No caregiver should have to figure this out alone at 2am.
This started with my grandmother. She needed me, and I had no idea what I was doing. No one handed me a roadmap. No one called to check on me. I figured it out the hard way, and then I decided no one else should have to. So I walked away from my career at the Federal Reserve Bank and founded Caring Haven, a homecareagencyservingseniorsandtheirfamiliesintheBayArea. Thatworkshowedmeupclosewhatcaregiverswerecarrying,andit confirmed what I already suspected: the need was bigger than homecarecouldreach.SoIbuiltCaregiverOneCall.
February2025,weopenedourlines. Free. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No specific diagnosis required. No paperwork. Just a phone call,andarealpersonontheotherend.
In our first year, we answered over 600 calls. We connected caregivers to 1,800 hours of free respite. We delivered virtual trainingandhostedworkshopsforfamilieswhoneededmorethan aphonecall.Theyneededinformation,community,andsomeoneto walk them through what they were facing. Some callers were in crisis. Some just needed someone to listen. Some didn’t even know they were caregivers until they heard the words spoken back to them. Everysingleoneofthemdeservedthatcall.ThankYou.
Noneofthishappenedbyaccident.Ithappenedbecause peopleshowedup.

A year later, in February 2026, we hosted our first gala. The room was full of people who had never met each other but understood the same thing: caregivers deserve better.
