CLASS OF 2022 Congratulations to the Class of 2022 on their outstanding success, not only academically, but also in their sporting, music and other cocurricular activities, and their effective leadership of the school community. Amongst this cohort was the largest ever group of students to be recognised for spending at least 12 years at The Cathedral School – 33 of them! At the Back to School BBQ in January this year, Nicholas Pang was named as Dux of School, leading an amazing cohort of seven students with an ATAR score greater than 99. The results across the whole year group were outstanding and the most impressive we have seen at The Cathedral School.

SCHOOL NEWS 2023 will be the final year at the school for Principal, Mr Ian Gamack. Now completing his third 5-year term as Principal, he is the longest-serving lay Principal in the history of The Cathedral School. The period since Ian, his wife Diana, and children Madeleine and James arrived in January 2009 has been one of significant development in all areas of the school, from academic and cocurricular programs to school facilities and management. We will have opportunities to recognise and celebrate all of that as the year progresses. The School Board now faces the difficult task of finding a suitable replacement to lead the school into the future. 2023 REUNION WEEKEND Get your friends together for the annual school reunion weekend on 22-23 July. Foundation Day will be celebrated by the school community on Friday with a school service and the highly anticipated Lagoon Dash, followed by the Sundowner by the Lagoon – a great opportunity for past students and current school families to relax and mingle with drinks and finger food. On Saturday we will host a school tour and a relaxed Reunion Lunch. We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s reunion weekend. Throughout the year, I will be travelling widely throughout north and west Queensland in our flash new boarding/marketing HiLux. I will be hosting Past Student Sundowners in various centres, so watch Facebook for dates and locations.
