WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE Queen Conch in the US Caribbean? Recently, the queen conch was listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) of 1973. This law provides a framework to conserve and protect endangered and threatened species and their ecosystems or critical habitats.
This designation does not change existing laws and regulations.
