Math tutoring program gives kids a one-on-one skills boost

Four years ago, Marquies Gray Jr. and his younger brother, Mason, were struggling to solve math problems. Their mother, Lavonzell Nicholson, enrolled them in a tutoring program called Make It Count Math. Today, things are different for both of her children. “Recently, I have been trying to understand how to multiply decimals,” said Marquies, 12, a sixth-grade student. “It was so confusing to me. The biggest challenge was that there weren’t enough hours in the day, and I couldn’t access all the students that would have benefited.”

Often, seniors are surrendered to shelters once their health begins Traci to decline.
