biography Brian Dean is currently a Junior Vocal Performance and Mathematics double major and hopes to become an actuary or data scientist while continuing to sing and teach music as a private lesson teacher. Some accomplishments throughout his career include his activity in leading roles for musical theater, which include but are not limited to The Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Uncle Fester in The Addams Family, Andrew Carnes in Oklahoma! and Amos Hart in Chicago. Brian has also been a part of the Union Grove High School choir, acting as a leading solo bass in numerous performances which include Christmas Caroling at several venues across Racine and Kenosha, Wisconsin as well as singing lead solos in Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. After graduating from High School, he has been a member of the Carthage Choir for 3 years as a baritone, an active cellist in the Carthage Philharmonic Orchestra and also being a part of the Lincoln Chamber Singers acapella group. He continues to perform for the Carthage and Racine/Kenosha community to this day, even being given the esteemed honor to perform in prestigious events such as the Carthage College 2021 Honors Recital. Brian has been performing/singing music for well over 10 years and has no hopes of slowing down.
thank you’s I would like to thank my mom and dad, Maestro Berg, Dr. Garcia-Novelli, Dr. Shapovalov, Dr. Kawakami and all my close friends and colleagues for being such kind and supportive mentors for me over the years at Carthage. It is all of you that makes me feel proud being a part of the Carthage Community and being able to continuously perform for all of you. I would also like to give a special thanks to my math professor, Dr. Snavely, for introducing me to Tom Lehrer and his music in this program.
