Volunteer shortage worries L&L chief by Ruth Isenberg Lehigh & Lausanne Fire Chief Tim Rossman knows volunteers are in short supply everywhere. He doesn’t know what can be done to solve the problem, but he’s worried about what will happen if a solution isn’t found. “Most of our members are over 60,” he explains. With only a few younger fire

fighters, he feels the future of the L&L may be at risk. The state suggests offering tax breaks to encourage volunteerism, he says, but that won’t do much to help this rural department.
