Carthage offers an evening undergraduate studies program tailored to the unique needs of adult learners. Classes are offered in a seven-week format, providing flexibility for busy adults, professionals, and returning students. The evening curriculum is equivalent to the traditional daytime program, providing graduates with a degree from a reputable, nationally ranked tier one liberal arts institution. You will work with expert faculty — many of whom also teach full-time in the traditional program during the day.

Carthage boasts more than 50 years of experience in preparing adult learners for professional careers. Each year, more than 800 busy adults enroll in rigorous degree and certificate programs that enhance their personal and professional lives.
Your Personal Academic Plan You will work closely with a dedicated advisor to map out a personal academic plan. You will be able to see when courses are offered, the recommended sequence of courses, and your path to graduation. We understand that sometimes life events interfere with your plan, so don’t worry; flexibility is built into the plan to get you back on track to completion.
Flexibility start any time
Carthage offers a year-round academic calendar (fall, winter, spring and summer terms). Students can begin classes at six entry points each year.
accelerated 7-week format The vast majority of courses, including general education, electives, and upperlevel courses, are offered in the seven week format. These courses are delivered in an innovative “hybrid” design—combining face-to-face class sessions with online learning opportunities. Some courses are not compatible with the seven week or evening format; we’ll identify those in your academic plan so you can plan ahead.
convenience If you have professional or personal commitments, you may interrupt your studies for a term and resume at your convenience. Your personal academic plan will allow you to plan ahead and stay on track for graduation.
transfer credits Transfer students receive credits for appropriate courses taken at other institutions. With appropriate transfer credit, some students can complete a Bachelor of Arts in as few as two years. You will work closely with your dedicated advisor to review the transfer credits and incorporate them into the personal academic plan.
the carthage advantage Service accessible, dedicated faculty At Carthage, you will work with and learn from expert professors who recognize the unique needs of adult learners. Our faculty members are caring, accessible outside of class, and dedicated to the success of each student. Of the full-time faculty, 90 percent hold a Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree in their fields.
individual academic advisors Each student has a personal academic advisor who helps select appropriate courses, answers questions, and assists with any College-related need. Advisors are available in the daytime and evening to meet with any student who needs assistance.
tutoring The College provides complimentary individual tutoring assistance to all students during the fall and spring terms. Additionally, adult students are encouraged to utilize the resources in the Brainard Writing Center, which has evening hours for adult students.
evening hours Many offices offer evening hours by appointment. Whether you need to review your degree plan, purchase textbooks, discuss a billing question, or register for classes, you will find the Carthage staff available and willing to assist you at a time that fits your busy schedule.

Located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, midway between Chicago and Milwaukee, our backyard is the shoreline of great Lake Michigan.
traditional college experience Resources Students have full access to our state-of-the-art facilities, including the library, fitness center, and dining facilities – all located within our gorgeous campus on the shore of Lake Michigan. Additionally, adult students can take advantage of an array of collegiate events like speakers, sporting events, performances, art exhibits, and more!
hedberg library The Hedberg Library covers 65,000 square feet and unites traditional print, electronic, and multimedia information resources. Built in 2002, Hedberg Library’s collection contains more than 129,000 print and more than 193,000 electronic volumes, as well as a media and technology suite for video and audio production and a 24-hour cyber cafe.
career services Adult Undergraduate Studies students and their families have full access to Career Services, located in the heart of the campus. The Career Services staff is available to assist you with résumés, provide counsel for job advancement, help with a job search, and provide guidance with graduate school selection and application.
computer centers Students have access to PC and Macintosh computer labs located throughout campus. Students also have personal email addresses issued by the College and can access the Internet anywhere on campus. Laptop computers are available for check-out from the Hedberg Library.
new science center Our new science center includes a major renovation of the 70,000-square-foot David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Natural and Social Sciences and a new 35,000-square-foot wing to the building’s south and east. With 12 new interdisciplinary laboratories, an outdoor classroom overlooking one of the world’s greatest natural resources, and new spaces dedicated to student-faculty research, the building will be a model for integrated science education.

Admission Process To apply for admission to Adult Undergraduate Studies, interested students must complete the following steps:
