2026 Jazz Fest features veterans like the Eagles and Stevie Nicks joined by newcomers including Lainey Wilson and Teddy Swims BY KEITH SPERA Staff writer

The placement of names on the 2026 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival talent announcement isn’t random. Where a name appears on that topdown list is often negotiated between the marquee acts’ representatives and the festival. The first three, and thus most prominent, names on the 2026 announce-

ment — officially unveiled Thursday after a draft version leaked the previous day — are classic rock Jazz Fest veterans: the Eagles, Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart. But that drop is largely because the state has canceled the controversial Mid-Barataria and MidBreton sediment diversion projects while preparing alternatives to take their place. The state’s coastal leadership made clear that it intends to prioritize other types of

BY SAM KARLIN Staff writer

One of Louisiana’s biggest property insurers sent a promising signal this week, saying declining reinsurance costs are allowing the company to cut homeowners insurance premiums by an average of 7.5%. The decision by SureChoice, the secondlargest home insurer in the state, is one sign of improvement in a yearslong insurance crisis that has stretched Louisiana homeowners’ budgets. But the news is not all positive. The rate cut comes just eight months
