THE CONSTANTIA UPPER Monthly Newsletter

Dear Constantia Upper Residents,

Welcome to our monthly newsletter, where we share property insights and highlight upcoming activities for you to enjoy.

If you are travelling away for the Easter weekend, we wish you safe and enjoyable travels. Before you leave, please remember to secure your home. Lock all doors and windows, activate your alarm system, and consider asking a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property while you’re away. A few simple precautions can help ensure your home remains safe while you enjoy the long weekend.

Enjoy the Easter break and travel safely.

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO PREPARE YOUR PROPERTY FOR AUTUMN TO ENSURE IT REMAINS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION

THROUGHOUT THE COOLER MONTHS

1.

INSPECT AND CLEAN GUTTERS

As autumn brings falling leaves, gutters can become clogged, leading to water overflow and potential damage. Regularly clear debris from gutters and downpipes to ensure proper drainage.

2.

CHECK THE ROOF FOR DAMAGE

Examine your roof for signs of wear, such as cracked or missing tiles, which could lead to leaks during autumn rains. Addressing these issues promptly can prevent more significant problems.

3. MAINTAIN THE GARDEN

Autumn is an ideal time to prepare your garden for the coming seasons:

• Lawn Care: Mow the lawn one last time and apply autumn-specific fertilizer to strengthen grass roots.

Leaf Management: Regularly rake fallen leaves to prevent lawn suffocation and consider composting them for future garden use.

• Planting: Plant spring-flowering bulbs now to enjoy vibrant blooms when warmer weather returns.

4. SEAL WINDOWS AND DOORS

Inspect seals around windows and doors for drafts. Proper sealing enhances energy efficiency and keeps interiors comfortable during cooler temperatures.

5.

PRUNE TREES AND SHRUBS

Trim overgrown branches to prevent potential damage from strong winds and to maintain plant health.

By attending to these tasks, you can ensure your property remains well-maintained and comfortable throughout the autumn season.
