Train Station Park fills with sounds of the season
The Livingston Children’s Choir performed Christmas classics Dec. 11 at the Train Station Park during the Denham Springs Kiwanis Club’s Tree Lighting. In addition, Santa and Mrs. Claus visited with children. The event was part of the city’s Christmas in the Village celebration.

In recent years, Livingston Parish has seen several of its girls basketball teams make long postseason runs to the state championship tournament. It’s a group that includes Albany, Denham Springs, Doyle, Holden and Walker, and it means the early-season parish tournament is always a worthy barometer of how teams measure up against the best competition. French Settlement has also been notable and has made the state quarterfinals the last two seasons.
