Vibrato / flautato
Orgel 1 – oberes Manual normal gestimmt, unteres Manual ¼ Ton tiefer

Vibrato / flautato
Generally the work should be played non vibrato. “vibr.” applies only to the referred note. “sempre vibr.” applies to all notes in a passage until “non vibr.” appears. “flaut.” applies only to the given note.
Intonation
Quarter-tone accidentals indicate quarter-tones with tempered tuning. Depending on the context, accidentals with arrows denote changes of smaller intervals, between a sixth- and an eighth-tone.
I am aware that intonation and sound colour are very closely related. Primarily the player should choose the best sounding fingerings.
Glissando
The following types of glissando are used:
A glissando which starts immediately and is even throughout. The starting note should be emphasized but the resultant note not. non vibr. / vibr.
A glissando with a „to“ and „fro“ movement. This gesture should be perceived as an enlarged and rhythmically precise vibrato. The glissando lines have not been written out. Instead, smaller noteheads signify a figure to be played with glissandi from note to note.
The complete figure is to be played with a glissando between each note. Occasionally glissando lines are written out for clarity. Pitches with smaller noteheads should always be reached with a glissando movement.
Portamento non vibr. / vibr.
Electric guitar
“Vibr.” refers to vibrato created with the left hand. “Trem.” denotes vibrato with the whammy bar (right hand). The second string should be tuned up a quarter tone. This makes it possible for all quarter-tone lines to be intonated accurately.
An E-Bow and a Bottleneck are needed.
Korg BX3
A keyboard amplifier will be needed, as well as a subwoofer that can be used for both organs. It is recommended to give each player a small mixer to control the optimal balance between the manuals. This mixer can also be used to control the subwoofer. Especially bars 509-581 require a lot of subwoofer.
The manuals must be carefully tuned before rehearsal begins. Use a tuner!
Organ 1 – upper manual tuned normally, lower manual tuned ¼ tone lower
Organ 2 – upper manual tuned ⅛ tone lower, lower manual tuned ⅜ tone lower
Unless otherwise indicated, music on the upper stave should be played on the upper manual (I), and the lower stave on the lower manual (II).
The nine drawbars are notated as follows: 00 000 000 0. Settings from 0–8. For vibrato, chorus, rotary, keyclick, percussion: use the corresponding buttons. Preset: In bar 686 the preset II is used. Use also the corresponding button for this.
Disposition Percussion 2 Percussion 3
1
Place loudspeakers on stands directly behind each musician. The organs, guitar and percussion should ideally sit slightly higher.
NB for Conductor: when the E-Guitar is in the middle, it may seem to sound too loud. The reason for this is that the loudspeaker is pointed directly at the conductor. For the audience the E-Guitar will often sound too quiet.
