ENRICHMENT COURSES Our high school summer courses provide a fantastic opportunity for students in rising grades 7-12 to earn credit, prepare for the next school year, or explore new areas of interest. Attendance for the full duration of Summer School is required for all participants. Please do not schedule vacations, appointments, or early releases during these three weeks. No credit will be awarded to students who miss more than one day.

Enrichment Courses (Grades 7-12) INTRO TO DRAMA* (0.5 credit) Grade: Rising 7-9

LITERATURE & THE ARTS HONORS (0.5 Credit) Grade: Rising 10

This introductory course explores the fundamentals of theatrical performance, including acting techniques, movement, voice, and basic stagecraft, while building confidence, collaboration, and creative expression.

A rigorous, honors-level course that connects classic and contemporary literature with various forms of art. Students will engage in literary analysis and creative projects, studying how art and literature intersect and reflect cultural movements.

MUSIC ENSEMBLE* (0.5 credit) Grade: Rising 7-9

PERSONAL FINANCE & MONEY MGT (0.5 Credit) Grade: Rising 10-12

Students develop musical skills through performance in a collaborative ensemble setting, focusing on technique, rehearsal discipline, musical literacy, and expressive interpretation.

This course covers key concepts of financial literacy, including budgeting, saving, investing, credit, and managing debt. It’s designed to help students develop the skills they need to handle money responsibly and confidently as they move into adulthood.

HIGH SCHOOL TEST PREP (0.5 credit) Grade: Rising 8 Students strengthen academic habits through focused instruction in organization, time management, test-taking strategies, and study skills to support success in high school coursework and assessments. HOPE – HEALTH (0.5 credit) Grade: Rising 9 (only for students with HOPE PE credit) This course promotes lifelong wellness by addressing physical fitness, mental and emotional health, nutrition, substance abuse prevention, and responsible decision-making. HOPE: HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION (1.0 Credit) Grade: Rising 9-10 The HOPE (Health Opportunities through Physical Education) course focuses on overall wellness, including physical education, fitness, and healthy living. Students will earn 1 credit while learning how to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

PERSONAL FINANCE & MONEY MGT HONORS (0.5 Credit) Grade: Rising 10-12 An honors-level course that dives deeper into the principles of personal finance, incorporating advanced topics like stock market analysis, tax planning, and financial decision-making. Ideal for students interested in pursuing business or economics in the future. DE STUDENT LIFE SKILLS (0.5 credit) Grade: Rising 11th & 12th Grade (1st time DE students ONLY) This college-level course equips students with practical skills for personal, academic, and professional success, including goal setting, financial literacy, communication, wellness, and responsible decision-making. DE HARNESSING AI FOR GOOD (0.5 credit) Grade: Rising 11th & 12th Grade (1st time DE students ONLY) Students explore the ethical, social, and practical applications of artificial intelligence, examining how AI can be used to solve real-world problems while emphasizing responsible use, critical thinking, and positive societal impact.

*Fine Arts credit Students receive high school course credit toward graduation. Grades are not calculated into the GPA until the start of 9th grade. C A R D I N A L
