for cello and percussion, in unison
the percussionist also plays a cello. the cellist and the percussionist sit side by side - playing, sitting and moving rhythmically in unison. the percussionist uses only her hands, slapping and stroking and tapping in unison with the cello part. the percussionist is not obligated to mirror the notes or phrases or directions of the cello part and is encouraged to find as many interesting and dramatic ways to sound the cello as she can.
