ABOUT THE JACK A. VICKERS PROSTATE CANCER GOLF EVENT
The Jack A. Vickers Prostate Cancer Golf Event, started by Jack Vickers in 2006, is the only fundraising tournament held at Castle Pines Golf Club. Jack co-founded the Prostate Cancer Golf Event with one of the world’s leading surgeons and research oncologists, fellow Member Dr. David Crawford. Known as the “Cancer Quarterback,” Dr. Crawford has guided dozens of Castle Pines Members through diagnosis and treatment and has cared for more than 5,000 men facing prostate cancer.
Over the last 20 years, the Jack A. Vickers Prostate Cancer Golf Event has grown into the largest golf fundraiser for prostate cancer in the country, raising nearly $6 million to date. This incredible amount, benefiting the Jack A. Vickers Prostate Cancer Fund, has gone to fund research and early detection of a disease that affects an estimated one in eight men each year and is the second-leading cause of cancerous death in men.
