Dios vivo, ya que a impulsos del Espíritu Santo, se ofreció a sí mismo como sacrificio inmaculado a Dios, y así podrá purificar nuestra conciencia de las obras que conducen a la muerte, para servir al Dios vivo! Por eso, Cristo es el mediador de una alianza nueva. Con su muerte hizo que fueran perdonados los delitos cometidos durante la antigua alianza, para que los llamados por Dios pudieran recibir la herencia eterna que él les había prometido. Evangelio Lectura del santo Evangelio según san Marcos (Mc 14:12-16, 22-26) El primer día de la fiesta de los panes Azimos, cuando se sacrificaba el cordero pascual, le preguntaron a Jesús sus discípulos: “¿Dónde quieres que vayamos a prepararte la cena de Pascua?” Él les dijo a dos de ellos: “Vayan a la ciudad. Encontrarán a un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; síganlo y díganle al dueño de la casa en donde entre: ‘El Maestro manda preguntar: ¿Dónde está la habitación en que voy a comer la Pascua con mis discípulos?’ Él les enseñará una sala en el segundo piso, arreglada con divanes. Prepárennos allí la cena”. Los discípulos se fueron, llegaron a la ciudad, encontraron lo que Jesús les había dicho y prepararon la cena de Pascua. Mientras cenaban, Jesús tomó un pan, pronunció la bendición, lo partió y se lo dio a sus discípulos, diciendo: “Tomen: esto es mi cuerpo”. Y tomando en sus manos una copa de vino, pronunció la acción de gracias, se la dio, todos bebieron y les dijo: “Ésta es mi sangre, sangre de la alianza, que se derrama por todos. Yo les aseguro que no volveré a beber del fruto de la vid hasta el día en que beba el vino nuevo en el Reino de Dios”. Después de cantar el himno, salieron hacia el monte de los Olivos. Primera Lectura Lectura del libro del Éxodo (Éxodo 24:3-8) En aquellos días, Moisés bajó del monte Sinaí y refirió al pueblo todo lo que el Señor le había dicho y los mandamientos que le había dado. Y el pueblo contestó a una voz: “Haremos todo lo que dice el Señor”. Moisés puso por escrito todas las palabras del Señor. Se levantó temprano, construyó un altar al pie del monte y puso al lado del altar doce piedras conmemorativas, en representación de las doce tribus de Israel. Después mandó a algunos jóvenes israelitas a ofrecer holocaustos e inmolar novillos, como sacrificios pacíficos en honor del Señor. Tomó la mitad de la sangre, la puso en vasijas y derramó sobre el altar la otra mitad. Entonces tomó el libro de la alianza y lo leyó al pueblo, y el pueblo respondió: “Obedeceremos. Haremos todo lo que manda el Señor”. Luego Moisés roció al pueblo con la sangre, diciendo: “Ésta es la sangre de la alianza que el Señor ha hecho con ustedes, conforme a las palabras que han oído”. Dr. Hosffman Ospino nació en Colombia donde consiguió sus estudios en Filosofía. Enseñó Filosofía y religión en varios niveles académicos y trabajo para la Confederación de educación Católica de Colombia. Obtuvo su Maestría en Teología concentrándose en Historia de la Iglesia y obtuvo su doctorado en Teología y Educación del Colegio de Boston. El Dr. Ospino ha tenido varios estudios concentrándose en el dialogo entre Teología y Cultura y el impacto en el intercambio sobre la educación teológica Católica, catequesis y ministerio. Ha enseñado nacional e internacionalmente en estas áreas.

Dr. Timothy Matovina es profesor de Teología y Director ejecutivo del Instituto para los Estudios Latino Historia de Cristiandad. Su pasión por el impacto cultural y religioso de la presencia Hispana en los Estados Unidos lo ha llevado a realizar grandes estudios que han enriquecido grandemente la Teología. Ha participado en muchos congresos y conferencias y ha escrito algunos libros tales como Nuevas Fronteras en los Estudios Guadalupanos; Catolicismo Latino y además ha escrito muchos artículos en revistas que tienen siempre que ver con el encuentro cultural Hispano. Sin duda Dr. Matovina tendrá un gran impacto en nuestro salón hispano.

Doctora en Teología Dogmática por la Pontifica Universidad Gregoriana de Roma y formada en Espiritualidad Ignaciana por el Centro de Espiritualidad Cire de Bogotá. De origen Colombiano, ha servido a la Iglesia de su país, al igual que a la Iglesia de los Estados Unidos, en la formación teológica y espiritual de seminaristas, estudiantes univesitarios, aspirantes al diaconado y seglares en general. En los últimos años ha dedicado esfuerzos a la formación de las parejas y de las familias. Fue Jefe de Redacción del sitio web de la Conferencia Episcopal Norteamericana para las parejas(www.portumatrimonio.org) y fundadora del programa para jóvenes: “La Pareja Feliz”. Dirige y promueve ejercicios espirituales para líderes.

El Padre Julio César Domínguez, es párroco actual de la Parroquia de San Francisco de Asís, en Lenoir. La Eucaristía y la adoración al Santísimo Sacramento ha sido siempre su pasión y ha tratado siempre en su ministerio el infundir un amor real a Cristo Eucaristía. Su tema en el Congreso será: “La Misa, Misterio de Fe” y concentrará su conferencia en explicar la importancia de la Santa Misa y los ritos que en ella se llevan a cabo, dándole una significancia tal que los fieles entiendan los contenidos espirituales y místicos de la Santa Misa y de esta manera puedan participar más profundamente en ella.

Jugis
Nativo de Charlotte, el Obispo Peter J. Jugis es el cuarto obispo de la Diócesis de Charlotte. Ordenado sacerdote en en 1983 por el beato Juan Pablo II, Obispo Jugis ha servido en varias parroquias de la diócesis. Bajo su dirección, la diócesis comenzó a celebrar el congreso anual de la Eucaristía en el año 2005.
Su Eminencia el Cardenal Dolan Timothy Arzobispo de Nueva York Homilía Hora Santa: “La Sagrada Eucaristía: El Camino, La Verdad y La Vida del Católico Intencional” Sala A - Viernes, 12 de Septiembre, 10:15 a.m. DOLAN
Su Eminencia el Cardenal Dolan Timothy fue nombrado arzobispo de Nueva York por el Papa Benedicto XVI el 23 de Febrero de 2009. Un nativo de Missouri, fue ordenado sacerdote en 1976. Ha trabajado en el ministerio como párroco, rector de seminario y como secretario del Nuncio Apostólico en Washington, D.C. El Cardenal Dolan también se desempeñó como presidente de la Conferencia Estadounidense de Obispos Católicos. El 6 de Enero del 2012, Su Santidad el Papa Benedicto XVI anunció que el cardenal Dolan iba a ser nombrado miembro del Colegio Cardenalicio. Tras la renuncia del Papa Benedicto XVI, el Cardenal Dolan participó en el cónclave que eligió al Papa Francisco en Marzo de 2013.

La Procesión Eucarística 9 a.m. 12 de septiembre
La Procesión Eucarística, durante la cual el Obispo Peter J. Jugis lleva una custodia que contiene una hostia consagrada – El Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad de Jesucristo – es un punto culminante de los dos días del Congreso Eucarístico.
La procesión, presidida por el Obispo Jugis, se inicia a las 9 a.m. el Sábado 12 de Septiembre, en la Iglesia de San Pedro, 507 S. Tryon St., Charlotte. Le animamos unirse a la procesión y seguir a la Eucaristía, hacia el Centro de Convenciones de Charlotte. Los Primeros Comulgantes del 2015 encabezarán la procesión, junto al Obispo Jugis. (Ellos, junto a sus padres o apoderados, clero, religiosos y portadores de banderas deberán reunirse en Tryon Street, sur de la Iglesia de San Pedro, a más tardar 8:30 a.m.) Los padres deben de caminar al lado de sus hijos a lo largo de la procesión. A medida que el Santísimo Sacramento se acerca, por favor, estar en silencio y de rodillas hasta que la custodia pase. Luego que la procesión llegue al Centro de Convenciones, diríjase de acuerdo a las indicaciones de los acomodadores por los pasillos laterales a dentro del salón principal.

La ruta de la procesión La Procesión Eucarística comenzará a las 9 am en la Iglesia de San Pedro en el 507 S. Tryon St. Se continuará hacia el norte por Tryon Street, luego gire en East Third Street. A partir de ahí, la procesión va a la derecha en South College Street, luego gire a la izquierda en Stonewall Street y continúe hasta el Centro de Convenciones de Charlotte. Ingrese al Centro de Convenciones a través de la puerta grande. Los acomodadores estarán allí para dirigirlos. Luego reunase con sus hermanos católicos de toda la Diócesis de Charlotte en la Hora Santa que sigue.

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo, ¡Es para mí un gran placer en darles la bienvenida al Congreso Eucarístico! Durante estos días de nuestro Congreso Eucarístico, nos reunimos con alegría como los fieles de la Diócesis de Charlotte para celebrar nuestra fe y nuestro amor por nuestro Señor Sacramentado. El Señor nos ofrece la tarea de la Nueva Evangelización, y en la Eucaristía, Él nos alimenta y nos fortalece con su propio Cuerpo y su Sangre para la labor de llevarlo a Él y su Evangelio al mundo. Jesús es el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida que queremos ofrecer al mundo. Jesús es el Camino. Jesús es el camino al Cielo. Jesús es el camino Jugis a la vida eterna. Él es el camino a la felicidad. En la Eucaristía, el Señor nos alimenta con Si mismo, a medida que nosotros seguimos su camino desde el día de nuestro bautizo en adelante. Jesús es nuestra santidad y santificación, y como Él está verdaderamente y substancialmente presente en la Sagrada Eucaristía, Jesús hace que la Eucaristía se nuestra vía a nuestra santificación y santidad. Jesús es la Verdad. Pilato preguntó, “¿Que es la verdad?” Pero nosotros sabemos cuál es la verdadera pregunta, “¿Quién es la verdad? La Verdad es una persona, Jesús Mismo, y la Verdad nos habla a nosotros acerca de la Eucaristía y Él nos dice: “Este es mi Cuerpo” y “Esta es mi Sangre.” Jesús declara la realidad de su Presencia en la Eucaristía. En la Eucaristía, el Señor nos alimenta consigo Mismo y nos profundiza en su Verdad, para que nosotros podamos llevar la verdad del Evangelio a los demás. Jesús es la Vida. Jesús quiere que su Vida Divina este constantemente alimentando nuestras almas, así que Él nos da a Él mismo en la Eucaristía, el Pan de Vida. “Todo aquel que coma mi carne y beba mi sangre tendrá vida eterna, y yo lo resucitaré en el último día.” Si ustedes quieren vida, si quieren vida eterna, entonces aquí está en la Sagrada Eucaristía, la promesa de la vida eterna. Jesús es nuestra vida. Jesús vive en nosotros, y nosotros vivimos en Él. La enseñanza de que Jesús es el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida se convierte en una realidad de una manera maravillosa en la Eucaristía. En la Santa Comunión, Jesús nos llama a que nos alimentemos en el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida. Jesús es nuestro Camino. Jesús es nuestra Verdad. Jesús es nuestra Vida. En este Congreso Eucarístico reanuden su amistad con Jesús, quien está verdaderamente y substancialmente presente en la Sagrada Eucaristía. Abran sus corazones a este maravilloso regalo del amor de Jesús, quien los espera en el Santísimo Sacramento. Sinceramente en Cristo,
Oración para el Exito Espiritual del Congreso Eucarístico Diocesano ¡Oh Jesús!, que estás real, substancial y verdaderamente presente en el Santísimo Sacramento del Altar para ser alimento de nuestras almas. Dígnate bendecir y brindar el éxito a todos los Congresos Eucarísticos y asambleas eucarísticas, y muy especialmente a nuestro próximo Congreso Eucarístico de la Diócesis de Charlotte. Sé Tú, Señor, la inspiración de todos nuestros trabajos, decisiones y votos.
