Our program is designed to give interns a ground-level understandingofwhatittakestorunaprivateclubatthe levelourmembersexpect Overthecourseofthesummer, each intern spends dedicated time with every department across golf, racquets, food and beverage, facilities, membership, marketing, agronomy, events, finance, and more.Thishands-onexposuregivesthemacomprehensive viewofcluboperationsthatsimplycannotbelearnedina classroom. At the conclusion of the program, the interns present a capstone project proposing a meaningful improvementtoaclubworkflow,service,oramenitybased ontheirexperience.Theideastheybringforwardneverfail toimpress,andmorethanafewhavefoundtheirwayinto ouroperations

Myprimaryplaceofemploymentwas with Merril Lynch in NYC for ten years and I "retired" when Tommy was born I never became officially employedafterthat,butIhaveserved on two boards at Charlotte Latin School and was a perpetual Team Mom.Iwasalsoontheboardofthe Paula Takacs Foundation for seven years and I am currently on two committeesatCarmel(Racquetsand Fitness Subcommittee). I like to be involvedinmycommunity!Itookup oil painting in 2018 and have sold manypiecesatartshowsorthrough commissionedsales
What motivated you to join Carmel?
We moved from Rye, NY in 2000 Wewantedtomeetpeopleinafamily environmentwherewecouldallenjoy theamenities.Iimmediatelyjoineda tennis team where I made great friends.Donstartedtogolfmoreand thechildrenattendedcampsandtook lessons.JoiningCarmelisoneofthe bestdecisionswehaveevermadefor ourfamily.
What is one of your favorite Carmelmemoriesortraditions?
I absolutely love Carmel around the holidays It becomes such a magical placewithallofthedecorandholiday events Theenergyisjustspectacular
Whatdoesanormalweekendlook likeforyou?
Whenwearenottravelingorvisiting family, you will find us around the firepits with friends after golf and tennisorentertaininginourhome.In the summer months we travel up to Maineforagoodpartoftheseason

We are now accepting applications for committee service for our standing committees of Facilities, Finance, Golf, Greens, House, Membership, and Racquets All adult members in good standing are eligible and encouraged to apply
To ensure prospective committee members understand the expectations and responsibilities of service, we will be hosting two open houses on Wednesday, September 2, and Wednesday, September 16, at 5:30pm. Attendance at one of these open houses is a required part of the application process.
