A Life of Service, Vision, and Leadership The Caribbean actuarial community mourns the passing of Mr. Jean Franz Alcindor of Haiti, a founding member of the Caribbean Actuarial Association alongside Daisy Coke, Stephen Smit and Denise Radix (deceased). Franz was instrumental in the development of the actuarial profession in Haiti and throughout the Caribbean and he devoted countless hours to mentoring and encouraging younger actuaries throughout the Caribbean.
Newsletter Sep Building a Profession At a time when actuarial resources and professional networks in the Caribbean were limited, Mr. Alcindor helped establish regional collaboration, professional development, and actuarial excellence. His contributions extended beyond Haiti and influenced the growth of the profession across the region.

The strength of the CAA, its educational initiatives, conferences, professional standards, and regional collaboration stand on foundations built by pioneers such as Franz Alcindor.
