Solid questions and answers at Coffee with a Councillor BY JOHN MATHER Usually Lamont County’s Coffee with a Councillor events are low key affairs with several residents gathering to meet with their local division councillor. But on June 10, in Division 5, the entire Lamont County Council along with several staffers from planning and
public works gathered with Councillor Neil Woitas to discuss local issues. About 50 residents filled the Bruderheim Fire Hall for the meeting. Roads were the main complaints the County officials heard about. One resident said there were too many ridges on the roads and in some areas there may have been tandem
loads of gravel in the ditches. Woitas said a road tour was planned and right now the roads are fairly saturated after all the rain which had fallen, but those roads indicated would be looked at. The resident expressed satisfaction with the answer saying he appreciated the County would look at the situation.
Another resident indicated that some trucks weren’t stopping for stop signs and making illegal left hand turns which posed a hazard. Woitas said he had witnessed such an action himself and that reports would be turned in to the RCMP about the issues. Continued on Page 14
