by CHISA HASEGAWA AS ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji slowly moves inland, the Cape is breathing a sigh of relief while remaining alert to the prospect of heavy rain and flooding. Over the weekend, a tropical low known as 12U developed into a category two cyclone on 10 January before being downgraded to a category one cyclone overnight. The cyclone, which was originally forecast to make landfall between Cooktown and Cairns, moved south, crossing the coast between Ayr and Bowen. – Continued page 2
