With the same aplomb you would use to throw money at a TLVN Ferrari, you can now add to your Italian Dream collection, another gorgeous classic. Here’s the deal: everyone else producing Lamborghini castings is trying hard to slap a LBWK body kit onto it. Not TOMYTEC this detailed stunner is so true to the original, its even being released in the original colour Viola SE30. Detailed-esqu engine (love the heat dissipating gold), opening parts. To be honest you would be very lucky to own one of these.

Admit it and it’s true of all of us. Specially guys. We have dreamt many times of being pursuit officers. Not necessarily wanting to be extremely law abiding. But just one chance to drive an R-34 at full throttle while the general populace scampers out of the way of your sirens. Keep dreaming! While you do order this gorgeous Skyline and add it to your Black and White collection.

Another popular Japanese car that gained a lot of popularity across the globe. The TOYOTA MR2 TURBO. It is extremely necessary to the TURBO because this car came in various engine outputs. But the Naturally Aspirated version was no slug either. Popular in the UK, US and many parts

this is going to be another lover solid casting that is going to be released in two colours and as per usual with Auto World these will be factory colours. Opening parts will be the rear engine bay hood which always so quaint when you think of the hulking engines you get in a Supercar. The biggest MR2 engine was 3.0 Turbo but clever engine placement and Japanese engine engineering made this car the poor man’s PORSCHE. Popular!
Not casted in this Livery yet but when it is released there will be a stampede or at least there should be. A) Uncommon Livery. B) It’s going to look stunning. C) This is going to pair well with the JL Toyota Land Cruiser and Trailer in TRD colours. Suddenly it all seems to fall into place and you’re probably kicking yourself for net reading the review we did on that set.

to one car out of all the releases TW does? It’s a shiny F40. Love the colour and the shininess which, seems to be the latest trend in Diecast releases.
Everyone is going chrome. Being a big collector of TW’s F40’s I can’t wait to add this to the tower of Horsepower I’ve’ got going with these releases.
Apart from the chrome finish and the blue hue the wheels look really good rocking that side profile and I really dig the Italdesign ‘go faster’ stripe. Looking at the last F40 release I can guarantee the detail is going to be brilliant, down to the engine under the engine cover.

Drifting is the now a mainstay in Motorsport and because it originates from grass rooted madness, it’s a highly accessible sport. Which is what Elias and Johannes thought. Sponsored by RED BULL and drifting professionally these brothers have drifted

The masters of modding Mustangs have dropped a gorgeous crossbar convertible, and GT SPIRIT brings it to you in 1/18 scale in the usual stunning detail that has your visitors needing to lift their jaws from up the floor. GT Spirit have certainly improved in leaps and bounds and that reflects heavily in the last few years. The release has been nothing short of stunning.

down to the Red Bull can sitting on the dashboard inside the car. Red Bull livery (the NU livery to collect suggest by me in 2023) looks pretty cool and the Drift Brothers have done a pretty decent looking build celebrated by Otto Mobiles decent reproduction of it.

I’m going to say the wheels on this are enough to get me to shell out the funds for this Shelby 350. Matt Bronze Flow Forged alloy wheels against the white complimented with dark blue Le Mans Stripes. This is a car in full suit.

Solido is doing a pickup in 1/18! They have chosen the FORD Raptor, probably one of the most favoured pickup trucks over the last 10 years and it will be getting its release in LAVA Red. This is exciting because the Raptor is not just popular across the world, but it is also highly modified with various version and packages available. This means with a base model as good as this, the mods that can be done are endless.
For collectors not into modifying your models well, then it’s another great American classic like the old Chevy trucks and the famous DODGE RAM. With SOLIDO picking up the base version we can only hope that they will expand the line with the different extreme versions of the RAPTOR that are out there in the world.

1/43 scale lines are expanding at SOLIDO this year with more detailed goodness. Cue the action car chase sequence music. UK favourite export and beloved ride the MINI makes its way into the Solido catalogue after making an appearance in last years line up with the original MINI Cooper. Pained in a lovely shade of blue and highlighted with gloss red this Cooper Works MINI is dressed to impress the rest of you model collection.
scale a run for their because it’s mass-produced costing less yet with newer models and more details in the casting. SOLIDO has also been very up to date in terms of keeping the releases fresh with the latest body tuners and brands.

Merchandising is the name of the game and now that Formula 1 is at highest popularity levels anyone who is a hardcore piston head loves a good Formula 1 merch haul. So here we have the workhorse watch from Team Aston Martin. NATO styled strap for durability and easy to clean specially when you get dirty rubber tyres to change in 2 seconds. Carbon fibre case for weight reduction because your Honda Espace needs all the help it can get. The official name of the colour of the dial is Podium green and the bit that I really like is the inclusion of the rubber

Celebrating the works of motorsport artiste Jim Bamber I find myself looking at Omologato on the screen wishing, just wishing. Committed to creating anything to do with watches and motorsport this beautiful piece features the artwork Jim Bamaber did to describe the moment Mar Webber got a lift from Fernando Alonso after his car was DNF’d. The watch also comes signed at the back engraved into the Sapphire Glass by Jim Bamber.

MARCHAND CARBON GT DETOMASO SORPASSO CHRONO VELOCITA
Yep you guessed it, more carbon fibre than a Gumpert Apollo. Not excessively expensive with prices starting at 250GBP but it certainly looks the part. Seiko machine housed in opulent carbon fibre.

Engraved crown and super luminova hands, numerals and indicators. But what is really nice about the time piece are the retro designed sub dials that look like they have been lifted off a late 80’s exotic.

Although it has everything to do with driving, it has nothing to do with the car brand DeTomaso. Instead, this is a passion project from a gentleman who loves driving and lives the passion of the ‘road trip’. In this vein the DETOMASO brand of watches was born, and they look very chic impressive. The watch is powered by Japanese movement as most highend brands are. There is a metallic blue hue that permeates throughout the design which is then highlighted by a lovely shade of orange. The meaning of ‘SORPASSO’ is to overtake at ‘VELOCITA’, speed. When you have a watch that continuously encourages to live in the fast lane it’s hard to take it off.

sea crafts teamed up with FERRARI to bring the super luxury car brand to the high seas. The muse for this collab was the Ferrari Testarossa . You can see a perfect example of this with the side strakes that were definitive on the Testarossa. KESS models brings this to our tables in 1/43 scale. Painted in Rosso Corsa this speed boat featured twin Ferrari V8 engines, a carbon fibre spoiler, leather seating in the cockpit and automotive styled instruments.
This was what you took to the MONACO Marina to watch the F1 races in opulence. Now this may not be a boat magazine but anything with Ferrari badging on it gets its place. And really, wouldn’t you want a replica of this piece of art. 32 feet of speed boat scaled down and mounted on a beautiful leather trim base. Exquisite details. Looks fun!

M2 machines always has a lovely line up of American Muscle machines with lovely colour ways and designs. This round the card art gets a bit of an upgrade in terms of pizzaz. Four releases in this series and one chase cars.

You cannot say American Muscle without considering Dodge Charger Daytona. This is a car comfortable on the racetrack and drag strip. The large whale tell at the rear is necessary to keep the monster on the road. The M2 Machines livery looks amazing in black and orange which certainly suits the shape of the car. Clever colour styling. Direct Connection to this is one of the best places to get aftermarket mods and engine tunes for Dodge. From crate engines to pretty much everything you will need to modify your dodge. These guys don’t play.

First up we have the Pink Chevy Impala, but it is graced very nicely with black highlights and five spoke low riders styled wheels, for collectors who like the American land yachts this going to be a real crowd pleaser. The second casting in the lineup is the FORD F-150 pickup. This is where the F-150 legend began with FORD doing many more variations over the years. This model is a version that is powered by a Holman Moddy race and performance engine. And to be fair Holman Moddy was a very successful race outfit.
And finally, for those that like the exclusives and chase models the Chevy Impala in this release set comes as a Pink Impala with Chrome pink highlights. Those wheels are enough to have me hooked.

There is very little proof that you can shell out between 1.5 and 3 million American Dollars to own a Porsche 959 & with as few as 292 cars made, not one 959 should be given to anyone who has fewer than 100 licenses.

This was a machine that was created to be punishing. After all, if one were to look at the cars it had to beat and was following a crowd of monster cars in Group B rallying. Unlike most high-detail 1/64 brands Tarmac Works likes to mix it up a lot. They have a good balance of releases, and there is always something to look forward to in each batch. Obviously, they have strong licenses and instead of harping on the same thing over and over again, they spread their wings and deliver exotic cars that not many brands do.
While most brands play to the masses to make the big money, these guys are doing it for the passion of making cars that us collectors can afford. Like this gorgeous beast of a car. The Porsche 959.

New Casting of the 90’s Eagle Talon by Auto world and if you are looking at it and thinking….. wait a minute that’s a Mitsubishi Eclipse trying to get a green card, you’re not far from being wrong. Nice to see Auto World paying homage to the time USA wanted Japanese tech with a US badge. And, the name is pretty cool ‘Talon’
The name wasn’t just the cool bit. AS many collectors and car lovers know, FWD is much more fun in the 21st century, RWD will always be a riot and a hoot, but AWD always makes you feel on the edge, comfortably. Like a calculated risk. Or so we tell ourselves.
In the 90’s an AWD compact sports car was always in demand and the talent the TALON had was it looked like a sports car, had a TURBO engine and was a reasonable priced car (there was a FWD version as well for the TSi but we’ll ignore that).

Even though it comes in at a lower price point and lower detail than that of brands like MINI GT and Tarmac Works, this was once regarded as adult collector cars that were designed to be a level better than Hotwheels mainliners. And they still maintain a level of detail. For example, the bonnet has a small bump which is not a design or production flaw in the casting. It is an engineering modification to accommodate the intercooler unit on the TURBO Models.

Open from 1986 to 2014, the Sendai Racetrack was a regular stopover for many endurance track events. Because this track shared the same eco space as an amusement park, this was the perfect opportunity for many motorsport fans to turn a visit to the track into a family day out, making motorsport events held here very popular.

Yet another Iconic representation from INNO64 of a car that won one of the toughest challenges, contributing to the brand’s legendary status, it has held to this day, being probably one of the greatest car brands and line of models to exist. For fans who are into this segment of motorsport, I can tell you this is a legit casting of the R33 that won the 1995 Super Taikyu Endurance race. Collecting motorsport cars is also a great way to collect your favourite casting with the justification that you would want to collect all the liveries the specific model covered.

JGTC and JTCC events put the entire Japanese Motor Industry on the map, producing engineering wonders and indestructible performance engines that were covered in cool, colored wrapping like this prime example right here.

Tockachi International Speedway was a track where the NISSAN Skyline dominated in endurance races and eventually where some GTRs were born. This model is the R33, famously known as a ‘Prince Chiba Skyline’. These are skylines run by the Motorsport team sponsored by the Nissan Agency ‘Prince Chiba’. Choice of car? GT-R’s! Choice of team colour? Green! And the Choice of tyre? Falken!

This was one of the cars that gave NISSAN a cult following that has not been seen since the 1980s supercar trifecta. The Skyline GT-R has become the most adored car in the world and has obliterated even Lamborghinis and Ferraris. A working-class hero through and through.
I personally love the way the R33 looks, and Prince Chiba’s version has gotten me excited and ready to put it on display with the rest of my FALKENthemed cars. This is one 1/64 model you are going to find hard to resist.

On the side of the car, it says ‘ENDLESS’, but we like to say ‘FLAWLESS’. That would be the adjective we would use for the replica of this stunning R34 Skyline that took the reins from the R32 and R33 and whipped so much horsepower into the motorsport industry that the only way to take it on was to use another R34. The actual car was driven by an all-star cast featuring Mitsuhiro Kinoshita and Takayuki Aoki, beating the previous year’s winners, who were driving a Falken R34 #1.

Beating the FALKEN Team R34 and dominating the entire championship in 2002. Collectors like yourself are faced with the exciting prospect of owning one of these. What’s really smashing is that INNO64 has done a stellar job of recreating every detail of the actual car. Given their past success with insane R34 replicas, this is going to fit in perfectly. If you are just starting, then you can’t get a more exciting car into the collection.

Johnny Lightning bestows upon us another slick-looking vehicle that was known as the Gentlemen’s Muscle Car, with all its amazing in-car features, along with a powerful engine that would put most young upstarts to shame at the traffic lights. JL keeps things simple but always drops a solid casting with both weight and appeal. While everyone is scrambling after the latest Liberty Walk Lambo or unlicensed Mustang with bright shining paint, there are a lot of collectors who appreciate things that are a little different and off the trend.
So far, the releases by other growing, newer big names in 1/64 scale for American releases have been scattered and unimaginative. This is where American brands like Johnny Lightning and Auto World are shining. Longterm partnerships between American car manufacturers and American Diecast Brands have been quite strong, having better access to a wider range of models.

JL’s not-so-secret sauce is giving us collectors a choice of colours with all their castings. A release ‘A’ set and a release ‘B’ set. The chosen colours are also selected from the manufacturer’s original paint code to keep a level of authenticity for collectors who like to have the details that JL keeps handy by printing them on the card art.

These stylish painted coupes also feature rubber wheels and an opening hood to the engine bay, which is also one of the plus points of buying JL cars. They make great garage diorama shots.

I know it’s not the same Subaru, but after that opening chase sequence involving a Red Subaru, every time I see a Red Subaru of any model, that is all I can think of. This is probably MINI GT’s closest rival in terms of detail. This is TOMYTEC’s third release of this casting, and it is stunning. The blue version is well-received, but the Malaysian Diecast EXPO 2025 edition stands out for its striking colour.

For hardcore 1/64 collectors, TLVN is a cult following. The brand adheres to the Japanese art of delivering perfection for the end user, without compromising or trying to reinvent the wheel.

If you can find anything wrong with this casting, please let me know. Maybe I’m blind to imperfections because I see so many models, and my life is submerged in cars. But as usual, finding any faults with this is impossible.

ENGINE DETAIL: COLLECTOR GRADE 5/5
DE-TATCHABLE ENGINE HOOD
SPONSOR DECALS IN BOX

In 1986 British FORD decided they wanted to bring back another rally hero to their record books and delivered a sucker punch in the shape of the RS200. A car that was so lethal it was deemed unsafe and probably contributed to the downfall

of the Group B category. This year 2025 Tarmac Works delivers their own sucker punch with a car + engine detail so sweet this might be dangerous for a lot of mid 40 and above collectors. So sweet it needs its own sugar tax. So sweet… you won’t need sugar in your tea. Sweet.

Certainly, an appealing model to those who are huge fans of this bite sized pocket rocket that punched above its weight class in the Group B segment. It was built like it had nothing lost, and, it didn’t win anything except a bit of a reputation for being dangerous. But it was fast noisy and supremely fun to watch battling it amongst its more powerful rivals.

Tarmac delivers great detail in the ultimate of their lineup of cars which is Hobby64+. Hood mounted light array with the individual light lens looks cool but the most powerful pull this model has is the detailed engine under the removable rear engine hood.

Detailed engines on the scale of 1/64 scale are becoming increasingly popular, but Tarmac Works was the first to make this insane step and so far, they are one of the few brands that are licensed to do so. So, the engine and mechanical data are correct.

Undoubtedly the Tomica Limited Vintage line is as exclusive as is niche. While most diecast companies work hard on aiming for European and US vintage cars TOMYTEC stick to their guns and hero the Japanese automotive culture. And, just as the rest of the world had their classics, the Japanese had their sweet classic rides too.

Loving the decision to change colours to distinguish between LV models and LVN models that are post 1990. This is going to make it easier for ordering online and when rushing through diecast shops.

This is a new tooling from TOMYTEC, and when they do a new tooling, you can always expect yet another level of perfection. The Toyopet Crown S40 was built to be the embodiment of luxury in the brand’s lineup and has continued to this day. Only bettered by the Lexus Brand. To reflect that, this beautiful grey replica by TOMYTEC highlights the beauty of the 60’s designs in true 1/64 scale right down to the period correct badging.

1997 LeMans looked really promising for the Team fielding two PORSCHE GT1 EVO’S #25 and #26.

Really promising.
Hans-Joachim Stuck, Thierry Boutsen and Bob Wollek drove the PORSCHE works team GT1 #25 qualifying to start second of the grid while Emmanuel Collard and Ralf Kelleners joined Yannick Dalmas to pilot #26 qualifying 8th.

But it soon ended with both Porsche’s dominating on track to first and second place.

The next day early morning team PORSCHE AG is struck with bad luck and Wollek makes a mistake and fatally crashes the car taking them out of the race at 7.45 am.

“I
don’t really know what happened, I was trying to outpower a GTC McLaren and I ran right on the kerb and started to slide. All of a sudden, I spun. I don’t know if it was my mistake or if the driveshaft broke.”
Unnecessary when the PORSCHE was 2 laps ahead of the McLaren. An unbelievable lead by the two PORSCHES, well, by now one.

Sadly, with all the dominance displayed on track, reliability killed the final hope as car No. 26 developed a transmission leak which led to a fire break out retiring the car at 1.45 pm, just a few hours to victory.

If you are an ardent Lemans fan and love collecting 1/64 Lemans track cars then you already know about Sparky’s rock-solid license agreement with the LeMans Racing body. You can pick up the team cars in a double pack, un-bashed and unburnt. And as you can see, with lovely precision detail.

IXO model cars and TARMAC WORKS 1/64 cars collaborate to bring collectors detailed European race car replicas. And this partnership has proven to be very beneficial, as TARMAC WORKS has opened a seductive can of worms by way of producing detailed racing Ferrari’s together with IXO.

Obviously, this isn’t a Ferrari, but the point I’m trying to make is that these licenses don’t come easy, especially from Ferrari. This means TARMAC Works must maintain a certain level of detail to appease Ferrari. Which dove tails into other production cars as well. So yay for us collectors.

From the point of view of a parent who loves to ‘drive’ there are few cars that match up to the Forrester. One could be the VOLVO 850 Turbo RS Estate or the SAAB AERO 9 Estate, fast wagons as they are termed or in Japan known as ‘sleepers’, built to look docile engineered to bite your head off! And of course when you want value for money with spectacular detail, turn to TOMIC LIMITED VINTAGE NEO!

Subaru collectors are going to go mental for this casting because there really isn’t any other brand dropping these modern JDM classics.
In terms of choosing castings TOMYTEC is certainly ahead of everyone else and have a strong grip on Japanese auto licenses. No Liberty Walk no RWB no VEILSIDE no PANDEMS just pure perfection and high detail in stock Japanese car cult classics.
Also, their line up isn’t flooded with NISSAN GT-R’s. It’s refreshing to see other manufacturers getting the limelight and collectors have a wider choice of not just the latest but coverage of an extensive section of Japan’s automotive culture.
The Subaru Forester is such a clear example of great diecast strategy that has kept the brand alive for so long.

For the hardcore RWB fans Tarmac Works continues to release more versions of the great Nakai’s work which these days for him seems endless. With the demand for RWB’s growing world wide Tarmac Works has plenty of opportunities to deliver more 1/64 RWB goodness to colour up your Rough World.

The Pink Slips line has gone into complete overdrive with JADA joining in with the tuner kings. They’ve got RWB’s and AKIRA NAKAI is counting the license fees jet setting around the world eating at Nando’s, drinking STELLA and inspiring more diecast brands to drop his designs.

This is a great step away from the usual Hollywood Rides and Fast n’ Furious line proving to global collectors that they can deliver across the board. And honestly with the prices of shipping and tariffs and taxes I would highly recommend models that have decent castings at great prices that you can take out and enjoy without worry.

For example, why waste a perfectly pink sunset keeping your RWB all locked away. JADA brings you an RWB the way it’s meant to be, ENJOYED!

The strangest thing happened a few days before I was to write my review of this SOLIDO RWB. I was watching a Studio Ghibli animation, and in one of the scenes, there was a flash of a grandfather’s clock and on the dial was ‘Porco Rosso’. Immediately, I pulled out my phone and googled the name, resulting in the animation by Ghibli artist and director Miyazaki called ‘Porco Rosso’, also known as the ‘Scarlet Pig’. Obviously, Akira Nakai San is a Ghibli fan.

Adding to SOLIDO’s expanding lineup of tuner cars in its portfolio, the big, winged creature carries the hues of a famous tobacco brand, which, as a design feature, looks striking and stands out. The more RWBs I collect and display, the more I feel that these will go down in automotive history as cars of art, and Akira Nakai, an artist.

By now, the INITIAL D story is a household name, whether you like anime, Japanese art, drift culture, car culture, or JDM culture. INITIAL D has crossed so many cultures that it’s like a superhero of pop culture, and of course, has inspired the entire drift industry in a big way.

No surprises that JADA, whose entire universe is built on pop culture, has expanded into the Initial D scene in a big way. I am really hoping that JADA does the entire INITIAL D Team. They have the licenses for most of the cars, and with the opportunity to get the cars with the figures, this is going to be a huge hit for 2026.

THIS CAR COMES LOADED WITH ALL THE USUAL JADA OPTIONS OF OPENING DOORS, BONNET, REAR LID AND THE ADDITION OF POP-UP HEADLIGHTS AS WELL. ANY CUSTOMIZING IDEAS COMING UP?
390 g block of firm tofu
2 tsp plain all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sunflower oil
3 heaped tbsp orange marmalade
Pinch of dried chili flakes
Small handful of coriander cilantro, roughly torn
Generous pinch of sea salt
Remove as much moisture from the tofu as possible using a tofu press. Alternatively, wrap the tofu block in paper towels and place on a plate. Place another plate on top of the block and add a couple of books or a pan to weight it down. Press for at least 1 hour.

Slice through the tofu lengthways to create three thin blocks of tofu, then chop each slice into even triangles.
Spread out the flour on a clean work surface and lightly toss each piece of tofu in the flour to coat.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Once the oil is hot, use tongs to add the tofu to the pan and cook for 5 minutes until golden, then turn the tofu over and cook for another 5 minutes, or until the outer is crisp and golden.
In the meantime, whisk together the marmalade, chilli flakes and 1 tablespoon of cold water in a bowl. Pour the glaze into the pan, coating the tofu evenly.
Remove from the heat and scatter with the coriander and sea salt.
Cut out the pressing stage by sourcing pre-pressed tofu. Standard firm tofu is now available in supermarkets.
