A series of 10 Colombian maps depicting some of the most striking side effects of the country’s internal conflict. The routes of IDP’S (internally displaced people) and how they faced changes the persecution and forced displacement.
Developed in collaboration with the community of San Jacinto, Colombia, this art project during three months of shared making, conversation, and storytelling. Together we shaped a series of sculptures while documenting the rhythms of everyday life.

A Little Piece of Heaven speaks through the Australian landscape. Ochre-stained eucalyptus branches, uprooted and suspended in inversion, hover between earth and sky, untethered from the soil that once sustained them. They become quiet traces of displacement, memory, and the enduring search for belonging.

Stitched into the fence are fragments of lives uprooted by exile. Silenced voices, stripped of freedom, linger within the installation, woven into a quiet tapestry of displacement, memory, and resilience.
Constructed from a found branch, the work transforms a natural form into a symbolic ladder. It reflects the migrant experience: the pursuit of opportunity, the labour of ascent, and the promise of arrival. At the top, however, there is no solid ground, only the horizon, where expectation dissolves into an endless search for belonging.

Nowhere, Now Here is a metaphorical exploration of themes of immigration and displacement which seeks to draw attention to the increasingly desperate situation of refugees throughout the world. It encourages us to reflect on the plight of the dispossessed and to approach these issues from a position of compassion and empathy.
In the art intervention, Nowhere, Now Here, the artist attempts to climb a ladder which acts as a bridge from one world to another, but is thwarted by the empty space which opens before him as he ascends.

Dust to Dust is a performative meditation on impermanence. The body returns to the earth, dissolving the boundaries between identity, memory, and place. Beneath every origin lies the same ground.
Dust to Dust is a performative meditation on transformation, impermanence, and our bond with the earth. Echoing the words, “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return,” the work dissolves boundaries of identity, reminding us that beneath nationality, status, and origin, we all return to the same ground. The severing comes from the idea of human transformation to non-human beings and the disconection with nature based on the book Humankind by Timothy Morton.
During 20 days the artists transform the shape of a found rock and documented by photography, video and drawing to register the impact of human intervention and power play concept toward other species, how this relationship can affect our concept of home.
Carlos is a Colombian interdisciplinary performance artist. His art reflects the exploration of themes around the idea of home, cultural displacement, the perception of our surroundings, and how one constructs a memory of a space.
Carlos strives to make his art and the events he produces to current social issues of identity. It examines the lives of people who have lived in the diaspora. As an art educator hi focuses on the awakening of creative outlet for any individual mostly children and young population. Art, for him, is a crucial tool for raising awareness of certain topics and making them accessible to a larger audience. His performances are inclusive and immersive experiences. Not limited to the confines of the gallery, his practice engages the broader public sphere through arts education, interventions in urban space, and communities.
