Activity Key

Minimal Activity = Indicates limited walking and a mostly seated experience. Example: Most theatre trips.

Moderate Activity = Indicates an increased level of activity, but with opportunity to go at one’s own pace. Example: Casino trips.

Extensive Activity = Indicates a high level of activity, including stairs, periods of extended standing, long walking distances, balcony seating, or other limited accessibility at a venue. Example: Festivals.

Indicates that Luxury Coach with onboard restrooms will be included in the price of activity.

Gratuities

Trips with tour guides and motorcoach transportation do not include gratuity. An envelope will be passed to collect optional tips based on their service. Please bring small bills. Park District staff are not permitted to accept gratuities.

Accessibility

Most adult trips are accessible, however, participants using walkers or wheelchairs should confirm the trip location’s accessibility in advance. Use the Activity Key as a guide when determining if a program suits your capabilities. Indicate any accommodation requests at the time of registration. Front bus seating may be reserved in advance for those with applicable medical special needs only. Participants requesting front of bus seating should arrive fifteen minutes prior to departure time. Dietary Restrictions

Contact us prior to the payment due date with any dietary requests (vegetarian options are often available).

Pick-Up Location

The park district bus picks up at Simkus Recreation Center, 849 West Lies Road, unless otherwise noted. Meet in the lobby by the north east entrance.

Departure Times

Departure times listed for each trip reflect the time when the bus departs. Always arrive five to ten minutes early in order to check in and board the bus. Seating is first come, first served. Specific individual seats are not reserved for participants. See Accessibility section if you have a medical need that requires specific seating.

Payments

Registrants are required to either pay in full or enroll in a payment plan and complete an Automatic Payment Request form at the time of registration. If enrolling in a payment plan, payments for trips are withdrawn from the account listed on the Automatic Payment Request form on the payment due date for each trip. If a due date has passed, you may still enroll in the trip if space is available, payment is then due at registration. Enroll in the waitlist for a trip any time at no fee.

Trip Cancellations

Withdrawals should be requested prior to the payment deadline. If you can no longer attend after the deadline, withdrawals are only processed if a participant on the waitlist takes your spot or if you find a replacement. There is no guarantee that a waitlist replacement can be found after the due date has passed. If a friend is taking your place on the trip, a signed waiver and payment are due before your withdrawal can be processed. Passengers not on our roster are not permitted to attend. People Training Dogs

This five-week educational dog class teaches your dog obedience and also teaches you how to recognize, manage and change behaviors before they become undesirable. You and your furry friend learn how to walk on leash properly, sit, down, stay, place, come and stand for a veterinary exam. This class is for dogs five months and older. First class there are no dogs as we have a Q&A session along with going over the first week's homework assignment. Some training equipment is needed: a six-foot leash, 15-foot leash, place cot/dog bed, and tasty treats. The first class is mandatory to continue this course. Class led by Roc Solid Obedience.

Bike Club Membership

Join recreational bike riders of all levels, ages 13+, to explore the bike trails in DuPage and Kane County. Thursday rides are shorter/slower paced; around 8-12 miles. Participants must understand that depending upon the particular activity, certain risks, dangers and injuries due to acts of God, inclement weather, slips and falls, inadequate or defective equipment, inadequate supervision or instruction, premises defects, carelessness, horseplay, vehicle accidents and all other circumstances inherent to recreational activities/programs exist. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for the Carol Stream Park District to guarantee absolute safety.

WAIVER & RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in this program/activity, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child/ward might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with this program/activity (including transportation services and vehicle operations, when provided).

I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in this program/activity, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims I or my minor child/ward may have (or accrue to me or my child/ward) as a result of participating in this program/activity against the Carol Stream Park District, including its officials, agents, volunteers and employees.

TRIP CANCELLATIONS

WITHDRAWALS SHOULD BE REQUESTED PRIOR TO THE PAYMENT DEADLINE. IF YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND AFTER THE DEADLINE, WITHDRAWALS ARE ONLY PROCESSED IF A PARTICIPANT ON THE WAITLIST TAKES YOUR SPOT OR IF YOU FIND A REPLACEMENT. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT A WAITLIST REPLACEMENT CAN BE FOUND AFTER THE DUE DATE HAS PASSED. IF A FRIEND IS TAKING YOUR PLACE ON THE TRIP, A SIGNED WAIVER AND PAYMENT ARE DUE BEFORE YOUR WITHDRAWAL CAN BE PROCESSED. PASSENGERS NOT ON OUR ROSTER ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ATTEND. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

Participants are required to either pay in full or enroll in a payment plan. Completion of an Automatic Payment Request form with credit card or bank account information is required if not paying at registration.

DEPARTURES

Trips depart from Simkus Recreation Center, unless otherwise noted. Arrive 10 minutes prior to the listed time for check-in and boarding.
