I would like to thank Andre’a, Hannah, Dom, and Brayden for devoting time from their busy schedules to be a part of my recital. This would not have been possible without your hard work and dedication, and most importantly your friendship. I would also like to thank Mei for being such an important figure throughout my time here at Carthage. From piano lessons to jury accompaniment and main stage musicals, I have acquired a great deal of knowledge that I will carry with me throughout my career thanks to Mei. I am forever grateful to Rita for being such a wonderful teacher and coach. During my year of vocal rehabilitation, she was by my side every step of the way. Rita, thank you for helping me find my voice again, and instilling in me the confidence to keep going. Lastly, I would like to thank all my friends and family who have always been my biggest cheerleaders. Your love and support never goes unnoticed and I am always so proud to see your smiling (and crying) faces in the audience.
Vivian Alexander has always loved to sing and perform, and she began doing musical theatre in middle school in her home of Saint Paul, Minnesota. She has continued being in shows ever since then, and even starred in The Wizard of Oz during Covid on the front lawn of her high school, where she played Dorothy accompanied by her corgi Pippa as Toto. Her Carthage credits include Sue Snell (Carrie: The Musical), Our Lady of the Spa (Nine), Erato/Ensemble (Xanadu), and Judas (Jesus Christ Superstar). Vivian is also proud of the work she did behind the scenes on shows such as Terminal Exhale and several student dance shows. She is looking forward to acting professionally after graduation.
Yu-Mei Chang (She/Her) is a music director and pianist active on theater stages in Taiwan, China, and the Midwest. After graduating from Carthage College with a major in Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy, she started her musical adventure in America.
Andre’a Santoyo is a senior music education major with a concentration in vocal music education. She is a member of the Carthage Choir and was recently a soloist on the summer 2026 UK tour. Andre’a was recently seen in Carthage’s all-female production of Jesus Christ Superstar. She has also performed previously in Bring It On and Sister Act. Andre’a is a music education departmental fellow and has taught outreach courses with the Bryant Community Center in Racine. She is student teaching this semester and is excited to begin her career as a public school teacher.
Hannah Duda is a sophomore Musical Theatre, Theatre, and Secondary Education triple major. She has always loved singing and performing and her first theatrical experience was at Mahone Middle School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Her Carthage credits include Ensemble in Life Is A Dream), Judas understudy and ensemble in Jesus Christ Superstar, and Alice Murphy in Brightstar which opens Spring 2026. Hannah is so happy to have the opportunity to work with Vivian, as she is an incredible performer and friend.
Dom Luzwick is thrilled to be working on Vivian's recital with her. You may have previously seen Dom on the Carthage mainstage playing opposite Vivian in Carrie: The Musical (Tommy Ross) or sharing the stage in Xanadu (Danny) or Nine (Ensemble & Guido U/S). Dom will be graduating in spring of 2027 with a major in Musical Theatre and minor in Directing. Congrats to Viv!!!
Brayden Follett is honored to be a part of Vivian’s recital, and hopes you love the accumulation of her amazing work. He has previously been seen as Musidorus in Head Over Heels (Carthage College), Gleb Vaganov in Anastasia (Lakeside Players), and Mark Cohen in RENT (ECC). He thanks you again for coming to support the arts and supporting Vivian for her wonderful performance, and have a good laugh while here. @braydendfollett

Arts at Carthage acknowledges that the land on which our building stands is part of the traditional Potawatomi, Sioux, Peoria, Kickapoo, and Miami peoples past, present, and future. These homelands reside along the southwest shores of Michigami, North America’s largest system of freshwater lakes. We honor with gratitude the land itself, and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations. Many Indigenous peoples thrive in this place—alive and strong, and this calls us to commit to continuing to learn how to be better stewards of the land we inhabit as well.
