The Pregnancy Decision Line (PDL) is Care Net’s national hotline that provides live coaching to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies. Oftentimes, callers are about to go to Planned Parenthood but need to talk to someone first. In many cases, callers have abortion pills in front of them already. Our Christian coaches (many of whom are trained nurses) take these calls at moments of crisis, offering support, accurate information about abortion, realistic alternatives to abortion, prayers, and referrals to pregnancy centers for follow-up care to these women.
Moms like Sarah*, who was already overwhelmed providing for other children and had zero support from her baby’s father. She decided to get an abortion before calling our hotline. After speaking with our hotline coach, she changed her mind and kept her baby! But without additional support for more coaches and more advertising to promote our hotline, scared moms and dads will be much more likely to call Planned Parenthood instead. When people search online for crisis pregnancy support, they need to find OUR number – not the abortion industry’s!
