Accidentals with arrows indicate microtonal tuning. The dotted arrows represent a smaller tuning adjustment than the regular arrows. The alterations only give approximations. The performers are asked to adjust their intonation according to the partial indicated, e.g. 7. = 7th partial. The fundamental to refer to is also indicated, e.g. “adjust the partials to the fundamental in the Double Bass”).
Quartertones are all notated as usual.
