Operation Free Ball Gown volunteers came together recently to prepare formal apparel that will be given to military spouses and female service members so they can participate in military and Carnival balls. But the call is out for more gowns, cocktail dresses, evening shoes, handbags and jewelry to make this year’s event, on Sept. 13, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station, a success.
