Hello Carriage Club Members, I hope everyone has made it through 2021 with little to no wear and tear. I was looking for a better year than 2020 and my feeling is it was, but not by as much as I was expecting. It seems like 2022 is going to come with a disclaimer. So, I am ready to remain positive and make the most of whatever is thrown our way and to ensure we have the staff to do it with!

We are starting to fill many of the empty positions. I have been receiving qualified applications for our current open positions. Finding qualified labor has been one of the biggest needs and struggles since the pandemic at The Carriage Club. We should be interviewing for the Communications and Membership Director before the end of the year. Being able to offer competitive compensation for positions, has in turn increased wages to the budget for 2022. The department heads are focused on keeping good employees at the club and attracting new individuals with the right mind set to serve our membership and become a good team member. Please introduce yourself to the new employees as they onboard and welcome them to The Carriage Club. The card room in the clubhouse has been home for the pilates studio and was in the process of having new flooring installed. Once the new flooring arrived and installation began, it was revealed the previous floor was sunken and was altered/renovated to appear level. Unfortunately, we are waiting on a new bid to correctly repair the floor and lay the new flooring. During the repair time, all but one pilates machine has been moved to the fitness center, and we hope to have the new flooring installed with all the pilates machines back and running by February. I do need to give a warning to the parents of small children. If they are around unsupervised, I will pick them up and carry them around until the child has identified you (or started screaming) at which time I will give them back to you. THE ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ATTENDING ALL OF THE EVENTS IN 2021. THE COMMITTEE ALONG WITH COURTLAND, BECCA, AND THE KITCHEN TEAM IS A GROUP OF CLUB MEMBERS THAT ASSIST IN GUIDING THE DIRECTION FOR THE SOCIAL CALENDAR FOR THE CLUB! THE COMMITTEE TAKES GREAT PLEASURE IN HELPING PLAN THE EVENTS FOR THE CLUB. THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THE COMMITTEES EFFORTS IS TO PROVIDE GREAT PROGRAM AND GREAT EXPERIENCES TO OUR MEMBERSHIP! OVER THE LAST MONTH THE COMMITTEE HAS WORKED TO PRODUCE THE 2022 EVENTS CALENDAR SO BE LOOKING FOR THAT IN EARLY JANUARY! WE HAVE MANY GREAT EVENTS PLANNED FOR 2022 AND WE HOPE THAT YOU ENJOY THEM! THE ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE ENCOURAGES ALL MEMBERS TO REACH OUT TO US TO SHARE YOUR THOUGHT AND IDEAS ABOUT SOCIAL EVENTS AT THE CLUB AND HOW WE CAN BEST SERVE THE MEMBERSHIP! LADIES NIGHT OUT
The club hosted the annual Ladies Night Out trunk show on November 17th, 2021. The club hosted eight local vendors for the ladies to shop while they enjoyed great food, drinks, and entertainment! We had over 120 ladies at this event!
SANTA BRUNCH Santa Brunch was held on December 5th! We had over 400 people join us for Brunch with Santa! Santa was here to take pictures and read books to the children! This is not an event you will want to miss in 2022.
LADIES HOLIDAY LUNCHEON
Many ladies joined us for the annual luncheon on December 7th. The club hosted 120 members and guests for this luncheon. All the ladies enjoyed great food, drinks, and company before the holidays!
FIGHT NIGHT On December 8th the club hosted Fight Night! With over 500 in attendance this was the largest Fight Night to date. The gentleman enjoyed a great prime rib buffet and many great fights for during the evening.
LAMPLIGHTER The club was very fortunate to bring back a club tradition this year, The Lamplighter. Members had a fabulous night with a 5 course meal paired with wine tastings. The members also enjoyed great entertainment throughout the event.
GINGERBREAD This was the first year that the club hosted Gingerbread Lane! The event was sold out, and the kids had a blast! The kids completed five activities including decorating gingerbread houses, creating cookie plates and mugs for Santa and more!
MEN'S COCKTAIL PARTY This year the club decided to have a poker night for The Men's Cocktail Party! There were over 60 people at this event and the club is looking forward to hosting next year!
CANDLELIGHT Candlelight was also a new event to the club this year! We had over 100 people dine with us for a special candlelit dinner before Christmas. The club had over 1000 candles throughout the dining room. Make sure you sign up for this event in 2022!
NYE To wrap up the holiday season the club hosted two New Year Eve events! The skate party was such a hit with all the kids while the adults enjoyed an evening with apps and a piano player in the dining room!

AUSTIN HEALY FITNESS EVENING STAFF
Hello Everyone, I am Austin Healy and I am excited to be part of everything going on here at the Carriage Club. A little bit about myself I am a graduate assistant at MidAmerica Nazarene University here in Olathe Kansas. I currently am a strength coach for our Olympic weightlifting team, before this, I was a baseball player for Shasta College in California for two years then transferred to MidAmerica to play for another three years. That being said I love fitness and seeing people accomplish goals that will help them in their everyday life. I love all fitness methods but Olympic weightlifting is something that really interests me and is something that I have learned so much about and am confident in my ability to effectively teach someone the movements for them to apply those same techniques practically. I am so excited to work with all of you and learn along the way. Thank you, Austin Healy
