It may have been close to midnight on a Saturday, but hundreds of people recently gathered in a Harvey parking lot to eat and converse at a Ramadan Bazaar next to a new Yemeni cafe. Aden Aroma Yemeni Coffee, owned by Basil Alsoofi, opened its doors late in 2025 and decided to continue holding the Ramadan Bazaar that Pistachio Cafe started in 2024 in the parking lot of its previous location at 2701 Manhattan Blvd. “We were asked to honor the tradition of hosting the Ramadan Bazaar, but we

Ramadan is considered the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, a time for fasting, prayer and charity. And there are similarities between Ramadan and Lent, said Woodmere resident Ryanne Smart-Adams.
