Explore at your own pace in a relaxed, friendly setting and enjoy good company. No experience needed, just come as you are.
August Wellness & Beat-the-Heat Nutrition
Friday, Aug. 7, 11 a.m.–noon., free with registration Jon Schwartz and Liam Dunfey will co-present on hydration strategies, summer sleep tips, and making easy, no-cook meals. Seniors can try water infused with cucumber, mint, or berries.
Care Navigation in Care Management
Tuesday, Aug. 18, 11 a.m.–noon, free with registration Navigate the overwhelming healthcare system on your own, or utilize professional concierge-level care coordination? Come learn the differences between traditional support options, community resources, and true care management – and how each one impacts your health journey. We’ll break down what concierge-level care coordination actually provides, from medical advocacy to crisis guidance to ongoing oversight. Most importantly, you will gain the knowledge to make confident, informed decisions about your care support.
Creative Crafting
Friday, Aug. 7 & 21, 1–3 p.m., free with registration This craft class has students turning everyday ‘throwaway’ items into works of art they can be proud of. August classes will feature Wire Figures and a Shell Mobil. All supplies are included.
End of Summer Bash
Friday, Aug. 28, 9:30–11:30 a.m., free with registration Join us for the third annual End of Summer Bash at Pine Avenue Park. Enjoy live music from local bands, sweet treats, and the opportunity to meet instructors and learn more about upcoming Senior Center classes.
Community Garden Club
Tuesdays, Aug. 4–25, 10:30–11:30 a.m., Pine Community Garden, $5 Work with Master Gardener Jano Nightingale to plant and care for the Senior Center raised bed vegetable garden at the Pine Avenue Community Garden. Plant selection, pruning, fertilization, and organic insect and disease control will be covered. Curious? Drop-in to the first class for free to see if it’s the right fit!
