Infrastructure should work for everyone
Welcome from CDB and the Rural Development Unit (RDU). Today brings together RDU colleagues, persons with disabilities and their organisations, and CDB staff to explore accessible infrastructure.
Why this matters? Physical, communication and institutional barriers can restrict access to transport, education, health and other essential services. Inclusive design addresses those barriers from project identification through operation.

Victoria, St. Mark Explore the school and nearby pedestrian environments through the experience of their users.

The assessment setting Victoria Special Education School and the surrounding road and bridge pedestrian environments.

Route and pace The route will be reviewed with disability representatives, considering gradients, surfaces and rest points.

Transport and support Accessible transport and boarding assistance will connect the Radisson and the St. Mark site.

Observe the journey, not only the destination Use the Checklist and User Assessment Tool to consider how a person experiences the full route.
